had a cup of this tonight. it’s still a weird sort of blend for me. Popcorn in here, which doesn’t really seem to add to the blend, but doesn’t interfere with it either. Cinnamon, which is hard to equate to maple…but it works in a weird way. Not my favourite tea, but not half bad. :)
I picked this up on my travels this past week and since courtney was stepping in to bayswater she had me go try this and report back to her lol. Not that she likely wouldn’t have bought it anyway after smelling it because this one smells DEEELICIOUS! but i was happy to report back that this one is quite tasty! There is cinnamon in this, and what appears to be popcorn. That being said, this is clearly a maple tea. But it’s maple+ lol Not sure how else to describe it really. I’m not sure if i’d call this taffy but it’s maple yum. and that’s good enough for me today!
Thank you Fjellrev for sharing some of this with me. To be honest, of the samples you sent, I have sort of been pushing this one off since something about the name had me worried this would be either too much like a pina colada or perhaps it could go another way and taste lotiony. Thankfully, this tea is neither of those two things but with that said, I am still not loving it. It is good but compared to the other Bayswater teas, this is just not up to par. The base is present and smooth which pairs with the smooth coconut flavor but I just can’t help but feel like this needs something more. Perhaps I am spoiled by all the other fuller flavors I have tried, but this just seems weak.
This tea, I love it.
It is so tasty!! A couple weeks back, I had an influx of nougat teas in my life. This is definitely one of the better ones. Also, RiverTea’s Sweet Seduction was really tasty.
Cavo sent such a generous amount of this I added it to my cupboard haha!
I love the scent of this one. So delightful. I also like how it’s sweet, but not artificially so. I can handle a lot more sweetness when it’s natural. This tea I find oddly soothing, in a dessert way. I’m taking a short break from cue cards to watch an episode of Flipping Out. Such an awesome show.
I was also feeling a little crazy tonight, and put some in the fridge to cold brew.
This smells divine. Hehe.
The scent is ever so much stronger than the flavour, but the flavour is still tasty. The nougat goodness is great. It’s sweet, but not too sweet. Sweet in a natural way. It seems even more flavour comes out as it cools.
I’ve now had two Bayswater teas and I really enjoyed both of them. I’m quite excited to visit Vancouver. I didn’t even have to Google their address because it was on the tea envelope.
Thanks Cavovorax for sharing!
P.S. I was packing up all my beach stuff and realized my epipen is expired. Agh! Thank goodness the pharmacy already had refills on file. Phew.
I’m glad you liked this one. It’s fantastic with milk or half and half.
That must be annoying to have to always have Epipen on hand!
So finishing this off as an eggnog latte was a great choice. The eggnog helps create the idea of the custard base while the tea imparts a large dose of the caramelized, almost burnt sugar flavor on top. Delicious!
So I started my “job” on Monday (quotes because I am not getting paid but rather it is placement that is part of my school program that is costing me $15/day for parking) and my life has basically been waking up almost 3 hours early to sit in traffic for what feels like forever to then nap in the parking garage, go to work, come home in yet another traffic-filled drive, eat dinner, and turn in. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. Honestly, if not for my 365 days of tea thing on instagram, I probably wouldn’t have even looked at the kettle this week. Though I guess this is life. Plus, it comes with a cool title which makes it sound like I am legit – “Immigration Case Analyst”.
Work is fairly interesting at least though I am not loving my “mentor” who is pretty fake and seems far more interested in gossiping with the other girls in the area than she is in teaching. Anytime she does give me something to do, it is clearly something just to keep me busy and out of her hair, like filing or organizing the file folders on the computer. Luckily, she tends to pawn me off and have me shadow another girl in the office who is actually teaching my stuff, or if she has nothing new to teach me, she arranges for me to go with someone else who can show me something they are doing. So I am not loving it but it could be worse.
Anyways, back to the tea…I made this as a smoothie and when I took my first sip the first thought that came to mind was that this was a deeper flavor than normal. Weird description but its what came to mind. It is like the difference between milk chocolate and dark. This isn’t overly sweet but still has a great dessert flavor. It is sort of nutty but this definitely captures creme brulee. Add to that the banana element from the smoothie and its like bananas foster with a dark chocolate drizzle. Rich and satisfying while also being a little bit sophisticated.
That’s actually super cheap tbh. The other parking lot nearby we used when we went to buy my sister’s wedding dress and I think we were parked for like 2-3 hrs. and it cost over $40
@Evol Ving Ness, you now need to pay to park at Finch, add to that the cost of the subway, and the fact that Finch parking is basically impossible to find and it is not much cheaper and far less convenient to subway. The alternative is taking the GO train but that is also $14.30/day and requires leaving home a 1/2 hour earlier. Unfortunately driving is the best option and it just isn’t a great one. And the tea is really quite lovely!
I had no idea. You would think that we would want to encourage drivers to take the TTC to alleviate congestion on the roads. But no, apparently not.
Made this as an iced latte and used my cotton candy milk magic straw. Alas, same issue as yesterday where the base completely overwhelmed the rest of the drink. Something tells me I should just drink straight milk through my straws going forward and this is probably better off as a hot cup. Though, I could see this doing well in a smoothie…
Thank you OMGsrsly for keeping me stocked on this tea and Divine Temptation!!
Preparation
Had this as an iced latte made with cashew milk. Just FYI, cashew milk does NOT froth…at all. So that was disappointing but at least this time I remembered to double the leaf. Unfortunately I forgot to put the ice in the glass first and the ice to tea ratio was off and therefore it’s watered down. Even with that mishap, this is still great. There is a rich toasted nuttiness to this and an amazing caramelization. Plus, the cashew milk is providing a lot of creaminess which is making this incredibly satisfying as my dessert. Thank you OMGsrsly for sending me more of this amazing tea!
I still need to try cashew milk but keep stalling since I wasn’t sure if it would be good. But you’ve sold me!

Thank you Fjellrev for sharing this amazing tea! When I was brewing up The Morning Star, I didn’t know what to expect so I wanted another tea that I knew I would enjoy and this popped into my mind. I am sad to see it go as this is one I would most definitely stock (if I lived somewhere I could buy Bayswater Teas that is). It has an almost coffee-like quality at first but as I continue to sip, I realize it is not coffee but rather a caramelized sugar flavor that is bordering on a little too well-down giving it a nice roastiness. I am definitely starting to see where the name Creme Brulee comes from now and I am really loving it. Too bad it is gone :(
Yes I got some of that as well because Fjellrev is awesome! However, I didn’t get a chance to mix them because I finished the Creme Brulee too quickly on its own :(.
Haha. I might have gotten a bit excited about this one :P. Btw, have you tried Sweet Seduction by RiverTea? It is also a nougat tea (like Divine Temptation) but with a green base. It was really good.
I haven’t tried that yet but was considering ordering that when I eventually make an order with them. The first thing that came to mind when I saw it was this tea.
Fjellrev, I have loads and I’m closer than you are. :) I could send some in the parcel I’m putting together!
Oh, and Bayswater does Divine Temptation with a green base as well. And I think also a bai mu dan white. Maybe even rooibos. It’s a best seller!
Haha. OMGsrsly, we have Sweet Temptation, so I don’t think we should jump on any rooibos versions of Divine Temptation anytime soon:P.
Thank you Fjellrev for sharing this with me. It is delicious but it is also very confusing. When I took my first sip, I thought I was drinking a mocha tea and had to double check that I didn’t grab Chocolate Macchiato instead. Very strange but very good.
Someone (Maybe Fjellrev?) checked with the shop – no coffee flavours, just toasted hazelnut. Maybe I’ll make a latte with this one next. :)
I know, right? Even for a burned sugar flavour it’s seriously strong. I was expecting more cream, for sure. But I love the tea anyways. :)
If I focused, I could imagine some creme brulee flavors but mostly I was thinking mocha. A tasty, tasty mocha.
After jump62359 mentioned an iced latte, I decided to look up how to make one. I got excited about the idea but I had no milk. Also, last night when I was drinking this tea, I decided it would be perfect for my first iced latte. So after grocery shopping today, I decided to make it. Unfortunately I was simultaneously making a few different things for my dinner so when I brewed it, I forgot to put in more leaf than a usual cup which meant this was seriously underleafed and yet it’s still good. It actually just tastes like marshmallows which is pretty great. Thank you OMGsrsly!!!
OMGsrsly, I honestly can’t thank you enough for sending me so much of this tea. I has it tonight and though it was cold by the time I drank it, it was still amazing! I always forget how much I love this tea until I have it again. It NEVER disappoints. I have to up my rating because it was seriously delicious. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you Fjellrev for the chance to try this delectable sounding treat. This smells A LOT like the Sweet Temptation tea I had last night which makes sense as they are both nougat teas. Sipping on this now, I think I prefer this to the Sweet Temptation as I think the black base and hazelnut mellow the nougat flavor and really round out the tea. I would happily stock this in my cupboard if it were more accessible and if I didn’t have 25g of the very similar Sweet Temptation.
Preparation
Haha. I have to send you a package, not the other way around. Though I will keep this in mind for the future once I reign in my cupboard again and polish off my half of Sweet Temptation.
Are we just going to keep placing orders together and sharing back and forth? I am totally okay with that plan, just saying.
LOL Ok! My cupboard is going to take a huge hit next week when Shmiracles’ box arrives. So, uhh, it’ll be a while before I can really do a shared order. Nice thing about Bayswater is since I’d be going to get it, there’s no miminum! :)

Made this as a latte with skim milk and realistically this tastes no difference (though I am blaming the milk :P). So, if I had more, I would probably drink it plain since it is delicious that way and really doesn’t need anymore. Thank you Fjellrev (wherever you may have gone) for sharing this deliciousness with me!!
My whales Nordic mug is trapped in a box in the basement so I decided to brighten up my day with a pineapple Nordic mug that I am not christening with this tasty tea! Yay!
It is chocolatey and has a strong coffee taste without being too thick and unpleasant. Yum! Thank you Fjellrev for the sample. Perhaps my next and last cup will be prepped as a latte.
The pineapple mug was so cute! But I have three perfect mugs, none of which I use, because I only use my Spock mug haha. Also, where has Fjellrev been?
