Received this from an awesome friend who I’m trying to get on Steepster! I’m going to drink my way through this 50g pouch SO fast. This tastes lovely! I’m not a huge fan of chamomile but I can’t even taste it in this (on a superficial note: the flowers look pretty when they blossom in the hot water :3 ). This is just the right e of vegetal and caramel flavours and it makes for a smooth cuppa.
0.6 tablespoons for 188 ml
Overwhelmingly artificial aroma and taste.
Rating: 10
Preparation
I was given this sample at the Toronto Tea Festival Steeped Tea booth. I was surprised because they were giving out a brewed blueberry rooibos which I found to be quite good.
I saw someone else review this today and they seemed to like it. Maybe yours died during transport to Canada :(
That is a possibility! Some teas can be quite sensitive! I’d definitely give this one another try if I get the chance.
Amaretto is a rooibos tea that tastes exactly like it smells. Some teas smell great but then don’t transfer their flavour to the actual tea but not this guy. Amazingly similar to the delicious booze. I use it as an evening dessert, lots of people use it to lose weight for the same reason. Allergy alert, this does contain almond slices.
Preparation
This is probably okay to cook with but for the price, you can get a better tea base. This is pretty harsh and to me there is nothing special about it. It’s not undrinkable, it just isn’t a stand-out.
I got it as part of an order to see if I wanted to become a consultant. I think I’ve had enough really great tea over the past couple of years that I can’t bring myself to sell this to other people at the prices Steeped Tea charges. Not when I know that for the same money you can get truly excellent teas.
Preparation
That’s good to know! My aunt is buying me some tea from there and I was looking at what was required to host a party / be a consultant etc, but I wouldn’t be comfortable with it if the tea wasn’t enjoyable.
And again I don’t listen & brewed this up with the gum still in it, when a globby white chunk floated to the top I freaked, until I remembered it was the gum…. oops
I made this into an iced tea in my new beverage dispenser, I ended up using the full 50g in this jug & it was only about half full. I added some rock sugar, because I expected my girls to drink it. We’ll see what’s left when I get home.
I have to say profile wise it’s pretty similar to Jelly Bean Dream, except I definitely get bubble gum aspects. So it could totally be psychological, but whatever I taste it.
It’s sweet strawberry followed by bubble gum. Yummy!
Strawberry wise though it is nothing like Wild Strawberry from my local tea shop, it’s more like candy strawberry.
Preparation
Picked this one up at the toronto tea festival in February. Figured it was time to drink it since i’m on a roll this weekend. Also, in case you’re wondering yes, yes i am going to the washroom A LOT! lol Good news though? Down to 288 teas! Trying to get through another few more tonight to see if i can manage to get to 275 this week. :)
This one? It’s not too bad, though I also didn’t realise that it had chamomile in it. I’m not getting a lot of caramel in this, instead it’s tastes more like a green chamomile tea. It also tastes weirdly like mint..but i’m not sure if that just because i’m smelling my other tea and thinking that i’m smelling it lol
Peaches! oh yes this is peach. Almost like peach juice!! The first steep was anyhow. Very sweet. WAY too sugary on the first steep but the second one was great, balanced and flavourful! The white tea peeked out in just the right way, showing the parts of white peony that I love :)
Third steep was more of the same, but less intense.
So first steep: 72 Second steep: 84 Third steep: 79
Thanks K for sharing the pot!
Ooooooo nice!!!!! I just curled up with this tea and a new book tonight. The books turning into a dud, but the tea is divine!!!! A delicate spicy chai that is perfectly balanced with light floral jasmine and rose. Im drinking it warm with milk and a touch of sugar. Mmmmmmmmmmm, I should have dusted off a copy of my old 1001 Arabian Nights to properly enjoy this decadent treat, rather than the pulpy trash i initially chose…. Oops, is this tea making me sound too pretentious??? One of my new favourites for sure!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
Preparation
I got this one off of a friend who hosted a Steeped Tea party, it’s one I didn’t order. & one I regret :(
This is really good, creamy, toffee, caramel. So delicious, with the nice refreshing white base. Totally in love with this one. YUM!
Preparation
I just heard about this company and I was wondering what they were like. I’m already addicted to pampered chef and tupperware. . . What’s one more?! lol
My husband’s cousin sells pampered chef and does amazingly well! Plus they have crazy incentives. She goes on elaborate trips every year for free. I’m not a people person, so I would suck. lol NOW, if they had a company like that for dog supplies. . .
Tatooed…I have a toffee dream from another company I can share with you..add it to our swap list if you want to try it out lol
Haha sounds good Sil.
Boxermama, I use to sell for passion parties, my upline does so well she was able to leave her actual job & only do the parties. It’s crazy.
Yeah, same with the lady I know! in a matter of 3 years she’s making twice what she used to working a 9-5 and she only does two shows per week. She just recruited a whole bunch and moved up quick!
I’ve been enjoying creaming Earl Grey loose leaf teas for several years now – sampling blends from lots of different tea shops. This Steeped Tea blend is a particularly lovely blend. The iconic bergamot flavour is strong but very well balanced by the creaminess that makes this tea such a memorable go-to for me. In addition to drinking this tea, I have also started experimenting with using it in different recipes. My Earl Grey de la Creme pancakes were a hit at our breakfast table last weekend. My 10 year old liked them even better then the Cherry Pie Rooibos pancakes I made the day before.
Preparation
a new favourite with my kids – I make this into a Cherry Pie Rooibos Latte that has become their preferred hot beverage (over hot chocolate). I’ve also incorporated it into my pancake mix for a special weekend breakfast. DELICIOUS!!!
Preparation
You know cherry flavouring can be medicinal? Yea well not here.
This is like you opened a can of cherry pie filling. Om nom nom!
I swear as it steeps you get a crust scent.
ahhhh yes no sign of rooibos. And only cherry pie filling with the hint of crust at the end of the taste.
Preparation
Smells of creamy coconut, but also some underlying kind of unpleasant smell.
Steeped it’s much of the same smell.
I’m not getting any coconut taste, however this is very creamy & lightly sweet. You get the white tea base following all the creamyness. Mmmmmm
