Lemon. Creamy. Goodness. This was my second Della Terra tea and I was definitely impressed. I couldn’t taste a hint of rooibos. A friend that I enjoyed this with was not a fan of rooibos but said this was one of his favorites. I drink a lot of tea and am short on decafs and this will definitely be a staple. The tea lasted a second infusion quite well too.
Preparation
Mmm. Unvelievable coconut scent, really creamy.
It has a sparkly kind of feel – first tea I’ve tried that really had that.
Running out the door so this is a short note, but this is a decent (if weirdly sparkly) black tea. I don’t taste the coconut I smell, which is fine I guess. I’m just going to add some milk.
Preparation
What a sad sipdown. I’ll miss you oatmeal raisin cookie! All spicy and cookie like… mmm. Goes really well with a bran muffin.
Even worse, is that I haven’t got many chais in my cupboard. Now I need to find one to replace the goodness of this one or buy some more! but then I need to keep my numbers down.
What to do….
Yay!!
I made a cuppa for Dad yesterday, and he loooooved it!!!
When I ask him what something tastes like, he usually can’t pinpoint it beyond the basics of “fruity” or “green” etc or worse, as simply good, really good, or ok! So being that this is really his review I’ll just leave it at that. Still. Definitely a squee moment :D
Four days without internet. Now that was no fun at all! Phew, glad that’s over. Anyhow… Thank you Azzrian!! this was SO good. Really captured the essence of a raisin cookie. A little spicy to, which I was not expecting.
At work now so don’t have the time to write the review this tea deserves :)
That one was good taste mostly chocolate a subtle strawberry taste appear as the tea get colder as i began to taste more black tea i start a tradition for myself to add a little honey just enough to cut the possible bitterness without adding a sweet taste that exacly what i did with that one with just one little mistake from my part it’s was a new honey jar ( the bear plastic one that you have to make a hole it it the first time ) i kinda forgot that … so the top and 1/3 of the jar ended up in my tea .
Whatever drink it says my brain to me it’s just gonna be really really sweet but you like honey so that don’t matter (stupid brain ) preparing myself psychologically for a extreme sweet sip what a big surprise when no honey taste at all ! just the normal tea taste where is all the honey ? but all in the bottom of the mug naturally as i have discovered when i drank the last sip :S and nearly die strangle by 1/3 cup of honey don’t know why it didn’t dissolve but NEVER again i will use honey directly from the jar like that .
Preparation
This was the other free ounce I requested with my Della Terra order. This and the S’mores was really what made the decision for me to order from them. I really wanted a chocolate peppery tea, and I even started a thread in the forums a while ago asking if anyone knew about some good ones. This isn’t bad! It doesn’t have too much flavor either in the chocolate or chili department. But maybe I’m just being picky. Maybe I just except ridiculous amounts of flavor from every tea. That was my main problem with the S’mores tea also, that the flavors were GOOD, there just wasn’t a ton of flavor. But for some reason this seems like a mild coffee taste to me. The chocolate reminds me of a low key hot chocolate, and not many chocolatey teas do remind me of hot chocolate. You can taste the peppercorns, which seem sweeter than they are spicey. And I really don’t find too much of the actual pepper. I like this, but I wish there was more flavor! I once went to a Mexican restaurant and ordered a hot chocolate, thinking it would be a nice spicey hot chocolate I’ve heard the country has, but of course they just gave me a packet of hot chocolate. This tea is much much better.
Ahh! All the chocolate bits in mine melted on their voyage through the mail. Still managed to get the melted bits into the teapot though.
I’m still feeling sick, so I wanted to try this one first of my newest try-me pack from Della Terra. The smell was really alluring – like a perfect balance of minty and chocolate – and the dry tea itself is very pretty (I love green and black together). Tasting it, it’s definitely a sweeter tea – the initial taste is more of a lightly chocolate-flavored black tea, but then the aftercool from the mint hits at the same time as the richer chocolate taste does, and it’s perfect. Definitely a refreshing sort of tea.
Preparation
Additional notes: This one was haunting me, so I had to have another cup today. It’s rare I drink the same tea twice in two months! I decided to follow the 2-3 minute steep instructions this time. I don’t think I did last time. I think the flavor ended up the same. There are slight marshmallow, chocolate and graham cracker flavors here, but they are LIGHT. I’ve tried a bunch of Della Terra teas since I first tried this one… and I could be wrong, but it seems like this black tea blend has a stronger black tea than their others. It still isn’t a very strong black tea, but I think it’s just noticeable enough. I think Della Terra would have the perfect S’mores blend, if only the flavor was stronger!
Preparation
This was one of two teas I chose for my free ounces. I really wanted to try a S’mores tea. I LOVE S’mores. This one and Della Terra’s spicy chocolate tea were the reasons I had to order from Della Terra. All of the elements to S’mores are here! Chocolate, tiny marshmallows and even graham cracker! The fragrance of the leaves is divine. After steeping, the color is a medium brown. Sadly, the flavor isn’t very strong. The black tea base is good, but it might be overpowering the flavor, even though the black base isn’t very strong either. My infuser was loaded with mini marshmallows too. The black tea doesn’t get bitter at all though! I would really like to see a campfire like smokey black tea! Keemun or russian caravan… I really wish this had more flavor, but as it is, it’s very good anyway!
THIS IS EXACTLY THE APPLE TEA I’VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR!! I just got my Della Terra order today. I had to take them up on their sale. I bought three ‘try me’ packs and got two free ounces and free shipping. I now have 19 Della Terra teas to try (including the two free free samples they sent)! I really really like trying things. All because Nicole sent me the Blueberry Creme that I love! They have a ton of interesting teas, including a few apple! This tea is part of Della Terra’s “New Crew”.
This one has apple chunks that give it a delicious flavor! And the perfect amount of sweet cinnamon to have it taste like an apple pie. I really wanted a simple apple tea with just apple and cinnamon and a nice base — rooibos is good! I’m not sure what the yogurt does for this, but it’s great. I really hope the other 18 teas are just as good as this one!
(It seems impossible to get the pictures from the Della Terra site to transfer to Steepster when you register any of “the new crew”. Can anyone let me know how to do that?)
I will go and take a look now to make sure the picture issue is resolved and I will go ahead and add the picture :) I am really happy you enjoyed the tea:)Thanks for the review!
For my 500th tasting note, I opted for this one from my most recent Della Terra Teas order.
I’m upping the rating. This cuppa is fresher and much more delish than the already awesome one I had before. It does taste like s’mores! Chocolate, marshmallow and graham cracker with half the calories…and no allergic reaction for me!
This is really a comforting cuppa. I had a bit of a headache as I started enjoying it and it went away. Maybe it was the childhood memories associated with this aroma, or maybe it’s just pure bliss. Either way, thanks Della Terra Teas! :)
This fall fave was in the package the awesome Azzrian sent to me last week. Thank you! I’ve been wanting to try Della Terra Teas and she really hooked me up! ;)
I love the mini marshmallows in this, btw. This reminds me of my own blend, Toasted Marshmallow (an Adagio signature blend), but there are so many other flavors. The first sip filled my tastebuds with chocolate and a hint of graham cracker. The aftertaste? Vanilla and marshmallow-y. Very cool.
It’s not overpowering, which I appreciate. I don’t care for uber-chocolate teas (please don’t throw tomatoes at me!), although I do enjoy uber-flavorful teas. This has the right amount of each flavor – marshmallow, chocolate and graham cracker.
Added to my shopping list! This is a must for my Della Terra Teas order! Any other recommendations?
Preparation
I think it’s out at Adagio and it’s definitely out at my house or I would have included some for you. I’ll probably end up blending it myself. It’s the only tea my husband will drink!
Another Earl Grey Cream to check off my list! Seriously, I am on a mission to try them alllll. I got this in my envelope from Amanda and was excited since, well, I love EGCs but I am also becoming quite fond of Della Terra. Their Mother of Pearl and Walnut Brittle are totally unbeatable teas, and everything else has been yummy too.
To be totally honest, I kind of have trouble telling EGCs apart at this point haha. Aside from a few standouts, they do tend to blend together. This one is heavy on the vanilla with less bergamot, making an exceptionally creamy cup though it’s not as Earl Grey-ish as some others I’ve tried. I had it both hot and iced and preferred it hot, even though I do love a good cold brewed EGC. It’s good but not WOW blowing me away good, a nice offering but too similar to others for me to really want to stock it. However, if you’ve never tried an Earl Grey Cream I think this would be a good place to start, it’s got a nice balance and isn’t heavy on the bergamot!
Thanks! We just added a new bergamot tea as well. Saveur de Paris. It’s a very bergamot(y) tea, if that’s a word. ha.
Ooh, I was planning on placing another order soon since I got a 15% off coupon in my email, I’ll have to try that one! How can I resist, your teas are so yummy.
I got this in my Try Me pack and for some reason held off on trying it. I don’t know why, maybe I wanted to be in a fall mood? Well, it’s cold today, plus I really want a cookie but I don’t have any.
When brewing, this tea seriously makes the kitchen smell like baking cookies. Mmm! Of course, it’s kind of impossible to totally replicate a cookie taste in a tea, but this comes darn close. The black base has some bake-y notes, and combined with the vanilla and brown sugar flavorings it really seems like some sort of cookie or sugary bread. Delicious! The raisin really comes through, adding nice earthy fruity notes. I didn’t get a WHOLE lot of oatmeal, in fact not much at all but the vanilla/brown sugar combo pretty much covers the baked good base well enough. The cinnamon brings everything together nicely, though my one complaint is that I think there might be a little bit too much in my cup. It’s very strong and not quite but almost overpowers some of the subtler notes.
That being said, this tea is fantastic! A really good, warming cup for a cool fall evening. I think I am definitely going to have to stock this one.
Preparation
That is one of my 17 sample i ordered from Della Terra Teas ( ya 17 lol but hey 17 for 30$ with free shipping can hardly do better than that even more if you are from Canada Thanks Della Terra Teas for the good deal ) I try this as a iced tea first ( Thank DaisyChubb for answering all my question :)) i can’t say it’s bad iced it’s just weird at first ( maybe not the good choice to try iced ) the more i drink it the more i begin to discern all the different taste like chocolate and coconut not bad after all will try it hot ( even if i don’t drink hot black i did bought it for a reason )
Updates : Hot cup right now 4 minute steep since it’s the resteep from my iced tea try a little bitter ( but i find all black tea kinda bitter ) but not much probably from the first steep taste way less than the iced tea should probably have steep it around 5:30 minute once it begin to cool the coconut flavour begin to appear more and some chocolate the almond taste in both version are kinda absent probably hiding behind the coconut
Preparation
I really don’t know why I got an ounce of this instead of a sample. Odd, since I am not a huge rooibos fan. But anything with cream in the name is usually a winner for me, so I went for it! And thankfully, it was successful. I cold brewed this because the last time I cold brewed a rooibos, I really couldn’t taste the negative aspects. And indeed, no medicinal taste here! It is woodsy and has that rooibos-y flavor moreso than black tea, though there’s still some signature black tea notes. A wee bit malty, and honey-sweet.
The blueberry flavor is so damn authentic! Really tastes like fresh blueberries. And the cream, yumm. Ties it all together, this tea works way better than I thought it would. Kind of like… iced blueberry yogurt, only not heavy and very refreshing.
Just finished off the rest of this sample and I’m sad. Maybe that is an indicator that I should buy more on my next Della Terra order.
Love the lemon and creamy smoothness of this tea. This tea is amazing iced too! /sad now I’m wishing I made a pot of another rooibos tea I have more of instead of finishing this one.
Preparation
I purchased this tea as a “rooibos sneaking into my cart”. I had this iced previously and it was AMAZING.
DRY: Smells like creamy lemon drops.. maybe even lemon icing.
STEEPED: Dark reddy rooibos. Creamy smell.
TASTE: Sweet lemon flavor with a delicious creamy taste at the end of sip. Not very funky rooibos taste, but the lemon and creamy works with it making the tea smooth and icing like. I don’t find LC tart, more of the tart essence of lemon, without the pucker.
Sweetened, this tea gets more creamy and mellow lemon. Takes like lemon cake! The rooibos / honeybush here tastes almost caramelly with the tea sweetened.
WHO SHOULD GIVE THIS A SHOT: lemon tea lovers – even if you aren’t into roobios, this is pretty non – rooibosy.
COMMENTS: Wow, this is still amazing hot! Though, iced the lemon and creamy is more pronounced. I’d say this is the best rooibos tea I’ve had, and thats coming from someone who isn’t a huge rooibos fan. So my tea peeps, next Della Tea order, totally sneak this into your Try Me pack!
Preparation
Whoa WHOA!
Just made this iced (double strength over ice, honey and lemon slice for appearances) and WHOA! Creamy! Lemony! Smooth! Awesome! Delicious! Not rooibosy at all!
Need to drink this hot, I’m just short on non caffeinated tea. I’ll do a full tasting review at another time.
Preparation
hmm, I gave this tea a 70 before, but for this morning I steeped it for 3 minutes instead of 2.5 minutes and used a bit more leaf. The flavor is much stronger candied strawberry up front, with melty chocolate taste after and bold black tea. The tea isn’t bitter.
Way better cup that my first cup!
Preparation
3 more rows left on the crazy shawl, however each row takes at least 40 minutes. The edging is supposed to take over 5 hours! GAHHH! It will be done in time, but it’ll be a horrible weekend. I’m going to break it up repainting tea tins and folding paper flowers.
DRY: Smells of chocolate and candied strawberries!
STEEPED: Chocolatey and sweet strawberry smell – Dark brown tea.
TASTE: Black tea base and chocolately upfront. Then a sweet strawberry tang taste pops out. I’d say this is pretty chocolately. Sweetened, it’s a bit creamy and brings out the strawberry more.
COMMENTS: slightly reminds me of DavidsTea’s Love Tea #7, without the floral. However, CCS black tea base is gentler with stronger chocolate.
Tasty, and I think others would love this tea, but not for me as it needs a bit more going on.

liked the 2nd steep better actually
