Tuesday is the new Monday.
Preparation
I’m drinking Christmas Morning on Christmas morning! Hooray. The perfect thing to start the day, along with a blueberry scone, before driving to spend the holiday with my family. Merry Christmas to all! Peace on earth, and in our hearts.
tastes a bit flat today. Maybe it was the stale water. Or the fact that the teabags are getting old. Or maybe I’m finally learning that this tea is not the be all and end all. I’ll wait and try another before lowering my rating.
Preparation
while this cup of tea was boring, the Constant Comment Spice Cake I ate with it was great! A friend made it for our “Cooking with Tea” meetup and everyone loved it. Here’s the recipe from Bigelow: http://www.bigelowtea.com/recipes/dessert/constant-comment-spice-cake.aspx
got a sudden urge for this after reading about PG tips vs. Builders tea. This is just my fave black tea blend (I didn’t drink much black tea until recently). I just love how the hint of floral sweetness blends with the brisk maltiness into a more complex blend than I expected from these teabags. If I could handle the caffeine I’d probably drink this every morning.
Preparation
Still loving it – I swear this blend has made me appreciate black tea again. The malty assam is most prominent on the first sips. As it cools down, the floral notes of the jasmine are more noticeable, but not overpowering. This is perfect with 2 lumps of sugar and a splash of milk. Caffeine isn’t too intense, which is nice b/c I get headaches/jitters with most other blacks.
Preparation
this really does have the well-balanced blend of maltiness and sweetness it advertises. It is similar to irish breakfast but brighter and more nuanced. I don’t drink much black tea, but this is my new favorite breakfast tea.
Preparation
Smell: mainly cloves.
Taste: The flavour is light (3 min steep), but spicey (mainly cloves). Steeping longer would be too much for me. There is a slight bitterness in the aftertaste (that may be from too hot water).
Overall: not bad, for a black tea.
Preparation
Meh, this smells nice enough but it makes a pretty whimpy-tasting chamomile tea. Ah well, this is mostly just to help me relax and get to sleep (because god knows I need to stop staying up until 3am) so if it helps I might up the rating a bit tomorrow.
Preparation
Stash’s organic chamomile actually has a taste — according to my finicky palate, anyway. Sometimes you can find Stash organic variety boxes, so you don’t have to commit to a whole box. Hope this helps.
Honestly? This is one herb that I think I’d prefer to grow myself rather than spend the money on the tea.
Next spring. :)
Well, I don’t know how your taste buds compare to mine, but this is what my taste buds are telling me. Whether or not my taste buds are honest is anyone’s guess.
