A definite revitaliser.. there’s just something about the stern ginger taste that brings you back to life and makes you think clearly.. for how long this lasts i couldn’t tell you ;)
Again, i add a little sugar and leave the teabag in throughout, getting a really full flavour by the last mouthful. I would point out that Asda do a (of course – cheaper) version of this tea but with mango flavours added as well, which gives it another dimension.. its not quite as … ‘exquisite’ as Twinings perhaps, but this could just be branding psychology.
A very tasty tea for mid-late afternoon.
This is one of those teas you’re not really “supposed” to love. Not only is it bagged tea, it’s bagged tea you can find in pretty much any supermarket. Not even in a fancy pyramid bag! But my stomach is killing me tonight, and to be honest no other tea soothes an upset stomach or a sore throat (both of which are ailing me) like this. It’s just… lemon and ginger! If I’m feeling a bit less under the weather I’ll cut up some fresh ginger root and boil it with lemon… but really, this tastes almost identical with a dollop of honey. Plus it actually resteeps well: I leave the bag in and just refill my cup 2-3 times with boiling water. Also, no bitterness from the ginger even if the bag sits in water for 15+ minutes! This is really the ideal low-maintenance tea for me.
Preparation
This is a good, solid workhorse of a tea. It does what it’s supposed to do. The taste is subtle. I would have no problems serving this to my non-tea-drinking friends. I prefer my tea somewhat stronger, so I brew it a bit longer and don’t add a thing.
This is an everyday tea as far as I’m concerned.
I bought this tea because I needed to add some “black” teas to my collection. I am also reading Fifty Shades of Grey: Book One and this is Anastasia’s favorite tea. So I figured I needed to try it! I let the tea bag seep for about 3 minutes and I didn’t put any milk or sweetener. The tea tasted OK, but not going to say I’m the biggest fan. I will definitely try it again in hopes of getting a little better result, maybe I won’t let it seep for so long.
Preparation
Not an exceptionally delicious tea, but the price is right and the taste is decent. It also serves me well when I want to experiment with flavorings, and I find that some cloves, cardamom, and orange zest spruce it up nicely.
Preparation
Left this in for 4 minutes and it was already getting bitter. I know some people like their teas a bit bitter, but I really can’t stand it at all. I added some milk to help. It became drinkable with the addition of milk. But the taste was nothing to go “WOW!” over. It’s just kinda so-so. It’s definitely drinkable, but I’m not going to be desperately trying to buy this again. I think it’ll be good for me in the mornings when I’m still half-asleep and just need something to wake me up. Twinings’ Lady Grey and Earl Grey are my favorites so far, now I just need to try out that Irish Breakfast.
