Sipdown! Another one finished off at work today. I’ve enjoyed this one a lot — it strikes a nice balance between chocolate, mint and vanilla. There are other very similar teas that I like just as much, so it’s probably not one I’d seek out again specifically. It’s just not unique enough for that. I did enjoy the bat sprinkles that added a green tinge to the liquor, though — that was a nice halloween touch!

I cold brewed this to take to work at the end of last week. I have a huge bag in my cupboard, and it’s not my favourite mint black, so I figured I had nothing to lose. Turns out, I enjoy it much, much more cold than I do hot! I used 2 tbsp of leaf in 2 litres of water, and put it in the fridge overnight for about 10 hours. It’s the oddest colour when it’s done — transparent green. I kid you not. It tastes pretty nice, though. The mint is the most prominent flavour, but it’s not too in-your-face. The chocolate and the vanilla are given a chance to shine, too, and both are easily identifiable. The mint makes it refreshing, the vanilla creamy…and since when was chocolate an unwelcome addition to, well, anything?! I’ll probably use up the last of my bag this way, while people around me look puzzled and say “what is that?” It sure looks odd, so I guess they’re entitled.

Revisited this a couple of nights ago, and was reminded of how good it actually is. I think it’s basically Swiss Mountain with bat sprinkles, but I can live with that. I like chocolate mint teas any day of the week, and this is a good one. Not overpowering on the mint, sweet creamy chocolate…I’m glad I have a 2oz bag of this one!

This is Swiss Mountain with added sprinkles, right? I like the name, it’s very Halloween appropriate, and it made me smile. That’s really all the Halloween there is about this tea, though, if you don’t count the bat sprinkles. I wasn’t, at first, because you can’t really see them among the dark tea leaves, anyway. Imagine my surprise, then, when I discovered that the bat sprinkles turn this tea a murky green-grey colour. I guess it’s the dye they’re coloured with. Add milk, and it looks even worse. I guess drinking tea the colour of zombie skin probably is kind of Halloween appropriate after all, although it’s a little bit off putting.

I drank it anyway. It tastes really lovely, but if you’ve tried Swiss Mountain you know that already. There’s just the right balance of peppermint and chocolate against the black tea, and it’s sweet, refreshing and lovely. I think I’ll be tempted to drink the rest of this without milk, simply to avoid the weird colour. The black tea is a little on the weak side for milk anyway, so I guess it’s not all that much of a sacrifice. It tastes great, but I’m not 100% sold on this variation. I’ll be sticking to Swiss Mountain in future, that’s for sure.

Another tea from Kittenna that i’m sneaking. I added it to Steepster since i figured i should do that with at least ONE of the teas of hers i’m trying to make her life easier. She can then just edit as she sees fit.

Not a huge fan of this one, but i don’t hate it. I wish the ginger was a little more prominent is all. Still a decent enough cup!
