I absolutely LOVE this tea! Perfectly balanced chocolate & chai naturally tasting flavors in this pu erh tea. Wonderful hot, as well as iced. I have already ordered more!

Thanks to Della Terra Teas for this sample! I won it in one of their plentiful Facebook giveaways.

The tea is great. The dry leaf smells really strongly, and that’s good. There are little silver candies and silver flakes in it, which I’ve never seen before, but it actually makes the tea sparkle in the light! I still have enough for one more mug, after this pot plus the bit I parcelled off into a swap, so I’m definitely going to go glass with it.

I taste what is definitely apricot. Which is great, considering some of the lackluster apricot teas I’ve had in the past. I think it’s hard to get right. The flavor is a little bit light, but that’s probably because I went light on the leaves. There’s no astringency or bitterness anywhere. Really, really smooth tea, really good flavor. A winner!

I way over steeped this one, probably 12mins or so. I forgot about it while chatting with my daughter after I got home from work. I’ve had one tea that tasted like a ginger snap. Other than ginger snaps, I’m not much a fan of gingerbread cookies.

This tea is ginger like, but more of a bakey ginger than thie kind of ginger you get from most teas. Generally I find ginger can way overpower a tea and ruin it.

This works nicely, ginger like, sweet perhaps a bit fruity. Not really bakey like a cookie. A nice yummy bedtime tea.

I didn’t know if I’d like this one. I’m not generally a fan of other pumpkin flavoured things like ,cheesecake. I wasn’t sure how chocolate would lend itself to pumpkin.

The dry notes smell kind of like artificial chocolate, musty ick. Steeped it smells chocolatey and pumpkiny
My first few sips I felt it tasted like tootsie rolls. Yummy delicious tootsie rolls, but that aren’t getting stuck in your teeth. This is yummy, I’m impressed. The more this tea cools the more it tastes like pumpkin pie mixed with some chcolate. Another win for Della Terra.

I really love this one too, and you’re right it does taste like a tootsie roll. I’m almost finished my packet and just ordered another one. I think Della Terra is my new favourite.

drank Orange Brulee by Della Terra Teas

I receive it today that the one i win on facebook From the contest they do ! ( Thank you for the contest Della Terra Teas ) The shipping was fast as always faster than most stuff i order from Canada.

My first impression when opening the bag was WoW! that smell exactly like one of my favorite chocolate ( Dark chocolate with Candied orange peels in it )

Once steeped the tea smell just as good orange with a creamy hint aroma and some sweetness but nothing tart about it. I don’t taste the caramel at all well i don’t taste anything except orange but not because it’s seem to miss something more because all seem perfectly blend together i really have the impression to drink my chocolate :D

The tea look all foggy but exept that it is a pretty good tea in my opinion

Now that I’m on my next to last cup of this from the Try Me Pack, I may as well make a tasting note!

The smell on this one is absolutely luscious, in the way Mellow Mango Peach is – floral, fruity, sweet, but not cloying or artificial. And this one has the added smokey/woodsiness (and a slight fishiness) to it from the pu-erh! The feeling left in my mouth after having a sip of it is always cooling – like an all over floral sweetness. It’s also very beautiful, with the rose petals, fruit pieces and cute pearl candies. I’ve had it iced with a little sugar and it’s exceptionally lovely and refreshing that way, though having it hot seems to let me appreciate the pu-erh bits more. And as this was my first taste of pu-erh in any form, it makes me excited to explore more!

Ohhh first note for this tea.

I received my second order today from Della Terra. So many teas for such a good price. But I’m left wishing I had ordered 2oz of them.
The dry leaves smell mostly of apple and the faintest hint of nuts. Steeped it smells more nutty, applet and oatmeal like.

This tea tastes apple like and nutty, its also quite sweet, but not overly so.. I find as this cools the nut flavour comes out more. This is a great evening tea. I have been having a hard time finding night time yeas that are reminiscent of fall and safe for me at night. (Insomniac and anxiety prone, over here)

LOL the name of this tea sounds like it should be a cereal. :)

I agree I mainly ordered it because its name reminded me of my fav cereal, Quaker Harvest Crunch.

Yum! I love flavored black teas, and this is delicious. Freshly steeped, I found peppermint to be most prominent in both scent and taste; but a packet of truvia (one packet for my 16 oz. mug) brought the chocolate out nicely. A great dessert tea.

Dear Della Terra Teas, why you make teas so yummy? I think you may be my new favourite tea company, even above DAVIDsTEA & I LOVE DT. But you Della Terra, you are awesome.

I can’t believe this tea received anything below a 90 rating. It’s too yummy.

The dry notes smell like I opened a bag of truffles, it’s malty, milky, chocolatey goodness. Oh boy! No artificial chocolate in here.

The steeped tea brews up to a nice medium brown colour. The taste…. oh the taste, malty, creamy, chocolatey. Slightly sweet, with a hint of bitterness, everything that makes up the perfect chocolate truffle. And then you get the whole subtly spicy chilis. This is so freakin good.

Thank you! We are so happy you loved this! That is one word that always comes to my mind as drinking this, malty, love it! Thank you again. :)

Sample sipdown! I don’t know if I steeped this weird or not, but I really don’t like it this time around. And I didn’t get any cream at all. Definitely not the cream flavor that some of the new DT blends have. It couldn’t have aged that much in such a short time? The bergamot isn’t the best either. I guess I’m surprised since DT is usually so great and EGCs are usually my favorite. This definitely wouldn’t be a replacement for my favorite EGCs. Lowering the rating from an 89.

Della Terra included this one as a freebie with my order. Thanks! I LOVE Earl Grey Creme. The creme & the bergamot is a perfect pairing with a black tea. This one is pretty good. Equal parts creme and bergamot, but I didn’t love the flavor of the black tea itself (though it never was astringent.) The flavors don’t meld together as well as my two favorites (Element & SpecialTeas which no longer exist) but that bar is pretty high. It IS better than the Teavana EG creme though!

ETA: I’m kicking myself because I just realized I forgot one of my favorite Creme Earl Greys from one of my favorite new tea companies, and this one is still in business! It’s The Tea Merchant’s French Earl Grey! (theteamerchant.net)

Nik

I appreciate this comparative review. It’s too bad your favourites aren’t around anymore, but hopefully you’ll find a blend, soon, that rivals theirs (or surpasses them, even).

drank Lemon Chiffon by Della Terra Teas

Another one of my many sample from Della Terra Teas i choose that one as a iced teas try after seeing so many good review but never happen to try it with the cold weather now the taste for iced tea is gone.

So last night I’ve gone out with friends to explore thing that enter the Strictly forbidden to enter old abandoned place category.

The exploring was fun but it was so so cold nearly -5 Celsius ( yeah that not so much for us Canadian but i was not dress for that low temp) after 2 hour of exploring i was cold to the bone and wet from water leak falling from the roof and a heavy headache i got to sleep at the second i enter my room but the damage was already done as i seem when waking up this morning after just 3 hour of sleep and feeling like another cold is on the way.

Searching through my stash for something with Ginger in it i put my hand on that one and said to myself eh why not i feel like drinking lemon. Holding that hot mug with my laptop on me and watching Supernatural while the divine smell getting to my nose is alone comforting i can’t really taste the cream flavor but i don’t really care this morning that one good and may get in my permanent tea stash i try to put in order ( i love sample but still want some everyday tea )

Another cup was in order this one with honey in a vain attempt to help my sore throat ( nothing beat ginger ) the honey do add a good taste and make the other flavor smoother

Additional notes: Having this one now – I may or may not have just ordered some super-sale Della Terra, some favorites I’ve only have the try-me packs of and some blends that look too nice to overlook! This ended up being the exact cup of tea I was envisioning. This one works better with lots of leaves and a very long steep time (over ten minutes – you can’t hurt it, really). Very tasty! Liquid cookie.

I love these little samples from Della Terra. I don’t like buying teas in large amounts since there are SO many varieties of teas out there, I could only drink a few cups of the same tea within a couple of years anyway. It’s really amazing that there are so many tea companies since not everyone drinks tea. I’m also very thankful that not just one or two companies owns the tea market (kind of like brand name soda), so that there are tons of choices out there!

Anyway, this is good! The steep color is an ambery light brown. Not much of a coconut or chocolate flavor…or flavor from the black tea itself. The coconut actually looks like fresher coconut pieces that I usually don’t see in a blend, so I’m not sure if that makes a tea taste like coconut anyway. And there weren’t too many tiny almond pieces in the blend, so the more noticable almond flavor must be from the added flavor and not the almonds themselves. Honestly, I would have prefered the almond be the most present flavor anyway! The second steep I completely forgot about, and steeped if for about a half hour. It wasn’t at all astringent after steeping so long OR when it was cooled.

Thanks so much Azzrain for this sample! Gosh this is good. I love the sweet graham cracker taste you get at the end. This would be perfect tea to warm yourself up while sitting near a camp fire .

Claire

This sounds so delicious but crushed graham crackers mean it’s not gluten free. So sad!

Cedes

Hasn’t made me sick yet, so far so good.

Claire

Let me know how it goes! I forgot you were gluten free too.

Cedes

Yup felt completley fine. Maybe cause its in such a low amount.

Happy early thanksgiving for the Canadians out there!! So this tea, the dry smell was not exactly what I was expecting..I’m not a huge fan of oranges, and this one was bursting with citrus scent! Couldn’t really smell anything but the oranges, but I thought hey, I won’t be too quick to judge this tea. Good thing, as this tea surprised me in a good way!

The wet smell was still orange, though not quite as potent. Also caught a whiff of cinnamon, which also isn’t really my favourite. But I held out..and the taste is quite enjoyable! The woodiness of the rooibos complements the citrus very well, and as for the chilis/peppercorns, they are there in the aftertaste! A nice warming at the back of the throat :) unfortunately didn’t get much coconut out of this cup, maybe a bit of the smoothness from it?

Overall, this tea was surprisingly tasty, after my initial worry due to the smell. I really want to drink this quite often this fall, the warming sensation along with the woody flavors just matches this time of year in my opinion! Another win for Della Terra in my books :D

I am STILL steeping this tea! I am SHOCKED at how many re-steeps I have got from it! I lost track lol I think probably 6 steeps now! I have worked several hours on one project and this is the tea I keep resteeping! YUM still great flavor from it.

yappychappy

I LOVE this stuff but apparently have missed out on some extra steeps. Glad I have only had it once :)

Azzrian

Yeah I mean I had no idea either. Mainly the reason I was re-steeping at all was because I was too busy and tired to get more fresh tea out. But when I re-steeped the third time I was not expecting much from it lol but I was shocked to find this stuff re-steeps and re-steeps again!

Kittenna

Crazy! I find Della Terra teas generally don’t have enough flavour for re-steeps, although this one I did get one (and tbh, the leaves still had good aromas after that, but I threw them out). I’ll give more infusions a shot next time!

Vortegne

This one has been in my shopping list for a long time, want to try it so much! :D

Morning cup …. still love it! VERY good flavored tea! Mmmmmm yes I needed this.

Vortegne

I love pineapple! Gotta get myself some too :D

I was worried this may be TOO pineapple-y but its not. It has just enough of the pineapple flavor to taste it but this mostly takes like CAKE. This is THE cakey-ist flavor I have ever tasted in any tea.
I will have to savor more of this to give a better review.
What I can say is that I love Della Terra’s flavorings, never cloying, never artificial.
This is very good!

Azzrian

Three steeps in – the sweet cake flavor is still strong!
Pineapple is gone now but I am loving this sugary sweet cake bake-y goodness!

Cedes

Ordering some of this! yay sales and good tea :)

Azzrian

:) Indeed they do have awesome sales!

Ze_Teamaker

Pineapple upside down cake? YES!

Azzrian

indeed!!!!

Meg

No such thing as too pineapple-y! This sounds delicious!

Meowkattack

Ooh, I love cake teas and hadn’t tried this because I was worried that it WOULDNT taste at all like cake. I might have to go order some now…

Sipdown – my second most logged tea! :( this is delicious, and will probably get re-ordered at some point..but I have Lime Chiffon and Lemon Lime Cream Tart to drink down first! A smooth cup of lemon cake right here, see previous notes on this awesome tea :)

Oh, and this is my 300th tasting note! One of my favorite teas for it too :D

grats on 300!!!

Sweet Canadian

Ladies, should I get this, Lime, or Lemon Lime in my order this weekend?

mrs.stenhouse12

Haha to be honest, I can’t pick a favorite! This one is more cake like to me, the lime is more pie-like, and the Lemon Lime is a mix of both. I love them all! Haha, get them all :P

And thanks Sil!

Sweet Canadian

I’m leaning towards Lemon Lime as a happy medium.

mrs.stenhouse12

I also find that one a bit sweeter due to the vanilla, although it is more similar to the lime than lemon to me. The lime makes for a better citrus taste than lemon as well.

Only one cup of this left, soo close to a sipdown! Creamy and tasty although there’s more rooibos taste with this one in the travel mug. See previous notes!

87

I’m very close to a sipdown for this one! One, maybe 2 cups left :P I did a small boo boo with this cup, I rinsed my cups earlier with vinegar to try to remove some tea stains, must not have rinsed the one good enough, because after steeping this I smelled vinegar! I quickly transferred it to another cup and thankfully the flavor has not been affected and it smells normal again lol. This is still a smooth, sweet rooibos, but now that I’ve had Lime Chiffon and Lemon Lime Cream Tart, I can definitely taste the differences. This one is a lot sweeter and more like cake, not as much of a tangy citrus flavor. I’m still having a tough time deciding which one is my favorite of the three! This one might not be as flavorful because it’s at the bottom of a bag I’ve had for a while, but it’s still holding it’s own! Oh, and I decreased the rating a tad just so it’s on par with the Lime Chiffon becaues I’m not quite sure about which one I prefer now lol. I just love the citrus rooibos Della Terra makes I guess. I saw they made an Orange cream now too, haha definitely going to try that one too! Anyways, back onto this tea, still an awesome rooibos, and I will be sad when I finally finish this bag, but at least I have two other good ones to sip :) see previous notes on this tea!
