I could barely finish this stuff.
I don’t think I’m a fan of this roasted rice stuff.
I was only able to get down a few sips.
Thanks Ellen for this generous amount but this isn’t my cup of tea:(
If anyone is a fan of toasted rice teas I’m open for a swap:)

Hi.. What can you say about this tea? If it’s loose leaf, is any different from other loose leaf wulongs?
sigh Unfortunatley this is not loose leaf as I was way out of town when I tried it. However, the quality of it’s leaves was amazing considering that it’s bagged. It’s a well roasted wulong and has a nice and full taste. The main reason I marked it so high was that I was impressed by it’s quality coming from a bagged tea.
Hope this helps! :)
Your standard oolong, though it’s nearly as strong as some of the best loose leaf I’ve had. For a bagged tea, it was in very good keeping and could easily compete with some loose leafs. As I’m drinking it, I’m getting a very nice almost roasted or fired taste to the leaves which, I think adds character.
This tea held it’s flavour even as it cooled off. I’m quite impressed with this oolong! Definitely recommend it for those who want to try oolong, but aren’t sure how to get into it. This tea is a very good (and not too pricey) representative.

This is my first time actually brewing this. I don’t drink much Earl Grey, but the Bergamot seems rather strong in this one. I drank this in the loose leaf form, so that might make a difference. It’s been my experience that I’ve had a lot of stale tasting Earl Greys, but this one tastes fresh. Very nice.
Preparation
Ok. I haven’t tried this one yet, but my dog likes it. I dropped a few leaves on the floor when I opened the tin to smell it, and he ate them! He has never done this with other teas.
It smells pretty great. When I have one of my rare cravings for Earl Grey, this will be the one I go to.
I’m reaching for a comforting tea this morning. I have a big math test today that I am more than a little stressed about, so I wanted something that would wake me up, but not make me think about it too much since I need to be focused on all of these darn math formulas! This tea is just a blend of black teas from Kenya, Malawi and Indonesia. The teabags smell lightly malty. The flavor is smooth and bold with no bitterness. It reminds me of a higher quality PG Tips. It’s perfect with a little milk and sweetener. Thanks to Serenity for this tea! It is just what I needed this morning to ‘wake my motor up’!
-Round natural unbleached teabag.
-Teabag smells lightly malty. Tea liquor aroma is of robust black tea.
-Tea liquor is a cloudy dark golden brown color.
-Smooth and bold flavor and finish.
-Best with milk and sweetener.
-Very good tea. A hearty black tea with no bitterness. Reminiscent of PG Tips.

Woah, the reviews on this one are all over the place! I like to browse other reviews before I write any notes on a tea, though I always like to start with a general score in mind first. I don’t want to be affected by other reviews, but at the same time it’s nice to get a general sense of what others think! But this, goodness, I have no idea! It has plenty of 90+ scores but then quite a few lower than 30. Divisive!
I think many people aren’t fans of RoT’s small teabags and steep(ish) prices, but they were my intro into loose leaf and I’ve stuck by them. I have a tiny mug of tea before bed every night and their bags are the perfect size for a small cuppa! This is a blend I’ve been meaning to try and I got a sample from Marcel Duchamp. Thanks!
There isn’t a whole lot of depth here. It’s strongly almond and the vanilla makes it taste like marzipan! The base is strong but kind of one-note. You know, it tastes like black tea! Generic but tasty. Maybe this isn’t the most complex blend and I probably haven’t made it sound that appetizing but I really enjoyed it. For a before-bed, no-fuss tea this is great! I LOVE marzipan and while this isn’t advertized as a marzipan blend it really tastes just like it.
Yeah I like to not look until I have done mine as well. I may have a sample of this from Marcel as well … going to look :)
I like to cold brew this one with two tea bags over night in the fridge. Then I serve it with ice and a little milk in the summer.
I got this from Starfevre. I just made it tonight, and I really like the raspberry flavor, but, as she said, it is very sweet. I don’t mind it all that much, but, it does keep me from rating it a bit higher.
I had first gotten a small tin of this tea, containing two bags as a gift on Valentines day. Lets say, I drank those two bags right away, and I had to get more. This is defiantly in my top 5 of my favourite teas. I recommend it to any tea enthusiast.
Preparation
Got this at a half price tea sale whole foods was having- expiration date on the container was january of 2015, so I thought I would give it a go.
Opening the tin, the aroma was fresh cut grass- pleasant enough- the leaves looked in good shape but there were quite a few stems as well. Not so sure about the descripton as “top grade”
3 minutes at 180 degrees got a pleasantly nutty and vegetal taste. So this one was ok in my book- not thrilling, but decent at the price of just over 4 bucks for 75 g. The full price of 8.75 would be silly though. If you can pick it up for a song, go for it. Otherwise, your money would be better spent elsewhere.
Preparation
I’m not sure I am listing this under the correct spot. I had the round bagged version. I was not impressed. There is not enough dust in the bag (1.6g). The tea is bitter at 2 1/2 minute steep. The bergamot is too light for my tastes. I think it tastes like it was stored in a plastic milk jug. A lot of people like this, I’m just not one of them.
Side note: My wife told me she had a cup of the Tazo chamomile she bought before I brought home some better quality stuff. She had become so accustomed to the good stuff that she was amazed at how flat the Tazo tasted. Progress!
Preparation
Enjoyable! This was a surprise because I’m so jaded by so-called chocolate teas. I didn’t have to search for the cocoa or the coconut, both tasted natural and there were no ‘off’ flavor notes at all — smooth sailing. It is a little thin but there’s enough flavor to not be dissatisfying, just give it a good long steep, as my brethren here suggest. Drank with nothing added.
Preparation
Pretty good.
It has a nutty, sweet, green, rice cake/rice crispy flavor.
I drank this mostly while i wasn’t feeling well. It really does make you feel like you’ve eaten something. Which made me feel better when I couldn’t handle much :(
I discovered that (after I got better of course) it’s pretty dang good with milk and sugar in it. P: but i like it both ways.
Preparation
I got a few free samples of this at a local coffee shop and was super stoked. I’d been interested in buying one of the RoT cuppa chocolate teas (particularly the banana and coconut ones) but was always hesitant to buy a full tin due to the mixed reviews they’ve received on here. I figured this would be the perfect test to see whether or not it’d be worth actually buying some!
The tea definitely smells like strawberry cocoa. An artificial strawberry cocoa, yes – but I didn’t mind! It smelled yummy, in my opinion. I prepared it according to the instructions and then took my first sip…meh. I wasn’t all that impressed. It was a very, very mild flavor and not really enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. I added a dash of milk and some Stevia which helped bring out more of the chocolate. Not half bad!
Overall, I thought the tea was pretty yummy but I was still a bit disappointed. I enjoyed it and will probably drink another one of my free sample bags tonight, but I wouldn’t go back and buy this flavor in particular! Maybe I’d have better luck with the other teas in the cuppa chocolate line?
