mmm this was particularly delicious tonight. I over leafed this one just a little and ended up steeping it for a little longer than 3 mins. Turned out quite nice and made for a great cup of tea while doing the dishes. I’ve got an over night tomorrow so i’m trying to clean up a bit around the house to help out my other half.
this is very much my “craving after dark but i don’t have any so here’s a poor substitute to drink even though i really want after dark” tea. LOL yeah. it’s decent enough, but it’s not after dark. Made this up as a latte this afternoon. :) better than as a straight tea..but still wasn’t after dark
this is my poor black tea base substitute for after dark. sigh while i DO enjoy this one, i always wish it was after dark when i have it lol It’s got a good thing going with it’s vanilla and ginger and cocoa…cardamom. I need to try this as a latte because i think that would really make the flavours even more awesome. :)
I need to find my samples form you & Nicole. Last thing I remember they were on my desk, & I know they are somewhere in my office, but things got a little crazy over the last week or so…
Haha yeah you do and yes they did! I’m making breakfast and drinking puerh! Only 10 more hrs to stay awake lol
had this one a while back. all i can remember really is that it reminded me a little of “after dark” from steam…only with tea in it heh. more to come later since this is one of the teas i picked up while in st louis with terri :)
Wow! This is spicy! It’s also tasty! It also contains several herbs that are on my ‘Favorite Herbs That Are Good For You Too’ list: I drink Nettle leaf for my allergies. It’s one of the best antihistamines out there. I drink Elder berry as an antiviral, & also because I love the taste. And I love love love Ginger in tea & in food. The blend is rounded out with Rose, Rooibos, Elder flower, Cinnamon, Clove, & Stevia leaf. It is a little heavy on the clove, for my taste, but otherwise, I like it.
BACKLOG: (because I totally let Sil down by not reviewing this tea when she loved it and gave me the LAST CUP of it)
What a bad tea fren. :P
I remember I liked the pumpkin flavouring from it, but the rooibosness of it bothered me a little. I think I just don’t do rooibos well in the summer but come fall and I would probably be ALL OVER IT. I will have to keep an eye out for it!
Thanks Sil!
(I just going to keep being annoying and comment every time I see something about this tea – I would LOVE to get some of this if/when it’s reblended this fall. Please, thank you)
Thank you – will negotiate buying some when the time comes (there’s no need for any "payback) – Why is your package “out for delivery” but yet -"Item arrived at postal facility. Item on hold. " Canada Post drives me nuts….
As I was telling Sil earlier, I spoke with the gal who makes this the other day. All the pumpkins were grown locally last year, & I told her we would want a lot of it, even if I had to roast the pumpkins myself :)
Ok, I know it is entirely the wrong season for this. It isn’t even on their website until October. I had Mtn Dew for lunch and thought caffeine free sounded acceptable this afternoon. First off the leaf looks like snack food. Dry this is cinnamon and clove scented. Taste while hot – throw in a little nutmeg and some aftertaste heat from the ginger. Once it cools a little I get pumpkin under all the spicy goodness. That actually surprises me. I have had a lot of pumpkin teas that got the pumpkin pie spices right but never approached actual pumpkin taste. I think all the previous teas have had a black tea base. This is rooibos. That may make all the difference. And don’t wrinkle your face, Eeeeww rooibos. You really don’t notice it in the blend and bonus it does taste of pumpkin with lots of spice. It is not pumpkin pie but it doesn’t claim to be.
I loved this one, & it’s made by a local gal, Katieri, who owns the tea company. Someone here in stl grows the pumpkins, Katieri roasts them, & then dehydrates them, or something like that.
Sadly, this tea won’t be back until Fall…sigh…
I think the only other holiday teas I have are my nightly Celestial Seasonings stuff. Thanks Terri for sharing this. At first I thought traveling tea meant one of those boxes you all pass around. I found the website and thought a lot of it looked interesting.
i have to try not to think about the pumpkin tea from this company that is hiding in my special box. i really do just want to drink it all up. this straight tea from this is a really interesting. it’s sort of juicy feeling. and work just exploded. thanks for sharing t his with me terri!
When the hot water first hit this tea, I immediately smelled pumpkin pie filling. The taste of the brewed tea is more pumpkin chai to me. I definitely get a pumpkin flavour. I am getting cloves and a very light ginger taste. I am also getting quite a roasty or burnt flavour – burnt like caramelized sugar. I get only the slightest bit of rooibos flavour, which is a plus for me.
Definitely surprised by this one. Thanks*Terri*!
Preparation
Tea from last night….and probably today later haha. I’m nearly done this one which is nice – just in time for warmer weather to hopefully roll around. I mostly prefer drinking this in the dead of winter, though we didn’t get much of one of those this year :(
Another one from last night – good to pull out some of the teas that i haven’t had in a while. Need to keep from getting bored while my cupboard is so tiny. I’ll be happy once this is gone as i’m about ready for a break from it until the next year maybe? :) still such a great mix of pumpkin (real!) and ginger!
pulled this one out last night. Trying to get back in to the habit of drinking some herbals in the evening. If nothing else it’s a way to relax before bed. I still really enjoy this one, but what i have will probably be enough to get me through until next year’s cold weather :) i love the real chunks of pumpkin and the fact that this has got ginger. it’s not that artifiicial “pumpkin spice” tea we often find at this time of year.
hey terri…i finally finished this! lol Maybe we make a smaller order next time, eh? haha Just enough to last us through the WINTER. Lol still love this, though admittedly it will be nice to have a break from this one….i suspect come winter i’ll be moaning about how i don’t have any. lol. ginger? yes! pumpkin? yes! my favourite pumpkin tea so far…because of the ginger/pumpkin and because it has chunks of real pumpkin in this…not some weird ass generically random “pumpkin spice flavour”
Having a relaxing cup of tea while I get in some reading tonight. Hoping for an early night to catch up on some much needed sleep. Still enjoying this one, but i’d like to finish it off soon so i can take a break from it before the fall rolls around again haha
Final Count: 111
last tea of the day…. figured i’d finish with another oldie AND a goodie :) It’ll start warming up soon, so i need to finish this one up soon :) still my favourite pumpkin tea – love the ginger in here.

the woman who makes it uses real pumpkin from her garden. Terri bought us an entire pound last year…we’re both still working through it i think haha
probably the last tea of the year since i’m finding myself more thirsty for water at the moment than anything. Figured i should pull out one of my old favourites in an effort to get closer to a sipdown with one of them instead of hoarding it. Still love this one…ginger and bits of real pumpkin! what’s not to love? now to settle in with a little tv before bed with my other half and rental dog. yay for quiet evenings in for new years.

so much pumpkin around everywhere that i felt compelled to pull this one out today. Still my favourite pumpkin tea! I’m glad i still have a bunch of this left from when terri and i picked up a stupidly obscene quantity of this haha.
It’s so good, and honestly, I can’t believe we both still have some, LOL.
Especially when it’s getting close to a year since we got it!
It’s one of those teas that I drank a lot when we first got it in, then was like, “uh oh…I don’t want to drink it all and run out & have to wait for months to get more” so then I started rationing it out. Time to drink up!
uh… he doesn’t really like tea. he had one tea he liked.. that he drank twice in the two years we had it… mostly he appreciates tea for the joy it brings me lol
At least the one tea he likes isn’t the one you dislike, LOL
I’m talking about Tony & I and his love for earl grey :)
Not that I really mind, but any fantasies I’ve ever had of a romantic green tea ceremony, puerh session, or just sharing a pot of tea went out the window long ago. He has his teapot, I have mine. But at least I have a nice tray to carry our teapots & cups on, and we do drink tea together on the weekends. That’s good enough :)
Is there such a thing as an obscene quantity of tea? If so I have never heard of it and refuse to believe it exists!
Noms. Still love this one…so glad that Terri introduced me to it. I have enough to last me for a while yet thanks to her! it’s more delicious in the fall because of the flavour profile, but it’s still a tasty treat in the evenings :)
