Too good for words! Tastes just like a warm, freshly baked lemon meringue pie. Positively delicious.

I took my cold steep of this with me out today and it was so, sooo good. The oolong really came through and it was creamy and refreshing and just so delicious.

Mmmm, I love milk oolongs. Loooove. Of the ones I have, this is my least favorite, even though it is quite yummy, so I’m adding it to the sipdown pile. Especially since RiverTea supposedly has a great Milk Oolong.

Even as I was making it, though, I began craving Birthday Cake from DavidsTea, so I knew I wouldn’t be coming back for a resteep. But the leaves had barely begun to open after the first cup finished steeping, so I poured them into my Mason Jar to let them cold brew. I love watching oolongs unfurl.

The tea itself is just lovely. Lovely! The roastyness of the oolong and the creamy milk….guh. Hands down one of my favorite teas.

After spending my morning on Steepster and wandering over two or three Milk Oolong review, I knew just what tea I needed to make when I got around to it. I couldn’t find my DavidsTea Milk Oolong, but I knew exactly where this one was and I am not in any way disappointed. It’s so creamy and fresh and delicious…Milk Oolongs will always have a special place in my heart. And I even took a break from my mason jar mug gasp So yummy…I can’t seem to put it down.

Yay! I am so happy that I like this tea! I agree with DaisyChubb, it’s not on the same level as DavidsTea’s, but it is very, very good. I broke in a new teapot with this today (a very sweet gift from the brother), and it was perfect. We went back for four steeps and could have gone for more, I think. It was very creamy and oolong-y and delicious. Definitely glad I bought it!

I keep hitting the ‘notify me’ button instead of ‘review this tea’. They should really make the review button bigger.

ANYWAY.

My wife discovered that I actually do enjoy some cold-brewed teas, so we have set out on a quest to discover exactly which ones, and how much agave is too much agave. I’ve had so many in the last few days that I haven’t reviewed that I’m just going to do them all at once and out of order SO we’ll start with Lemon Meringue – which in and of itself is one of the few rooibos teas that I enjoy (I find rooibos just too naturally sweet – it sticks in my throat).

Unfortunately, I did not like it cold-brewed. I’m leaving my rating where it is, because hot this is delicious, but it turned bitter and pungent on cold brewing.

Mmmm. Been craving this for a while, glad I finally gave in.

Oversteeped this cup, sadness. Got a little too tart and a little too overwhelmingly rooibosy. Nevertheless, was a nice shot of sweet into my afternoon.

Mmmmm. I was expecting the lemon (duh), but I was not expecting the meringue. The name is surprisingly accurate. Was a nice sweet tea, but every time I get a cup in-store they seem to brew it at the approximate temperature of the surface of the sun. I think I burnt my tastebuds. But what a way to go.

My wife hasn’t been able to stop raving about this tea so I guess it’s about time I tried it. It was okay, but not really to my taste. Too sweet and too fruity, but that’s exactly what she likes. It’s a no from me, which just leaves more for her!

Made a pot of this – I am mad sick yo.
I’m more than tired of drinking Cold 911 from DavidsTea – my head feels like it will explode – anyways, I still need my fluids! And this is over a year old now! Better drink it up haha, oh dear.

I told you I would do it and I did it!~ mwahaha okay where are my notes.

Dry leaf: the little compact tea balls are a bit smaller than I’ve had with my previous milk oolongs, I’ll see if there’s a difference in leaf size or if they’re just rolled more tight. Smells like heaven, can’t wait!

1st steep! I started at soon as I got to work, so my tastebuds weren’t in full effect and I may have mad some lingering tooth brush taste [/disclaimers].
I did 1.5 tsp in my Perfect Mug, 12 ounces of water. 30 seconds.
Wow. The flavour is full on, even with a ton of water and a mere 30 second steep, we got the buttery condensed milk, nectar of the tea-gods milk oolong aw yea. There’s a tiny hint of astringency but it helps balance out the decadence of the buttery taste. Not a lot of veggie going on just yet.

2nd steep! Only 10 ounces of water for the rest of the steeps. I let it go for one minute, but I think I could have stopped at 45 seconds because it was very full flavoured again. Very smooth and vegetal, less milky and more astringent, but not unpleasantly so. The smell of the liquor is like candy and I have to say, I need to crave a milk oolong to fully enjoy it, and this fulfills the craving 100%. A lot more flavour as the cup cools down as well.

3rd steep! This one was strange. I started 1.5 mins and took a sip – it wasn’t quite enough. I tried 1:45, still nothing, so I did my usual “last steep” and let it go for 5-7 minutes. This time it came out deep golden yellow, very vibrant. Like drinking gold! Still very smooth, but also a bit tart with the bitterness of the leaves – due to my long steep I’m sure. Buttery veggies for sure, but a lot less thick than the previous steeps. The leaf size was about the same as other milk oolongs I’ve tried!

In conclusion: Although I go on with lots of detail and gushing, this isn’t the be-all end-all of milk oolongs – I don’t feel I get as many layers of flavour as I do with David’s M O, but overall it was very consistent and didn’t leave me wanting!
I also think the price point is extremely well priced for this quality, and I would urge anyone to give it a try! (I got an extra 25% off with the Christmas deal, so I’m wishing I got 100g at this price!)

Not bad, but not as good as my recent Tealish winning streak. I’ve come to expect really natrual fruit flavours from their blends, but I think that is harder to accomplish with melon flavours. Also, I’m more finicky about fruity black blends. Tasty, but not exciting.

Made the mistake of mixing this one with a chai that had rooibos in it. Made it way too sweet!
This is one of my fave chais though, I’ll be back for it!

So my boyfriend and I were trying to get to sleep at 11pm last night.. and 12 rolls around.. and I guess I made this tea too late in the day because we were on a caffeine high – I mean waaay too much energy for that time of night. So I was cranky and tossed and turned and work was the longest day ever. So!
Just a warning, this tea has kick!

This is a kind of chai that I’ve been trying to perfect at home. Well, I need a break after all my tea-blend failures, and this one hit it perfectly.

I steeped it stovetop style, but oversteeped it a bit I think (for my liking) or didn’t add enough milk, because I like my chai spicy with spice, not bitter! It was slightly bitter (my fault) but with the addition of milk and a splash of maple syrup – this was just as good as at my favorite Indian Restaurant. I go there for the butter chicken, naan bread and chai. ah glory.

The coconut is subtle but there in the background for sure, creating an extra creamy note. I could use a bit more coconut, but I’ll judge that when I have it sans additions. Another Tealish hit!

The thing I appreciate most about this tea is how real the fruit smells when you stick your nose in. Strawberry kiwi fairy-heaven. The fruit taste is real too – I had a 4 minute steep because I couldn’t wait any longer and it was not light on flavour at all. A great companion tea if you’re a Green and Fruity fan!

It’s gorgeous too, little curls and pretty colours. This would be such a hit with my little niece – I think I will bring it home for Christmas.
Can’t wait to coldbrew this one, all I can say is this was a huge hit with Mike and also this would make amazing popsicles and also… this tea. rocks.

Yum! Absolutely Christmas in a cup.

This is a wonderful spiced black. The taste that stands out the most to me is the “sweet orange”, like a wee Christmas orange :D But a close second is the spiciness – peppercorn and cinnamon in a delish bakey sensation. Amazing tea for Christmas morning (or Wednesday morning, as I had it)

The next day I tried a cold brew. Er.. today! Wow it was great. Like a spiced orange iced tea, gourmet!

I say orange a lot, but orange does not overwhelm this tea at all. It’s really just a part of the larger whole. A delicious tea whole.

Ooh, yes. No additions is definitely the way to go with this one. The milk watered it down terribly. Today it is much fuller-tasting. The base is nice and light, and it tastes exotic and homey at the same time. The pistachio and almond come through loud and clear, and the spice notes mingle around the nutty ones perfectly. Nice!

What a fascinating blend! This seems to be one of their signature blends so I thought I’d give it a try. I’m glad I finally did. I’ve never had anything like it. Sweet, spicy, and nutty. This smells like winter in that it really does smell like baked goods, and the kind of things I want to bake at Christmas. It makes me think of biscotti, in the aroma especially.

I poured milk into this without thinking because I had decided I wanted milk in my “breakfast” tea today, even though I planned to try this without first. It tasted really nice but a bit watered down so I am definitely going to save rating it for the next time I have it. I think it’ll do better without any additions.

Ah! Too hot. so hopefully I didn’t burn all my tastebuds away, but man it’s cold in the boyfriend’s parents basement!
Not a lot of time, as usual, but just wanted to pop by again!

I’m not too sad to see this tea go, however it does fill a certain niche in my tea cupboard that isn’t filled by anything else. A sweet, nutty, donut-like tisane full of win. Any suggestions?

Instead of pink, the beetroot turns the liquid a deep, yet bright red! Think Hibiscus red, with no hibiscus! My brain kept warning me not to drink it, but happily there was no tart horrors to be had haha.

It doesn’t taste as much like minidonuts like Forever Nuts, this one is a nice change as it has a different balance of flavours. It’s quite nice, I love these kind of teas. Light on spice, but not light on flavour (although don’t skimp on the amount, as it becomes too watery. I’ve already learned my lesson!)

I had this one again to compare to other chocolate/strawberry teas, and sadly I got a suuuuper sour taste to the flavouring this time :(
So much it gave me heartburn.

To be fair, I’ve had this tea since Christmas, and since it is chock full of chocolate chips, it might not have aged well.

Nothing a little cream and sugar can’t counter, but not my favourite chocolate strawberry blend. I still have half a tin to finish up, eep!
