My last bag. They say chili is a pain killer so I thought I’d try this to get rid of “the bends” that I’m feeling. It also clears out the sinuses and since the pressure is all in my head now, I need it.
1 bag, 8oz water, 16 min.
Wow. I’m really surprised, and disappointed, at how not strong this is. There’s really no difference between it being steeped 5, 8, 10, or 16 min… Sad. Still a very good tea though.
Hmm… my 1st tasting note disappeared. To restate, this is from Jaime!=D
(Steeped for 11 min)
Had this w/ a ham, banana pepper, mozzarella, and roasted red pepper hummus (hummus was homemade- even the peppers were home roasted) on homemade whole grain pita. It actually went surprisingly well! The sweet mango balanced the spice and the chili paired well w/ the peppers. So yummy!
Preparation
First, “Thank you, Jamie” for sending me this sample along with all the others, you are so generous.
I am so HAPPY I had the chance to try this tea, it is mostly plantain in flavor and slightly coconutty. I absolutely LOVE the raw green roobios tea I think mostly because the flavor of the green versus the red is more in the background. I find that the red is far more in your face. As such that means you really don’t have to over flavor the tea to get a nice balanced flavor. I can’t wait to try the rest of the raw bush teas. This is delicious and I will be buying it. Highly recommended!
Preparation
This tea smells heavenly, I had a hard time waiting the 7 minutes to drink it! Actually, the fact that I could smell the chocolate through the tin was what led me to buy it in the first place (it was between this tea and chocolate orange rooibos year of the tiger tea). First impression: kinda weak, not particularly rich in the chocolate or mate. I decided to let it cool a bit, as it was still too hot to really tell. A few minutes later: still a little more subtle than I had hoped, but very drinkable. I have to remind myself that this is tea, not hot chocolate, to judge based on what is there, not expectation. While in the mouth, it doesn’t taste like much, but during the swallowing process and aftertaste, its kinda toasty and a pretty tasty, mild soothing chocolate.
Monday has been kinder than I thought it would be after the holiday weekend. Here’s hoping that the trend continues!!
I was feeling the need for blueberries, and this tea hits the spot. It’s actually my least favorite of the hibiscus teas…but it’s still very nice.
ETA: Okay, accidentally dropped a Vanilla Tootsie Roll midgee into this cup. I highly recommend doing this on purpose!
Preparation
What? I’ve really not rated this one yet?
My taste buds are a bit off (yay to head colds…not), but this tea still breaks through and tastes good. Perfectly balanced blueberry with hibiscus. It’s not my favorite of the Hibiscus Superflowers (that would be the Tangerine), but it’s still really, really good. And is even better iced, though I won’t be icing tea again until summer rolls back around.
Preparation
i just pulled this out of the tea stash that i had just like everyone else it was a free bag from R of T catalog and i didn’t like it at all! i will never get it i don’t know if it was the rooibos , the pomegranate , or me being pregnant but it so didn’t taste good at all i was hoping it was too since i only have a few that are caffeine free or really low on the caffeine range of tea well i think i would like to figure out what i didn’t like unfortunately i don’t know i have never had rooibos tea before so who know :S
Preparation
This is only my second pot of the day. My taste buds have gone off, and I’ve not been real thirsty/hungry. I hate being sick. Anyway, I thought something hot would help my throat. This isn’t my favorite herbal, so I kinda don’t mind that i can’t really taste it right now.
Preparation
This might just be my favorite of the Wellness teas. I’ve had it in my cabinet for a while, and finally pulled it out to try.
It’s minty, and I can taste the chamomile and the orange peel along with the rooibos. It’s rather sweeter than the other Wellness teas I’ve tried.
Now let’s see how well it helps me sleep!
Preparation
The name of this tea is a big misnomer. I was expecting it to taste rather lemony. It doesn’t taste of lemon (or lemon balm) at all.
Chamomile, hint of lavender, herbal. Not flowery at all, which is a good thing for a chamomile tea, in my opinion. This isn’t a bad tea, and I’d certainly drink it again if it was offered to me, but I wouldn’t actively seek it out, especially when so many other chamomile blends are much tastier.
Preparation
Love the smell of this tea. It’s just like a freshly cut pineapple. It’s delicious, too: sweet fresh pineapple taste with a fresh, clean green tea. The ginger is just barely there, which is great for me (though ginger must be growing on me, since I keep trying teas made with it).
Thanks, Meghann M, for sending some of this my way! I love it!
Preparation
I bought this on a whim while I was on vacation in Iowa. Yes, vacationing in Iowa. I haven’t been the biggest fan of teas that were more spice than tea. This is definitely one of those. So instead of brewing it naked, I brewed it in local apple cider. This was fantastic. It paired well, perfect for spiced cider. If I do brew this naked, I will add black tea or jamaica flowers. It’s a good base.
