I love this tea – I drink pretty much only this brand/type of Earl Grey. I’ve tried others that call themselves Earl Grey and get no bergamot at all, just black tea. This has plenty of bergamot flavour/scent. Also, I can happily leave the bag in the entire time, as it doesn’t get too strong.
Finally made it to the East Coast, I don’t recommend taking a red eye flight when you’re sick (or flying anywhere for that matter). But I am feeling better. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it. :)
This is the best tea at my parent’s house currently (I bought it the last time I was here, lol). It’s smooth and rich and perfect with a touch of soymilk and sugar. This is my favorite tea from Twinings and one of my favorite bagged teas for sure. Hope everyone got all the tea they wanted!
Preparation
I am still at my parent’s house and this set of teabags has also been here since last Christmas when I got them. My mother goes to McDonald’s almost every day to get an iced tea there. I assume that’s just an excuse she uses to get out of the house. :)
Anyway I still like this a lot – see previous notes for more info
I need to try this tea. They have it loose leaf at Southern Season. I will pick it up next time I go. Cuz I need more tea. Sigh.
I feel ashamed because I have about 200 teas now. We are actually adding a section of cabinets when we redo the kitchen, and I haven’t confessed that it is for my tea, but he knows. Oh yes, he knows…
This was the best I could find at the suburban grocery store, and indeed, it is a teabag. In spite of that I am enjoying it. Maybe because I just finished reading “My Man Jeeves” by P.G. Wodehouse, I can imagine Jeeves giving Wooster a cup of tea like this in bed along with a morning cigarette.
It is supposedly a blend of chinese black tea, I believe I can taste some yunnan in here along with something else. A keemun, perhaps? But it is not smoky, just very smooth and rich, nice and mild. I could imagine buying this in the loose leaf tin and keeping it around the house for a day when I just want to wake up and have a nice black tea of goodness. It is very delicious with some soymilk. Good for you, Twinings, you’ve managed to turn a suburban teabag into something quite drinkable… :)
Preparation
Day # 5 of 24, and tea of so late in the day I think it will probably keep me up……….
This one comes to me from teawing. Thank you! I have to admit, the more teas I try from Twinings, the more I realize I dismissed bagged tea way too soon. It turns out, I never had the steeping right and always used too much water. This time I was sure to use between 6 and 8 oz of water rather than the 12 or more I used to use in my pre-loose leaf days.
I am drinking this one straight up. I like the mellow taste of this. It is not as full tasting as the Keemuns I usually drink for breakfast tea. However, this one is smooth and light enough to drink on its own. I wish I had more to say about it, but alas, it is gone…… I will definitely look for Twinings when out and not able to get my usual loose leaf. They seem to be pretty reliable for good tea.
8 oz water freshly boiled, one teabag, 4 minutes. Straight up.
Preparation
I love this tea. I drink this many nights after dinner, and it really calms me down. I usually leave the the tea bag in my mug as I drink, so that the tea will get stronger as I get down to finishing it. It is good straight, but a little honey adds another element of flavor.
Preparation
This is my go-to tea when I need a little pick me up at work (trying to lessen my coffee intake), my Mom introduced me to this tea and I always have stock of this flavor. I know I got to try other brands but unfortunately, tea is not very popular from where I am.
Preparation
Very mediocre tea even by bagged tea standards. Bitterness is there and that’s about it, very bland flavour profile. It’s drinkable, but English or Irish breakfast variations of the same brand would be a better choice. Not much more to say.
