Not sure why, but this cup just didn’t hit any of the right notes for me – the base teas seemed discordant and ill-suited to one another and the only flavouring I picked up was a hint of pineapple-ish fruityness that I didn’t find all that palatable.
Not my thing, I guess.
Preparation
And so I used this tea to break 1111 and turn it into 1112. AAAHHH!
And for all this reminds me of cleaning products, I really quite like it. Something to consider in the (potentially distant) future when I’m allowed to buy tea for myself again.
Thanks so much for sharing, MissB!
And as a note, I don’t understand there’s supposed to be chocolate in this? I did not get any chocolate. Even cooled, I do not get any chocolate. Chocowhat.
Yep, I find it depends on the day if I get chocolate in it. Still tasty, and yet… I want chocolate! lol.
This is a terrible description, but also really accurate. It’s like Murphy’s Oil. Woody, lemony, orangey. Not really rooibosy, but woody.
I really like it with a little honey. Really really. Definitely something to consider picking up when I finally make it to a Tea Desire.
(It’s taken me 20 minutes to write this and I totally forgot to thank MissB for the sample! Thank you. :) )

My brother loved this one back in the day. I’m sure he probably still has some lurking in his place since he seemed to get out of the tea craze haha.
well i screwed this one up. was going for a shorter steep..but when i asked my other half to take the tea that wasn’t fruit bits out, he thought i said take the fruit bits out…so this steeped for like 10 mins. sooooo thanks for sending this my way variaTEA (and roswell) but uh apparently 10 mins is too long for this one haha
I thought I had tried this already. Hmm.
This sample is from Fjellrev, apparently. I think. Maybe. Or MissB. Sorry, ladies. I forgot to keep track!
It’s very chocolatey. Like brandy beans, almost, as there’s an alcohol whiff I’m getting off the tea.
But I like it. I really do. With almond milk, and a long steep, this is nice. Maybe not 50g nice, but nice enough that I want to check it out the next time I make it past a Tea Desire store!

With handwriting, you can manage an approximation of the shape of a word and it can still be read as the word. :) It is super neat. It’s great when it’s treated as art, like with graffiti and calligraphy. So cool. What might be neat for you to play with is gold burnished calligraphy, since the paper is generally quite textured, but the gold is super slick from polishing, and slightly raised because of the glue. I wish I still had some calligraphy stuff so I could send something to you!

Thanks for giving me the last of your bag of this, Roswell Strange! Only taken me about a year and a half to write a note about it… I enjoyed my mug of this a couple weeks ago – more than I remember liking it previously (heh, no previous note, but I’ve tried it at least once before). Anyways, it’s a bit old now, so probably not as vanilla-y as it once was, but it served its purpose in my travel mug, and I don’t recall any issues with astringency.
I got this tea as an extra to my order of MissB’s stash sale. Thank you, MissB!
While I mostly taste earthy pu erh here, I also definitely detect some dark chocolate. I am not sure about the truffle part – perhaps it is in the general silkiness of every sip that I take? It doesn’t matter. Overall, it is a tasty and naturally flavored pu erh that serves me real well as a nice after-dinner dessert today.
Preparation
TY MissB for a sample of this tea! Hmm, I totally thought this tea tasted like apricots, coconut cream with a lotta lemon grass. Apparently, it supposed to be pineapple coconut. I think all the floral in this did one of those taste warps that makes it taste like peach/apricots. Actually, a pretty good blend – I like the fruity and creamy in this tea – very delicious, sweet with a long fruity aftertaste. The dry leaf is gorgeous, lots of big yellow rose buds!
However, I found there was too much lemongrass. If I were to try this one again, it be iced.
Preparation
This tea did not really taste like chocolate or almond. It just tasted like the rooibos tea. I doctored it up with sweetener and creamer. It tasted better, but there are much better flavored teas out there. I guess I just expected a stronger flavor out of this tea.
Another sample from MissB, ty! This rooibos is very red rooibosy tasting, with a hint of bitter dark chocolate. Not really picking up the almond, yet I saw them in the dry leaf.
I’m digging the chocolate flavor, though unfortunately I’m not a fan of red rooibos if I can taste it. Though, this rooibos blend is less watery than most rooibos tea blends.
My cup got cold while I was mucking about on videogames and I found this blend gets a nice creamy texture.
Preparation
Ty to MissB for a sample! I’ve been wanting to try more Tea Desire, especially since they don’t do samples last time I bought off them. This blend definitely tastes a little tropical, lots of pineapple, bit of mystery tropical flavor (the mango/papaya) and some creamyness.
There’s some astringency popping out the more I sip, as well as some savory notes. Overall, not bad for a tropical tea, I have really similar tea from lupicia somewhere I haven’t tried yet so I may have to compare the two.
Preparation
Tea Desire, what have you done to this tisane’s soul? I don’t think too many people would want to drink beet juice. I took my first sip before even checking the ingredients. When I got beet juice, I thought I was losing my mind. I mean, geez, other tisanes have had beets in the past to give it the colour, but I’ve never ever tasted it. This tastes like cold borscht.
Beets are great and all, but I wish I tried this before I forced myself to drink the bottle of Sobe I bought on sale. That blueberry one or whatever. Tasted horrible, like pure sugar. Their drinks suck now. Anyway, I’m sure if I mixed it with this, it would have calmed down the sweetness of the Sobe and covered up the beet taste from this.
Don’t let the smell of the dry leaf suck you in.
I had to take a little break from all of the wonderful teas that VariaTEA sent me because I had some icky virus/laryngitis that I couldn’t taste anything. I did, however, drink tons of tea during that time because it literally made my throat feel so much better. Tea to the Rescue!!
It’s finals time and I have a boring day of studying ahead of me. What better way to prepare than with a cup of liquid oreos?! The dry leaves smell like chocolate and vanilla. The flavor is mostly a rich, creamy vanilla like the center of an oreo cookie with just a little chocolate. I was afraid that milk would overwhelm this one, but it really brought out more of the cookie flavor. Thank you, VariaTEA for this one! I saved the rest for my fiancee, he will LOVE this!
-Dry blend has small black tea leaves with pieces of dried dates and pieces of cocoa peels.
-Dry leaves smell lightly of a chocolate cookie. Tea liquor aroma is of rich vanilla with a hint of chocolate.
-Tea liquor is a clear medium yellow brown color.
-Light cocoa flavor with a chocolate finish. Chocolate and vanilla aftertaste.
-Best with milk and sweetener.
-Very good tea. Creamy chocolate and vanilla flavor. Reminiscent of a double-stuffed oreo cookie.
Smells like pineapple, tastes like… pineapple mango, with a touch of something astringent and metallic in it – although I fear that’s me adding a touch too much sweetener than the tea itself. I get little vanilla anything, however it is a lovely tea, I’ll just need to make more and drink it straight to see if the weirdness is user error.
1.5 tsp in 12 oz.
Preparation
Thanks to the wonderful MissB for thoughtfully including this in my order.
There are little heart-shaped chocolates in the blend. Poor things never stood a chance of making it into the tea. I gobbled them up about as soon as I saw them. Nom nom nom. They taste like praline chocolates and booze (though I’m not sure if the booze flavor is real or imagined).
I decided to go twee with this one and brew it up in a little teapot covered in hearts, then drink it from a little teacup. Silly, but fun!
This was initially rather bland, until I thought to add some rock sugar to compensate for taking out the sweetness of the chocolate. The sugar really helped. It tastes very much like a liquid praline chocolate truffle. Slightly artificial, but it works. Equally tasty on a second steep. I’m not picking up any strawberry, but that’s fine by me.

Another from MissB! thanks so much! Chocolate truffle sounds delicious. My tasting note may be ruined though, since I had a couple chocolates before sipping! There was a marshmallow in my sample, but otherwise, this seemed like a pretty straightforward pu-erh. Maybe they meant naturally chocolatey from the pu-erh itself? Reminded me more of coffee though. I love these dark pu-erhs, so even if it isn’t exactly a chocolate truffle, I don’t mind. At least it wasn’t a light pu-erh pretending to be a chocolatey blend! Both steeps were nice!
this one came my way via Roswell Strange I have to say that while i have apparently tried this before, today it was a better cup than i’d say the last time i had it. Might have something to do with the GIANT WALNUTS in my cup :) it was nice to have this one again, though still nothing i need to stock.
