This really should be called hot cinnamon with a hint of other spices and orange. I continue to hunt for a replacement for Della Terra’s Honey & Spice rooibos, as this is a nice tea blend, but not at all like that one, despite listing similar ingredients.
Flavors: Cinnamon
Preparation
I received a sample of this tea in a recent order. It’s really mellow – the flavor is there and has complexity, but it’s not smacking you around. I like that aspect, however the flavor profile isn’t one I gravitate towards. A little too cookie and not enough spice.
Preparation
I got this from Anna’s Tea Shop because I loved Della Terras and they’re the same. I love this one too!
I bought this in April 2016 and I admit I’ve been hoarding it!
I’ve been enjoying drinking from my Harney Royal Palaces Teapot, Teacup & Saucer. It pours like a dream.
My sample box came today, and this is the first sample I tried. There is a nice mild nutty scent. I also get some vegetal notes. The flavour is sweet with a bit of chestnut. It is a subtle flavour, but it goes well with my almond cookie.
Flavors: Chestnut, Green, Nutty, Vegetal
There are maybe 3 teas from Della Terra that I will always always miss, but this Vanilla Tea isn’t one of them!! Cuz I buy it in large quantities from Anna Marie’s.
I drink it every week. several times a week. usually days in a row.
I even mix it with other teas on occasion. to make the other teas better. : )
I just joined Audible for the first time and then binged Robert Webb’s memoir “How Not To Be A Boy” and he said Numberwang in the book! he also said Wanganumb. I laughed sooooo hard.
Dustin – I agree. Lime Chiffon was so delicious. I think I have a tiny bit left because I’m hoarding it.
Careful with the hoarding on that one, Kittenna. The citrus will turn on you after a while. I sadly had to dump the rest of my Lime Chiffon after letting it sit to long. It went flat and had a bitter tinge. :(
Umm apparently I drank this tea once already!
But really I’m here because I told a guy via text I wasn’t interested in dating. After more conversation he eventually asked What counts as a date? And what’s just hanging out?
He’s 15+ yrs younger than me.
I’m 41 and antisocial. Idek what to say. And I’m not crazy enough to google this crap.
I’m not interested in intimacy. Is it even possible to just be friends with ppl?
I really wanna be friends, but is that just naive of me.
I’m bummed and need advice. So bummed.
Thanks for being the only place I feel comfortable enough to post! Steepster will always be special.
I have to say I don’t know what counts as dating any more. It’s very generational, it seems. My 13 year old thinks it means snapchatting and going for pizza after school, and maybe Facetiming. Maybe it’s better not to use any terms and just say happy to be friends but not interested in anything romantic or physical?
Omg I’m seriously glad I asked because that definition of dating is a keeper! Hilarious! I love it so much. And laughing really helped my mood instantly.
I don’t purport to know what dating is. I have been married for 31 years and my husband and I never actually dated. We met and then just…hung out. Listened to music. Played guitar and sang, and then got married eight months later. But what troubles me is that it sounds like this person may have been persistent enough to make you uncomfortable, and that’s not cool. He is pretty young, so maybe he didn’t mean to be that way, and maybe I don’t know enough about what was said and it wasn’t really that way at all. But if he did pressure you and make you uncomfortable, he might be looking out for only what he wants, and not being considerate of you. And we here on Steepster stick up for our won! Go with your gut instinct on whether to “hang out” with him because the pressure might continue, but I do think SOME people can just be friends. Others don’t get boundaries!
You guise are really making my night! Thank you! I don’t think he’s being pushy. He’s actually being very normal which is why I didn’t think it was going there. I’m just THAT awkward. On top of which I’m WAY out of my depth. I value your perspective. Your comment helps me to ask myself more questions!
I kinda think dating and hanging out can be the exact same activities….it’s more about the expectation of those involved. Ie. going to the movie with a friend, going to the movie with someone you’ve got romantic feelings for. If he’s truly ok with being friends then you should be able to do whatever…. it if he’s just hoping to hang out in the hopes that something more will come of it….blah. I’m pretty anti social as well, so I value the time I spend with others a lot.
you guise are Great. so great.
also, you might find this as hilarious as i do.
but his text today simply said “We should go with my two goth girls. They are married and your age. Theyre the ones with the passes haha“
i laughed at myself so hard.
and now this ex-dance-major is REALLY looking forward to dancing!!
i tasted a new tea!
AND i’m logging it!
i hope to log more. i have A LOT of tea to drink.
A LOT a lot.
this was a sample tea that came with my order. (della terra had my FAVORITE vanilla!)
i do like this blueberry tea. it’s just the right amount of berry hint.
and i’m always happy to try a sample.
(i keep checking the site for chocolate orange. that was a della terra fave too.)
Last year during the Midwest Tea Festival I stumbled across one of the Kansas City area’s best kept secrets: Anna Marie’s Tea Shop. The shop is nestled away in Liberty, Missouri—a small suburb of Kansas City—and carries a wide variety of flavored teas. Flavored teas aren’t always enough to make me sit up and take notice of a new-to-me shop, but I had the opportunity to sample a number of their offerings and was immediately struck by how similar they tasted to the teas that were offered by Della Terra before they went out of business almost two years ago. If you’ve been looking for a company to fill the void that Della Terra left behind then you’ll want to check this shop out immediately, especially if you’re missing old favorites like Lemon Chiffon or Pineapple Upside Down Cake Black Tea. Anna Marie’s even offers sample sizes for those of you who are like me and must try all of the teas.

Here’s Hoping Traveling Teabox – Round #5 – Tea #52
Whoa this is one of the sweetest teas ever. The perfect dessert sip! Sadly, it’s the last of it. I love the sprinkles in it and if it wasn’t the last of the sample, there probably would have been other tasty ingredients to make it an even better cup. Otherwise, it’s a cup of cakey maple sweetness. I wouldn’t call the flavor chocolate… but I can’t figure out red velvet cake anyway. I wish there was some beetroot added, so it would turn the cup even more red than just the rooibos. I have a feeling this is the one Della Terra once sold? (Never tried it.) Which means the East Indies Company has it. I wouldn’t mind having this one in stock!
Or Anna Marie’s does sell online if that might be less expensive or less quantity than East Indies. Or… I could probably swing by and pick you up some at some point. ;)
Oh, that would be so nice of you, but you definitely don’t have to pick some up. I guess I was thinking theoretically about my ideal tea cupboard, if I didn’t already have too many samples to go through. :D
I bought this tea from Anna Marie’s Tea at the Midwest Tea Fest as something to fill the void from Della Terra’s Lemon/Lime Chiffon. The loose tea smelled amazing, though the vendor’s representative was very lacking in knowledge.. I asked him about the tea and he just read the ingredient label, taking care to point out “honeybush” as a cool ingredient… sigh
As a red rooibos tea, this is pretty good. The lemon flavor isn’t as distinctive in the taste as it is in the scent. I brewed this tea at starbucks. Note to self: you can get free hot water in any size cup from starbucks and make your own tea if you have a filter/tea with you ;)
Dear Brenda,
If we ever cross paths I would like an explanation of how this is your favorite. I’ll admit that it taste decent, but as far as ‘premium oolong’ as the package says it does not measure up to what I would say is premium. As for the hazelnut, I don’t think I was able to pick up it’s flavor in this tea- however, Anna tea shop has only been amazing so I will give you a try again in the future.
Who puts pineapple, mango, and papaya in a gingersnap cookie tea?
That’s what I questioned but I still bought it… GREAT CHOICE!
This is a wonderful blend of nuts, fruit, and rooibos to create a warm toasty nut flavored tea that is very comforting. The smell of walnuts and rooibos are the two stronger scents from what I picked up and that aroma added great pleasure to just smell before I drank it. The ratio of this tea is wonderful as well as there is not a a large amount of rooibos to take away from all the other flavors that brew out of this tea. If you want more spice add some of their Gingerbread House tea and you will be one happy person :)
Hands down the best smelling tea I have ever had. The taste is a nice rooibos taste with chocolate notes that compliment every aspect. The smell contributes much of the taste of this tea and I am completely okay with that. This is a hot tea only though and of course a desert tea. I have used this at many tea parties to end sweetly with only compliments.
Preparation
The Masala Chai has a robust taste by itself, however i often blend it with Snow Flake teas to give it more of a dessert flavor. This tea has plenty of caffeine to give you a good start to the day.
Flavors: Cardamon, Cinnamon, Cloves, Vanilla
Preparation
A strong and hearty black breakfast tea. No frills or whistles, smooth, no bitterness. I drank with a little sugar but it’s fine without, haven’t tried with milk. Stout and a good go to for the morning. Leaves a nice silkiness behind in the mouth.
Preparation
With all the after-holiday coughs and sniffles, I reached for this one hoping for strong antioxidant qualities. I often have a problem with the color of white tea since I like to sample the tea with my eyes first then taste. While the color is light, both color and taste are very rich in this blend so but I enjoyed it. This was a sample but I think that I am going to add this to my shopping list.
I’ve come to the conclusion that I just must not like Ginger Black tea. To me, it has an almost Licorice taste. If it’s not twizzlers from a bag, I don’t like licorice, eck. Perhaps this is how it’s supposed to taste as Ginger and black, I don’t know. It wasn’t horrible and I could drink it, but it’s certainly not “my cup of tea.” I did love my Ginger lemon green tea from Coffee shop of horrors but with green tea perhaps it’s different. This is the second time I’ve gotten this taste, with two different teas, so can only assume it’s from when a decent amount of Ginger is used.
A soft, light, but tasteful black tea. The background flavours blend well and subtly to create a soothing, smooth, almost creamy black tea. Have had it twice now. The first time I think the flavours came through better, may have not steeped enough the second time. Not bitter at all and mild, soothing, calm black tea.
