Lipton

I had this tea while in Russia. It was the basic staple tea we always drank, and it was delightful. Sadly, upon returning home, I don’t think it exists in this country. Which is ridiculous, because we have Lipton tea. Maybe I’m not looking far enough? Grand tea!

As i’m sure with a lot of people this tea was what started me down my love of teas! I drink it with milk and it tastes fine with or without sugar(coming from someone who started off drinking it with two heaped teaspoons of sugar and slowly downgraded my sugar ratio to none)I don’t have it very often anymore as i now have 17 different teas to choose from rather than two (black or green)but i still enjoy it just as much as i did when i started drinking tea!

One of my favorite “get it everywhere” teas. It is always a must have at home, as its gentle flavour allows it to be enjoyed by many people.

I’m weird person, I like this tea. Smell is heavenly, I love Lemon! This reminds me of summer so much.

Taste is very light, lemon doesn’t jump first like bergamot in Earl Grey. Its delayed. Lemon kinda counters the bitterness. You have to drink this slowly, and enjoy its fresh lemon. You get the “yuck!” feeling if you drink it too fast.

This is a good everyday tea. I taste a lot more orange/jasmine with hints of passion fruit. The taste profile is pretty aggressive. Aroma is earthy with hints of orange peel.

I bought this on a whim a long time ago when I was sick and I’ve had a box in the pantry ever since.

When steeping it smells exactly like Lemsip! Definite lemon scent, but again Liptop manage to get a strange artificial edge to it as well.

The taste is better than expected, although more on the bland side, and it’s not because the bag wasn’t in long enough! The lemon is pleasant, and does taste more natural than it smelt. Occasionally I got a wonderful lemon fresh taste rush through after swallowing, but it didn’t happen often enough for me to love this tea.

I found the aroma to be a bit too strong and sickly sweet. I couldn’t help but think it was a bit artificial.

The taste isn’t as bad thankfully, although I have had much better versions of this tea. The fruitiness didn’t really come out in the way I would have hoped, and it unfortunately this version isn’t for me.

I’m not a massive orange fan, but I like the scent of this tea. It reminds me of an orange squash flavour rather than a pure orange juice. It’s that balance of pure orange against sugary sweetness that creates a smoothness to the tang of orange.

I found that, even after steeping for longer than usual, the green tea wasn’t as strong as I had hoped. However, the orange and mandarin come in subtly as an after taste which is enjoyable. Definitely not overpowering.

This has the most incredible smell, an intense mix of sweet vanilla and caramel. Thankfully the taste is not as sweet as I believe it would be too overpowering. I found that when piping hot the flavour of tea against the caramel and vanilla were a little at odds with one another. However, when it cooled a bit they balanced very well.

I didn’t try this with any milk, which may have been a mistake. I think the addition of the milk would help to bind the flavours better.

Disgusting. I’m not a purist, i swear, but this has to be the worst kind of bagged tea i’ve had. It tastes like the mix of a banana peel and the white, bitter part of an orange peel. Drank this at work for the caffeine, and next time i’ll just fall asleep – thank you very much.

Well…it’s not completely horrible, but it barely has any flavor.

I hate Lipton tea so when my boyfriend grabbed it, I turned up my nose. One day, I was out of iced tea and this was the only thing in the house. I took a chance, brewed it and drank it, and OMG, Lipton finally got it right! This tea is amazing! It’s very light with subtle hints of fruit, and it smells wonderful. This is by far a most refreshing iced tea and at bargain prices, too!

You know what? I’ve figured out what makes Lipton so popular. It’s user-friendly and “drinkable” under most circumstances. Is it my favorite? No. But when you just want a warm mug of tea with a little lemon and honey, this is a pretty good backdrop.

A nice, mild orange flavor; goes well with the hibiscus. It can become a bit bitter if the bag is left in for too long.

I made this tea yesterday, and after a couple of sips, I dumped it down the drain. Bland and tasteless. My parents always drank Lipton, so I thought I should try this again. I wonder if they went to an even lower grade of tea dust, if that is possible.

Meh. I purchased it to ice over the summer. I’m not a fan of the flavour either cold-brewed or hot-brewed. There is more lemongrass and hibiscus flavour than there is orange.

I won’t be repurchasing… in fact, I won’t even be finishing the box. I have too many other good teas to drink!

I had some of this at work. It might be because I had to work a 6.5 hour day with no break and was able to take a 10 to eat something, so anything would taste good, but I didn’t find this to be too bad. It just kinda taste like Lipton tea with a lemony after taste; thought that is probably the citric acid use to preserve it.

Basically I wouldn’t always reach for it or want it at all. However if you want just a plain brisk unsweetened tea, it’s not bad. At least it wasn’t super astringent.

As I sit here I am very anxiously awaiting my first purchase of loose leaf tea from Adagio with my very fetching tea steeper. While I was waiting I figured I could review a brand of tea I am very familiar with, Lipton Pyramid Infusions.
I was ecstatic when I stumbled upon this new brand grocery shopping. The box alone looked so nice and bright and it was on sale for only $2 and I figured it looked nicer than my usual bagged tea. So I snatched up three boxes to try asap.
The smell is lovely. The pineapple is very prominent the longer you let it steep and the chamomile is a soft fragrant background note. The taste is very fruity and a little floral, not as strong as I would have liked though. I decided to add a little agave to see how it takes to it.
The agave surprisingly seemed to bring out the chamomile more than the pineapple. The fruitiness took a background seat to the floral explosion of flavor. Next time I think I will use refined white sugar but for now I will finish this delicious cup.

What’s that? Tea in a bag, by a supermarket brand, not just bought in a shop on a whim but sought online? I regret nothing! I first had Lipton Imperial Earl Grey (well, that’s what I’m assuming it is, because I bought mine online from France, trying to replicate the Lipton tea I drank when I was in Paris, and what I bought tastes just like it [and has the exact same ingredients as the tea Lipton elsewhere calls Imperial Earl Grey]). Clearly, this probably isn’t the best quality earl grey that can be gotten, but I like it. Unlike other bergamot teas, it doesn’t get that annoying peppery aspect, yet has a lot of floral flavour. The downside is that it can get a little bitter and at times have something like a bit of a very slight baking soda kind of flavour. But overall, I like this tea. I feel like it’s got a pretty great flavour for bagged tea, and it’s very drinkable without seeming like it’s playing it excessively safe with its flavour. It’s good with a bit of sweetener and while best hot, can also be drank cold.

I don’t know if the cornflower and jasmine petals are present in big enough quantities to make any difference to the flavour (they’re .5%), but the tea does taste floral in a more complex way than some other earl grey teas I’ve sampled over time. As I see it, one of the main benefits of this variety of earl grey is that the bergamot flavour doesn’t taste cheap and out of place. The tea tastes complex enough for its dominance to be a good thing, and the floral aspect blends in almost seamlessly. At the moment, this is my go-to earl grey, but I’ll be open to other options in future (maybe not earl grey rooibos so much though, since the last one I had just couldn’t stack up to the rich flavour of black-based versions [on that note, I feel like I’ve lost a lot of faith in herbal teas over the past few months as I’ve drank more of the caffeinated ones]. Anyway, good stuff!

This is not a terrible cup of tea, but each bag is not nearly strong enough on its own to make a full cup. There needs to be more tea in the bag (and the bag needs to be bigger to give the larger amount of tea space to expand). In sum, a weak black tea. You’ll taste more spice than tea. Much better if brewed two bags at a time.

This has interesting smell, smoky and sweet. This almost smells like tobacco, but more floral. Taste is hard to describe, but its smoky and fruity. Rather strong taste for green tea. Unlike other green teas, this needs boiling water.
