Loose leaf rooibos with chunks of dried pineapple. Liquor: dark amber or light caramel. Smell: nice rooibos with distinct pineapple notes. Taste: I like rooibos a lot. It’s a distinct rooibos flavor, but the pineapple upper notes and coconut undertones do a lot to round out the flavor and make it interesting. Enjoyingtea.com describes it as having rum notes, and I agree that there are rum notes but they’re subtle. Like most rooibos, you need a good filter or sachet, or there will be sedimentation. But, you also don’t really have to worry about overextraction. I actually use this for a chia seed drink when I need the fiber. 7/10

This is a decent price for a basic grade of Da Hong Pao. DHP is one of the most pleasing oolong teas around: bold, dark leaves with a smoky fragrance give way to satisfactory flavor against a somewhat vegetal backdrop. Has a medium amber liquor, and well suited for drinking with food. Doesn’t have a “rock tea” flavor.

Loose. Appearance: leaves are small, gently rolled slate gray-green. They do look like greenish eyebrows (the name). They become much greener after steeping but lose their shape. Liquor: yellow with green tints. It is a warmer yellow on second infusion. Smell: smoky, earthy, but still green tea. I think it smells like a lot of other Chinese greens. (On just smell alone, I usually prefer the overt vegetal notes of a Japanese green.) Taste: The taste is nice and mellow, with only some bitterness. It is less sweet than other teas, and the smoky notes of the smell come through – and become stronger as it cools. When it very first hits the palate there is a vegetal (dark leafy green) taste, but that tends to fade into a lingering astringency and smoky aftertaste. The second infusion is even smoother and smokier. (Some chun mee teas are said to have a plum flavor and I don’t get that at all). It’s not my favorite green tea but this is pleasant enough. 6/10

Loose leaf. Appearance: small, needle-like green and brown rooibos leaves. Liquor: light brown infusion. The only downside is that there is more than a little sedimentation using my standard tea strainer (the leaves are small). Using a cloth sachet makes a big difference. Smell: clean and sweet. Taste: complex, warm, clean, and a little spicy. I can’t describe the taste with any degree of justice because it really is just amazing. The lack of tannins means that you can leave the leaves in for a long time and the liquor remains smooth and delicious (I left some in before leaving to go workout and even after that it was delicious). And the lack of caffeine in rooibos means that this is perfect for after your caffeine cutoff time (mine is about 5:00 pm). This tisane has a nice second infusion. This also works really well cold. I will fill a cloth sachet with the rooibos, fill a pitcher with water, and then leave it in the fridge over night. This very seriously is my new favorite thing. I don’t like the sediment, but the taste is so amazing that I’m still giving this 8/10. I got it at Enjoyingtea.com. Republic of Tea has a number of green rooibos blends that also look really nice.

Enjoyingtea – Apple Spice (black). Loose leaf. Appearance: leaves are smaller, black, tightly wound when dry, and approximately 0.25 inch (average) when steeped, broken. The mixture includes apple pieces and other colorful additions, and is actually quite nice to look at. liquor: redder than most straight blacks. Smell: very apple-y. I really like this smell. I brewed some at work and a coworker commented on how good it smelled. Taste: soft black tea with distinct apple flavors. It becomes more tart as it cools. It has less astringency than many black teas. I like this without sugar. Sugar is okay, but unnecessary. I’m not usually a fan of flavored teas, but in the right mood, this is great. 8/10.

You know there are days when I just want to plop a bag in a cup and not worry about it. This is a decent oolong for that! Was in a hurry – I may have to leave the house at any moment as grandmother is in the hospital so didn’t want to have to baby sit a steeping tea let alone waste one. This fit the bill. It has a nice flavor distinctly oolong – granted not a TOP notch oolong but not shabby!

Got this as a free sample. Its not bad. Not sure why it gets such harsh reviews. No its not like Davids Tea and does not have a ton of flavor oils in it and no banana pieces floating about but it is smooth, non astringent, no bitterness and it tastes slightly of fresh ripe banana. The flavor however IS lacking a bit. Still its not bad just a subtle tea. I would not buy it again as there are many other teas I would prefer more but its not terrible.

Nutty, smoky but sweet. This is a great everyday green tea. It is less sweet and slightly more smoky than other greens, so a perfect switch for black tea drinkers. It can withstand a large range of steep times and water temperatures and remains palatable even when bitter. The flavors are not at all one-sided, nor are they too elaborate. This tea will definitely keep me coming back for more. Also, I love the Chinese name for this tea: “Precious Eyebrows”!

Tasting notes: Grass, linen, honey, celery, kale, hickory

I am assuming that this is what I have tried today… My steeping parameters sucked, but I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have changed it for the better…

It smells nasty, fishy and like dirt. And tastes the same. Ladies & gents, we have a winner for the grossest tea I have ever tried!

Thanks for the sample, Azzrian, and please don’t be offended :P This is just WAY too earthy for me, and I don’t think I like chrysanthemum either. I’m guessing lovers of earthy pu’erhs might like it more? Keeping my hopes up for the oolong you sent though!

According to the description, this tea was traditionally offered only to the emperors of China. Those emperors must have either been incredible tea-masters, or lacking the tastebuds that detect tannins.

Or maybe I just just an off-batch, but, I can’t drink this stuff. It kind of reminded me of that time I tried eating an acorn. No matter how I steep it, it just feels like a cup of biting astringency. I’ve actually had this little sample tin around for a while, and once in a while, I feel adventurous and try it again. Maybe today, I think, will be the day I can coax some nice flavor out of this. Every time I regret it. Even using almost tepid water temperatures, even using two-second steep times, the intense astringency overpowers everything (which is sad, because I can tell that there really is a nice flavor underneath).

It could be just me, though. I shared this with a friend once and she thought it was great. Maybe I’m just super-sensitive to astringency (or maybe she’s descended from one of those Chinese emperors)

Ah well. Today was the day that I used the last of this tea, to no flavorful avail. Farewell, Snow Water Green Cloud tea. At least you had a very cute name.

Brewed it has a wonderful earthy flavor with a lilting floral flavor but the floral is not over powering nor does the earthy flavor overpower the floral. Its a perfect balanced harmony between the earth and bloom!
Yes it does still have that dirt like taste but nothing like the smell so don’t let that put you off.
I absolute love earthy aromas and flavors so this one is A+ with me!

We have been drinking this iced all day today and it is simply a wonderful iced or hot tea!
Its just the right balance of sweet and tart with natural strawberry flavors and a nice mellow black tea base. Its nothing “fancy” or complex but for the summer what I want is cool, crisp, brisk, and relaxing. Life is complex enough sometimes. :)

Very pleased with this strawberry black tea! I am highly picky about flavored teas and strawberry is one of THE hardest flavors to get right in my opinion.
This is nothing but natural tasting, bright, cheery, and perfectly sweet without adding any sweeteners!
My husband and daughter both love it and it will be wonderful in the summer iced!

We steeped for 4 minutes. At 208 to be exact.

this dragon well has light green with a hint of gold liquer. its taste is not astringent as long as you steep it at the correct temperature and not for too long. on the nose it smells both clean and slightly grassy. the taste has notes of “green things” grass, plants, a sweet hint of flower.

Not sure why I never reviewed this earlier. I’m a fan…It was one of my 1st samples from enjoyingtea that I had to get a larger bag. Nice warm and even nice as an iced tea…(I add sugar and some citric acid)
It’s very aromatic. The dried leaves look so nice and green, very vibrant with rose petals.
The green tea flavor is there, but the cherry shines and the rose comes right after. It’s not an “everyday” tea for me, because it’s fairly powerful, but definitely something I like having around.
I’ve had it iced many times in the Summer and it really took over from my Snapple budget ;)

I guess if they said ‘prunes" nobody would want to try this tea as much? prunes are dried plumbs, so they are not lying I guess. The aroma of the dried leaves does yell “Prunes!” more than “pears!” It has a Ceylon base. Kinda boring, not too exciting, but I wouldn’t say it should be ignored. I’m thinking this tea is better suited to be enjoyed during a meal? Maybe something spicy or rich. It would compliment each other nicely.
I don’t hate this tea, but it has not blown me away as maybe it should have.

Very awesome! Love it! Drink it every night before I go to bed. It’s great with a lot of fruity teas as well as floral.

I didn’t care for this tea. It smells good when you open the tin & during brewing. But for some reason the taste didn’t live up to the smell.

I got a big taste of black pepper & I don’t care for pepper.

Definitely not a winner for me.

I like this…Let me just start off saying I don’t know what characteristics a good EB should have, but I’m assuming something quite strong that would take milk & sugar and be great in the morning?
This one fits nicely. Smooth, sweetish, nice. I like it. Aromatic.
I had it plain.

A surprisingly tasty black tea. It’s brisk with the real taste of pineapple. You feel the tinge of acidity, but still remains smooth.
It’s great alone, but I’ve also blended it 50/50 with a coconut black tea and that was a great “Pina Colada”
I think people need to sample the teas from ‘Enjoying Teas’ more. They are affordable & have a nice selection of teas and herbals
I bet it’s great iced
