In the Vancouver airport, headed to the island with the bfs for a wedding on his side! So I grabbed a cup of this, my go-to, to-go (haha) tea. I mean, it’s pretty hard to mess up peppermint lol. Tasty and refreshing and nice on my tummy after my greasy yet amazing bagel BELT. Lol, any good tea recommendations in Vancouver or on the island?
Silk Road and Murchies on the Island. Urban Tea Merchant ($$$), Granville Island Tea, Teaz/Herbal Republic, umm… http://goo.gl/maps/gXsKK Here. This is probably easier.
Any specific Q’s about Vancouver, send me a message. :) If you only have a day, I’d say stay in Kits/Downtown. Bayswater, O5, the others I’ve listed. Soirette Macaron House for a treat (haven’t been, but it looks cute!), etc.
I didn’t have any tea today!!
It’s been such a stressful week that I just withdrew from everything except for work, and now I really want a cuppa! I’m craving so badly… but then I’d never get to sleep and herbal won’t do(last day is tomorrow. Both good and bad I say!)
Anyhow, I’m off to bed. So exhausted and not looking forward to a repeat of today heh
I use to refuse anything pumpkin. I wouldn’t have pumpkin pie, cookies, desserts of any kind really… So, when a (now former) coworker that I couldn’t stand told me that if I love tea, I had to try this, I didn’t want to and didn’t want to believe that she knew anything about me whatsoever. Somehow she convinced me to try this one. I didn’t want to, but I did. She got me this tea, double double with cream. I never drink tea with cream. EVER.
But this tea was amazing. She finally got something right.
Since that time, I’ve been on a pumpkin tea kick that hasn’t really stopped. And for that, I’m happy ‘cause it’s delicious. I’m still not a fan of pumpkin desserts, but the tea I’ll drink religiously.
Holy sugar batman! Ordered this one like I usually do, with two milk and one sugar, but man that sugar is front and centre stage and making this tea so sweet! I’m even adding the second tea bag to the cup to see if making the tea part a bit stronger will help me tone down the sugar? I know, strange logic, but I’m tired so, what can ya do?
Today, me and the little one are heading on our first big car ride. We’re travelling three hours east to go see the in-laws/his grandparents! I’m so excited to get away for a few days and to spenbd time with them. I’ve mentioned it before and I will again. My in-laws are the best. I love them and they have only seem out little man once! It was when he was a week and a half old and so tiny tiny tiny! I can’t believe how much he’s changed. He’s 7.5 weeks old now and 9lbs! Long way from 4.5weeks early and 4lbs 11oz!
I have not drank much tea the last week or so… I’m cutting down on my caffeine… And it’s been hard… but today I needed something. I am just so tired and I feel so drained. So, half a cup of this one for me!
It’s not that great… I wish I had had a good tea today to make it more worth while, but I’m getting a tiny bit of energy so, whatever. Anyway, this is my in a pinch tea. And it’s fine, but not a favourite.
I get this one when I need a quick pick-me-up and I don’t have time to make my own. I also get it when travelling. It’s a simple tea, but delicious.
I always get it two milk, one sugar, bag in. One milk never seems to be enough when I leave the bag in. It gets strong quick. And I don’t know about others here, but all the Tims around my area always seem to do really big amounts of sugar. One is sometimes too much. Meh, It’s still good. I still enjoy it.
Blah, I’m on my way to the Rocky Mountains for an awesome little vacation and I’m getting sick, so I need some tea. The closest tea is Tim Hortons. I immediately opted for this one when I saw it, and I’m glad I did. It’s actually much better than I expected. Its wonderful spicy aroma filled up the hotel room and it leaves a pleasant burn in my throat. I can taste a little bit of liquorice in it but I like it here.
I totally lost Roll Up the Rim though. No free stuff for me.
Preparation
Ok, so I bought this & a bagel to kill time while I was waiting for a store to open this morning. Bought myself a new bathing suit, for my birthday pool party! woooooooo
I got a large, 2 bags in. I let it steep for a couple of minutes. All I got was artificial blueberry taste. UGH ok Tim Horton’s, you are a Canadian company, you should know good blueberry. BLECH!
I ended up tossing the cup.
The water temp scale cannot go high enough for how hot this stupid crap was!
Preparation
So this was my first tea as a married woman – we have been so busy with wedding preparation, setup, enjoyment, take down and aftermath that this may be the only tea I have had in a week. I love mint so it really hit the spot, and it was thoughtful that my mother-in-law made it for me. We have been together for nine years so nothing really changed but it was amazing to get together with our best friends and family to celebrate. It was a true Nova Scotia kitchen party – we are thinking of having a celebration every year in the same style. Happy tea!
When I’m drinking this, usually it means that I’m at an airport or a hospital. This time around, it was the latter. I tried it with one cream and one sugar, as opposed to the usual double-double, and it wasn’t as enjoyable. It was noticeably thinner. Interestingly, my mom also ordered her dark roast with one cream and one sugar, which we also normally order as a double-double, and we made similar observations with the coffee. It definitely tasted more like some plain, boring coffee you brew at home with only a bit of milk added. I guess I can conclude that I love TH double-doubles for, well, the tea/coffee-to-cream-and-sugar ratios a lot more so than the tea/coffee itself.
On another note, the apartment staff was serving St. Patty’s mini cupcakes in the lounge today and my mom and I tried one each when we got back. They were advertised as Bailey’s vanilla and Guinness chocolate. Sound promising, right? I think they lied. Seriously. They just tasted like ordinary, mass-produced vanilla and chocolate cupcakes. They were moist but the flavour was very disappointing. To top it off, we overheard one of the staff members telling someone that the green icing in the Guinness chocolate one was green because it had tea in it. Umm, a) it was bright emerald green which matcha itself simply cannot make and b) no tea flavour, just chemical, probably from the obvious green food colouring. I mean, it was a nice gesture doling these out but damn, so not worth the calories.
“It’s been Roll Up the Rim for how long already and I still haven’t done so?” That was my thought when I passed a TH yesterday, so I grabbed a steeped tea double double.
What’s truly sad is I picked it up on the way home from walking around downtown trying to book a hostel for a couple nights next week. By the time I got home with this, it was lukewarm. I realized the receptionist at the hostel I went with didn’t give my ID back, so I quickly chugged this in less than five minutes and went back out the door. So it ended up being a huge waste of time, getting a tea that I ended up having to down really fast AND losing Roll Up the Rim. AAAAAAAND I also got blisters on my feet from doing a ton more walking in my boots than anticipated. Had I known I would have worn something comfier.
Thanks Tim Hortons!
I had this two mornings in a row, as a double-double. Still not bad, but as usual, it’s the cream that saves it, and covers up the cardboard flavour from the tea.
I had a double-double (two creams, two sugars) very early at the hospital this morning and it’s really not that bad. I do find though that it can sometimes taste like cardboard. I always thought it was the paper cup but you never know.
Maybe it was because I was super tired or fighting with an uncomfortably dry contact lens, but this time it was considerably less cardboard-y. Actually, none to be had.
It’s a standard mass-produced Red Rose-like black tea. Maybe I like it because of the cream? I never ask for cream anywhere else nor do I ever have it at home, and come to think of it, I enjoy TH’s coffee as a double-double.
I’ll be a little kinder with the rating.
I like this one too, but I also think it’s the “Double-Double” aspect that makes it so tasty. I don’t put cream/sugar in any of my other teas, so I’m basically just ordering/drinking that.
And I don’t regret it.
I would still like to try it to stay sometime, in a mug, to see if it makes a difference. Does it ever taste like cardboard to you?
I had this the other day when I was staying overnight on campus. You get a free pastry and drink for breakfast at TH so I opted for this. Peppermint is pretty much peppermint. Sure, it doesn’t have the POW that some peppermint has but nevertheless, it’s a decent herbal. It’s a hard flavour to screw up so it’s a good choice if you’re unsure of their other flavours.
Hmm, Didn’t win anything at Timmy’s this evening but this herbal wasn’t bad at all.
I couldn’t help but think of my Cocomint, from David’s Tea, the whole time I was sipping away at this. It’s a mild breath of fresh air so it passes as a minty thing. This was a little creamy too, like it had a touch of vanilla. Maybe a little candied.
Preparation
Feeling supremely lazy this morning so I grabbed one these on my way to work.
Also, I need to buy a new kettle for at work because the one my boss bought is one of those one side coffee, one side hot water jobbies and it makes every cup taste like hot plastic.
Not that a cup os steeped tea tastes much better. Now everyone yell at me so I’ll stop!
I’ve gotten this a few times, when desperate. I’d rather go without. Their bagged English Breakfast is better.
I left my favourite timolino at work the other day and needed a tea fix on the way. I used to drink this ALL the time, might as well have just hooked me up to an IV. However, this time around all I tasted was hot paper. I finished it, only because I told myself it was all in my head. People at work laughed at me when I told them I had one, they didn’t believe me.
I know what you mean by hot paper! I always described it as cardboard. I can’t tell if it’s the tea or the paper cup that I’m tasting. Not exactly the healthiest, but I find it’s not as bad as a double double. But even then, yeah, cardboard. I wonder what it would taste like if you ordered it to stay in a mug.
I’m not sure. . . I’ve never had this problem with TAZO at starbucks, or a to go cup at DT. I think it’s just a low quality tea. It’d be interesting to try it out though!
