First time, I think the water was too hot. I let the pot sit for a minute after boiling for the second cup before pouring it over the leaves, and I noticed more flavor. It’s not very strong, but pleasant.

This came in a set with five other LoTR themed teas that my sister (Em) sent me for my birthday. She’s cool like that.

black tea, cocoa nibs, natural chocolate flavor, natural blackberry flavor, orange peels, blue cornflowers, blackberry leaves, natural vanilla flavor, natural bergamot flavor, natural creme flavor
I tried this hot with a bit of agave.
I do not have the most refined palate, however this tea tastes like straight black tea, I don’t get any blackberry or chocolate flavor in my cup. It smells deliciously chocolatey, but I just do not get this or earl grey, maybe with a bit of milk.

Sipdown.

After re-reading my first note, I feel like this one didn’t agree well. It tasted like a spicy chai with lots of cinnamon this time around. Not bad, but nowhere near as good as the cinnamon coffee cake I originally described.

Couldn’t decide what to have last night and settled on this one that I keep meaning to try but never seem to get around to. For the most part, “cake” teas falls short for me — I don’t get that lovely baked goods taste from them that everyone else seems to pick out. This tea, though not labeled as such, totally reminds me of cinnamon coffee cake. YUM! I get a lot of bready notes laced with sweet cinnamon. This one gets bitter as it cools, but mellows out again so that each sip leaves a strong vanilla aftertaste. This one was worth the wait to try!

this is another tea that i’ve had a few times and not felt like logging. Both missB and cavocorax sent me some to play with – which is fantastic because me and the doctor, we’re tight lol However, this blend? it’s rather “meh” it’s just kind of one of those generic black creamy sort of adagio teas that doesn’t excite me NEARLY as much as the doctor does. heh thanks for sharing ladies!

thanks cavocorax for this one. it’s not a bad little chai tea. Still never going to be a favourite but the blending on this was at least something interesting. i like the addition of the candycane which smooths things out a little…though let’s be honest, once you’ve tried a few adagio blends, you feel like you’re tried most of them heh

sorry cavo…. fairly unremarkable adagio non descript blend. :( at least it was drinkable! hahah

Cavocorax

You’re not going to hurt my feelings by not liking a random Adagio fandom blend. :P At least Happily Headless was a 74!

Sil

yep adagio blends over 70 for me usually mean i’m pretty happy with them…i just can’t in good conscious rate them higher compared to my other teas lol

another from cavocorax this one isnt’ terribad but it’s not a favourite. I’m pretty picky with my chai like teas and this one doesn’t really do it for me..but at least it doesn’t taste like “random adagio tea” :)

Cavocorax

Terribad as in bad or terribad as in "I hate it, but Terri would probably like it?

Sil

Hahaha I like that! But now I meant as in more than bad but not quite terrible. Aka terribad

cavocorax let me have some of this and i greatly appreciate it. I am fairly certain that through this adagio journey i am even more convinced that i will never love their teas. I have certainly gone a ways up the hill from hating them to being “ok” with them..but who wants to drink "OK’ teas when they can have AWESOME TEAS!?!?!? not me.

I think An-juli has more blends that i’m ok with than other blenders. this one falls into that ok category. it’s a nice blending of flavours and the cup was decent enough to drink. so yay for that! thanks cavo!

My fiance and I have been working on our apartment recently. Specifically, we’ve been unpacking and finding homes for everything. We actually moved in together last October and had originally planned to make the move in a month-long get organized extravaganza.

Yeah … so that didn’t happen at all. The closest we came to settled was putting our clothes into the dressers and unpacking the kitchen stuff. And – fun bonus – our apartment is seriously lacking in storage space which means there really isn’t a place for everything to go.

To resolve this problem, we bought a hutch for our dining room and, since it finally came in, I’ve been on a bit of an organizational bender. Also a tea buying bender seeing as hutch = more places to store tea = I can stock up.

(My fiance, feeling guilt over his third!!! fishtank, is surprisingly supportive of this. Hmm.)

Anyway. I got this as part of a fandom sampler from Adagio and made it yesterday to take to work. With a little added sugar, it’s not bad, but it’s definitely a bit biting — I’m not sure which of the ingredients is causing that. I tried again today with some milk and sugar and it’s quite tasty. The berries aren’t as prominent and I don’t get any chocolate, but it’s a nice tea to wake up to.

Sipdown.

And just like the first time I had this, it is all cream, no blueberries. Still good, and it held up well for such an old tea. I might reorder this.

Backlog from last week.

My tea drinking has gone down lately between work being busy and the weather getting hot and muggy. I had this with breakfask thinking blueberries and cream would make for a nice, light tea.

It’s not bad. I definitely get a creamy flavor. Seems like the blueberries got lost in the shuffle. Maybe it needs some sugar?

Another sipdown from Sil, which came through her from Schmiracles.
The dry leaf smells like an amazing pipe tobacco. Not that I’m a fan of pipe tobaccos, but that’s what it immediately brought to mind for me.
Which was very unexpected.
With a name like ‘Forest Draught’, I was thinking this would have a base of Puerh, but that is not the case. This is blackberries, vanilla, & a tobacco-like taste. There is an underlying bitterness, & I want to sweeten it, but I realized a little while ago that I’m not really tasting sweet very well today, the entire center of my tongue is engulfed in a tart taste, that I can’t seem to shake. I brushed my teeth, scraped my tongue, sucked on an ice cube, ate some pears, rinsed with baking soda…everything tastes tart. Go figure…
So don’t take any of my reviews seriously today!

Another one from Sil, which I think she got from Schmiracle.
I used to have a pretty good collection of fandom teas from Adagio. My sons & I were really having a good time with their blends for awhile, especially the Dr. Who & Hobbit ones.
So, the first thing I noticed when I opened this was the aroma of almond, which was kind of pronounced. I’ve tried all three of the teas in this blend, but never together. It’s actually pretty tasty, especially with Maple added.

Thanks to Cavocorax for sending me this along with a bunch of other Adagio teas to try!

Decided to have this this morning as I watched a couple more episodes of Hannibal, season 2.
This show grosses me out so bad!! Awesome.

The tea…..not sure why but I’m getting coffee bean taste. It reminds me of Davidstea’s Chocolate Rocket minus the raspberries and with some cinnamon.

No one else has mentioned the presence of coffee beans so I must be mad. I even thought I saw half a coffee bean in the dry mix. Losing it!

So all in all, it was an enjoyable cup of tea but not one I’d buy. I think I’d prefer a tastier base.

This seemed a bit watery, though I definitely used lots of leaf!

Thanks for letting me try it, Cavo!

This tea is fragrant and punches you in the face with smell of fire just like a dragon! This Game of Thrones inspired tea is delicious and comes in a beautiful tea tin. Read the full review here: http://www.abbisiler.com/tea/rhaegals-fire-game-of-thrones-fandom-teas

Sipdown!!

Thank you Cavocorax for sharing this with me. It is a blend I would consider restocking in the colder months as it is a rich and decadent treat. Hazelnut and chocolate really stand out in the cup but a dark caramel floats in the mug as well. Ultimately it is good, and like so many Adagio blends, not the best but as I have now joined the leagues of people in the Hannibal fandom, it is a tea I might like to have around. Damn the power of a name/association :P

Cavocorax

Yes…. a new Fannibal! :P

I attempted to watch Hannibal when it first premiered and just didn’t get into it. However, Cavocorax’s excitement about the show in addition to the excitement of other steepsterites piqued my interest and so yesterday I started from the beginning. Now, I am almost done the first season because it is just that good. And this tea is the perfect compliment to the show. It is a very deep and rich tea that is just a little bit dark while simultaneously being sweet. It really is a great cup so thank you Cavocorax for both sharing the tea and inspiring me to give the show a second chance.

Marzipan

Oh MAN the season 2 finale is worth watching it all.

Cavocorax

Yes! Another convert! Bwahahahah.
I really love the show, but man is it weird. Will weirds it up so much. I wonder whatll happen if/when they finally get to Clarice Starling and she’s just a regular detective without empathy visions?

Thank you Cavocorax for sharing this with me. I am not actually part of the Hannibal fandom so this is a tea I might have overlooked but I am glad I didn’t because this tastes good. Base? present, but mild. Caramel? Sweet, but not in your face. And hazelnut? Just a touch to round out the cup with a hint of nuttiness. With that said, I don’t know how quickly I would pick up 3 oz given this isn’t anything too unique but it certainly is one of the better Adagio blends I have had and am very excited to have more in my cupboard.

Courtney

Is 3oz. the Adagio minimum?

Roswell Strange

For fandom blends it is.
