This is probably my favorite blend with rooibos in it yet. It’s so lemony and creamy, with a really nice and cooling aftertaste. The lemon taste is a sweeter kind of lemon, not sour at all. I think it may be the honeybush in it that I’m liking – there’s just something about all the tastes that are blending together really well. It even seems to have a bit of toastiness to it, like a lemon-filled pastry. It’s smooth (and creamy) and very sweet on its own.
I’m really glad I was sent this as a free sample with one of my orders, since I’m not sure I’d have picked it on my own. But it’s quite delicious!
Preparation
I’m not usually one for chocolate covered strawberries in real life, so I was surprised to enjoy this tea so much! It’s not a completely authentic flavor, which I think is an improvement; I’m more reminded of a high-quality candy than actual strawberries. Sweetened, this one is all flavoring and no tea taste, which isn’t for everyone but is something I enjoy in dessert teas.
another sip down!
And out of lazyness, I did a 1.5 minute steep which turned out very nice! Lots of floral and a bit of fruity over the pu’erh.
Looks like I’ll do a resteep to put in a travel mug for my trek to the post office
Preparation
I know I’m totally weird, but I dreamt of drinking pu’reh all night last night. It was great. Must of been from randon tea videos I was watching on youtube yesterday. With that said, when I woke up and dying for some pu’reh!
DRY: Very pretty tea, colourful rose bits, fruit and adorable little pearly sugar balls. I hate those balls in cookies, always hurt my teeth, but I’m thinking that they would be better in tea!
STEEPED: Dark brown peachy coloured tea, smells almost chocolatey with a hint of peach.
TASTE: Smokey deep pu’reh hit first, with mango and peach flavors slowly spreading through. Slight sweetness at the end of my sip.
Sweetened, MOP peachy mango steps up with the pu’reh being an earthy smokey background. I prefer this tea sweetened.
COMMENTS: Hmmm, I’m thinking you really gotta like pu’reh for this tea, the smokeyness is quite strong unless you sweeten it.
I recently had Della Terra’s Mellow Mango Peach – very different tea because of the different bases. I like MOP a little more for its complexity.
Preparation
I’ve done that before!! dreamt of tea and had a craving when I woke up… I think it was pu-er as well
Won a glass tumbler the other day from the tea emporium here in Toronto. What’s awesome about that is that now I can make cold brews in something with a lid! Lol I’ve been holding on to the last of my sample of this one for a cold brew and I’m glad that I did! This will be a fantastic tea in the heat of the summer! Tethers enough of a tarty flavour to it that its refreshing and delicious. :)
ooooh what location? I go to the Bay and King store but they don’t have to go cups. Probably a good thing haha
Mmmmmm this will be a fantastic iced tea. I made it hot and pretty much after a sip tossed it in the fridge to cool. I don’t think I’d ever drink this hot as there too much wonderful fruity goodness going on here – something I much prefer cold. I’m going to try and bring this to the gym tomorrow for my post workout drink. Also, the color on this one is amazing. I’ll get another tasting note up once I’d had it iced and rate it then. Yay for fruit explosions!
Additional notes: I was craving a vanilla white tea but I didn’t think I had any. Going through my steepster cupboard to pick something, I saw this one! It’s a vanilla white tea made even better by pineapple and peppercorn. So so good and not just because I was craving it. It’s sweet, fruity, creamy and fresh. The new name for this one is Snow Fairy ( I guess that means it’s sold seasonally now?). I seem to be one of two people that tried it before the name change. I love this blend!
So it was between this one and the Pineapple Upside Down Cake to round out my Della Terra ‘Try Me’ packs. I’ve seen reviews for that one since I received my ‘Try Me’ packs that suggested maybe I should have tried that one! Luckily, this one was worth it anyway! It’s a very intriguing & unique blend! The first flavor that hits me is, interestingly enough, the white & green tea blend. Then it’s the peppercorns, which I’m now finding doesn’t really taste like PEPPER per say, because there is a flavor here that tastes much like ESP Emporium’s Butter Truffle that I thought was from the other ingredients. It’s like a sweet flavor, that melds with the vanilla. Then a mild pineapple and apple from the few chunks of those in my infuser! Everything melds together well! I’ve tried a bunch of teas from Della Terra, and only one of them wasn’t exactly meeting my expectations! So many teas!
I received this one in a random sample swap with Jes! So thank you :] Well I messed it up by adding too much water. Oops :/ But it smells like warm pumpkin pie! And I love the little pumpkin candies :D The flavor is slightly spicy with notes of pumpkin. The spice certainly does have a little bit of a bite to it! MM.. One of the better pumpkin teas I’ve had this fall :] A nice start for this morning! Thank you again!

Does anyone else watch Hart of Dixie? I’ve just started. So there is this character, Lemon… who I want to like, I’m waiting to like her, but she has a few thorns in her backside making her lash out at people. She is a real dixie belle, so this tea kinda reminds me of her. or atleast the name does. Chiffon and lemon, what’s more deep south than that? ahhh I heart that show!
Anyhow, I loooooove this tea. Yessum I sherley do! Thank you SO much Azzrian for sharing, you are a generous tea godmother for sending some rooibos gold to me :D
It tastes just like lemon custard/pudding. Or rather, a cross between the filling in a danish/donut and pudding. It even has that pudding factor that made me fall for Sweet Temptation from Tsaa. Texture, flavour, complexity. Oh man I am SO making an order of this. Soon as I cut down on my current stash AND get a job. Might be awhile, I hope to the tea gods it isn’t discontinued by then
I am so making a Della Terra order in the near future with a bunch of try-me packs! And I’m totally getting this one…
OH! Sweet Temptation! I totally forgot I had that tea! Gotta find it and put it in the immediate “try” pile!
gah, I wish I could afford it NOW. I want… for some reason the dessert rooibos blends really make me happy :P
I thought you’d tried it already. Yes yes you must! though it may have lost some flavour in the baggie by now. Dessert blends are prone :(
oh for sure, but this is the one with the best content/hottie ratio, and isn’t too heavy for those days when I need to veg. Still on the lookout for more tho!
Don’t watch hart of dixie, but I do watch Gossip Girl which comes on beforehand. My BF actually enjoys it too. Lol
Sip down, yeah! Gahh, I need to get under 200 teas!
Made this iced! The mango here came out a little different, mixing strongly with the rose. The peach is a great refreshing aftertaste, working well iced. Actually, this is better iced, the refreshingness is pretty good!
Gotta get ready for brazilian jiu jitsu. Bleh, no gi tonight, so overly sweaty class!
Preparation
hahahaha i’m with you there! from 190 to 264 with more inbounnd. lol need some tealovers anonymous or something
Digging around my “haven’t tried” tin, there’s a buncha Della Terra teas in there. DOH! I feel like fruity this morning, to go with a breakfast of leftover wedding fruit platter (strawberries, melons, dragon fruit, pomegranate, grapes, oranges, blackberries) and cottage cheese.
DRY: Fruity peachy sweet! Nice big hunks of fruit in this tea too!
STEEPED: smells of black tea mixed with peach and mango flavors.
TASTE: Black tea base taste, but mellowed out with the peach and mango flavors. Oddly, this tea is refreshing despite it being hot. I could see this tea being very good iced or cold brewed!
I didn’t feel like trying this tea sweetened this morning.
COMMENTS: Not bad, I enjoyed the peachy mango flavor – which is well done. However, this tea makes me think of Fusion Tea’s “Red Vineyard” which is quite similar, but is over the top peach instead of having mango. I should really try MMP iced next time!
Preparation
Wanted a chocolate tea this morning and this one was DEFINITELY chocolatey! Opening the package filled the room with a lovely chocolate scent! The fragrance of the tea was of a sweeter chocolate but the flavor was a dark chocolate (my favorite!) The black tea base was perfect for this. I wish many chocolate teas would have this much chocolate flavor. I think it was a bad idea to get three sample packs from Della Terra… I love most of the teas I’ve tried so far. Uh oh.
Preparation
Alrighty… guests are out of the house, back to writing about tea!
We bought a sampler pack from Della Terra Teas because Missy really wanted to try the chocolately sampler pack. So we picked it up! And a few custom sampler packs… and there was a promotion that they threw in a Fall Sampler free with two custom sampler packs…
So, even though I haven’t been here posting, that doesn’t meant that I’ve somehow managed my problem. ;)
This tea is quite good, though they had me at graham cracker. It is very chocolately, and the marshmallow adds a nice creaminess to the flavor. A very nice creaminess.
The tea base itself isn’t my favorite though. I’m not sure what type it is (and Della Terra’s website isn’t telling!), but it reminds me a lot of the Hunan black I’ve had in a few blends from MarketSpice, that really just rubs me the wrong way.
Oh well, the flavoring more than makes up for it, and I think this tea will probably stick around. Could it be better? Probably. Is it the best tea with graham crackers I’ve ever had? YES!
Preparation
Cappuccino, caramel and rooibos just seem like they should go together! Yum! I received this in my ‘try me’ pack, and I didn’t see too many caramel cubes in my half an ounce sample. I think the caramel cubes that WERE there fell into my infuser. The little cubes are interesting! I love the cappuccino flavor — I don’t think I’ve had that in a tea yet. Sadly, the caramel flavor was a bit lacking. I would LOVE this blend if it tasted more like caramel. Like I said, it’s a perfect trio of flavors!
Preparation
I got this one because I had read a few reviews saying this one was better than DAVIDsTEA’s version. Better? Is that even possible? I feel that it’s probably the same… as was Autumn Leaves the same as Oh Canada.
It smells the same, looks the same.
I have to say they taste the same as well, which is just fine by me. I love both versions and you can never have enough of your favourite tea. When I run out of one, I’ve got the other.
Super yum!
Preparation
Now THAT’S what I’m talking about! This is what a CHOCOLATE tea should taste like. This is even more chocolate-y than my Chocolate Rose Romance was! Yes… I’m saying that THIS is better than my Chocolate Rose Romance. What this one lacks in complexity (my Chocolate Rose Romance was more complex … more layers of flavor) it more than makes up for with MORE chocolate. Della Terra Teas is after my heart here. If only I could get them to change their name. (Sorry… my step mom’s name was Della and I hated that woman, so when I see the name of the company, I just sort of go red, full of rage hatred for a moment).
BUT… I was able to overlook the name to place an order for the fall sampler pack which included this tea and I’m very glad I did. First of all, I’m VERY pleased with the service. I received my order promptly, I got a free sample of my choosing and it was packaged nicely.
This tea has earned a spot in my permanent collection. I will be buying it again as soon as funds allow for it.
This sounds awesome as does the tea you used to make. I always wish when you mention your former blends i was into tea when you were making them!
Me too, I am sad that I never got to try any LiberTEAS blends. Maybe we can convince her to one day make a Steepster private reserve for us… :D
My daughter put me on to this tea company and its definitely one of my favorite companies to order tea from! They have great specials with free tea & free shipping and SO many great teas to choose from! The chocolate tea is the best chocolate tea I have tried…. And I have tried many!!!
The whole kitchen smells yummy when this is steeping!!!! I highly recommend this tea :)
