YUM! I absolutely love Crème Brulee, it is my favorite dessert. And Simpson & Vail has managed to capture the flavor of it very well in this blend. This is smooth and creamy … and very dreamy! Vanilla, rich custard flavor, and even that caramelized sugar top … all those flavors are here.
The black tea is a moderately strong black tea, not so strong so as to overwhelm the delicate flavors of the vanilla and custard, but, there’s no mistaking that this is a tea and not a liquified dessert, either. It has a fair amount of astringency, and a touch of bitterness that hits about mid-sip. It is just enough bitterness to cut through some of the sweetness of the Crème Brulee without destroying it.
Very yummy, indeed.
I love this! It has a very luscious fruit flavor. The green tea is light and crisp. It isn’t a strong vegetative or grassy taste – those who generally find the grassy taste of a green tea off-putting will most likely find this tea agreeable.
Delicious, delightful refreshment. I am sipping this one iced now, but it started out hot. It is good either way. I really like this one a lot!
Oh yummy. Yummy nummy yummy good!
This tastes and smells just like a freshly baked cookie! Actually, a more accurate description of the flavor would be a almond sugar cookie or a piece of almond biscotti that has just been dunked in black tea. Scrumptious.
I’m loving this.
Complex flavours of apricot, honey, bitterness, and flowers. Very different and interesting. Definitely enjoyed it, but it resembles a black tea more than an oolong.
Preparation
I was reading reviews of Oolong and most surprised to see described as black tea. I like the robustness that can be found in good Oolong but don’t think of them as black tea. Foojoy Classic Oolong seems comparable perhaps. Unlike Wuyi traditional Oolong.
I think the robustness found in the cup makes one think of black tea; at least that was my impression when I had some Oolong, since I only drink green teas and found I liked Oolong as well.
Perhaps I have not made sense.
Backlog:
I started my morning off with this tea. so YUMMY! Cinnamon Chocolate-y goodness! It’s THE way for a chocoholic to kick start their day! Here is my full-length review: http://sororiteasisters.com/2011/09/25/cinnamon-chocolate-brownie-from-simpson-vail/
Thanks to Azzrian for sending me this tea … I haven’t had it for about a year now, and I’ve missed it!
Yummy! The aroma is amazing – it smells just like you might expect it to. That is, it smells like cinnamon, chocolate and fudge-y brownies. My mouth is watering from the aroma alone.
The black tea comes through in the taste, it is a strong black tea but it doesn’t overwhelm the cup. In fact, this is one of the best balanced teas I’ve tasted – it is a harmony between black tea, cinnamon, and rich, chocolate-y brownie. The cinnamon is warm without being too spicy or hot. It is very autumnal, and it makes me long for those cooler autumn days (they are coming soon, aren’t they?)
YUMMMMMMMM!
Caramel! Buttery! Sweet! Sugary! All of these characteristics are brought to the table here. The aroma is awesome – just what you would think it would smell like. The taste is medium-strength over top of the black tea. It’s a nicely flavored black. Again, there aren’t very many Creme Brulee Flavored teas, here, and I’m glad S&V came out with one! Another goodie from Simpson & Vail!
This is VERY nice! Sweet, sugary, buttery, light, smooth! Butterscotch, even!? I’m rather surprised at how FEW English Toffee Teas there are – perhaps S&V is at the beginning of a tea trend, again!? The tea world smiles!
This is a Deee-lite that is for sure! Not nearly enough Guava teas out there!
So…without further a-due…here’s my song association for this one

SIPDOWN, too!
WOW! Upfront…I already KNOW this is my fave Pumpkin Spice Flavored Tea to date! Most of them are too harsh, too fake/artificial, too cinnamon and no pumpkin, etc…NOT this one! This is nice! It’s a semi-sweet pumpkin paired with just enough spice…it’s not JUST cinnamon…there is more to it than that…it seems. In addition it’s quite CREAMY, too! I was rather shocked about that trait of the taste but it’s darn right tasty and has just the right amount of attitude! I REALLY like this! Two thumbs up S&V!

Was it necessary to control the steep time very closely to avoid a very bitter cuppa?
I brewed it for three minutes. I have a Breville One-Touch so, it does the time for me. :)
