Hospital tea. I generally like this, pleasant and strong with no bitter bite; but there’s just something about Styrofoam that messes with the leaf, no matter what.

Calochortus

I was in a similar position last year, and also had to deal with the weird styrofoam taste. Your mum is in my prayers!

How times have changed … used to be it was the child that was awake at 4 a.m. on Christmas morning due to the excitement; now it’s the parents awake at 4 a.m. on Christmas morning due to insomnia. So we decided on a lark to leave the teenager in bed and go out to breakfast wherever we could find an open door. I toted my own bag, not knowing where we’d land, and good ol’ Irish Breakfast is a can’t-miss morning guarantee. Cranberry orange pancakes at Denny’s.

One thing that hasn’t changed…the down-on-my-knees sense of awe and blessing that always hits me on Christmas morning, no matter who’s up first: after all, “the Word became flesh and took up residence among us.” May He be in residence with you and your families today.

Blessings to you and yours, gmathis!

Has been my ace-in-the-hole office tea this month. Retains a little muscle with additional steepings.

Another plus for this one … you can let the cup go cold, reheat in the skanky work microwave, and it’s still good … doesn’t get stale or sharp or bitter.

I think this is going to be one of those that is going to be kind and forgiving regardless of steeping mistakes … I got impatient and dragged the bag out a little too quickly and it’s still sharp and stout in a nice mild sort of way. I need tea that forgives me.

Drank this with my spaghetti at supper. It was nice. It’s been a favorite of mine for a while, and it’s handy to carry something good in a tea bag!

Really enjoyed this one. It has the great, kind of mildly sweet, taste of green tea accompanied by the nice aroma of jasmine flowers.

Winter cupboard staple.
Feels a little watery this evening even at 5 mins but still strong enough to slap me awake and hearty enough to warm me up on a frighteningly chilly mid-western night.
Certainly one of my few bagged go-to’s especially during these seemingly arctic months.
Taken without milk and only a touch of honey.

Highly refreshing, slightly sour tea, with a strong aftertaste of nuts.
Good served hot at dinner, with spiced, roasted meats, game or fowl.

haven’t had the loose leaf of this tea, but my canadian wife finds this tea completely nostalgic… its smoky flavor reminds her of cross-country skiis and 70s dads.

Rather enjoy this Grey, never been much of a fan of the Grey family, but this has a very distinct flavor.

Enh – It was okay. Not my favorite but then again I don’t really like earl grey teas so that probably had something to do with it. It was worked for my mid afternoon tea fix though.

Brewed this for just over 3 minutes today and it was perfect. I actually enjoy this from time to time, even though I’m really not a big fan of mint in tea for the most part. Today I needed the caffeine but wanted the mint for my stomach, and this was the ideal afternoon tea choice.

I oversteeped this today and it tastes really weird, and is making my tastebuds feel coated. Ick, not a fan. I just added more hot water so I can drink the rest.
