100 Tasting Notes
Very unique! I haven’t tasted a tea quite like this one. In fact, I can’t even really describe what the flavor is since I can’t place it. It’s lightly colored but surprisingly strong in flavor without any perfume or fakeness. Very nice for certain moods.
Preparation
I never liked chamomile tea from memory, but drank this sample tonight when I was trying to wind down, avoid caffeine, and read in the bath. I was surprised to find I enjoyed the taste – it was joyful and so different than what I’m used to. Looks like I’ll have to start giving chamomile another shot.
Preparation
A bold black tea that went perfectly with my mood while I was cleaning today and ironically organizing my tea collection at the same time.
The smell is nice and the black tea very hearty – I added a tablespoon, so that was more than enough. Steeped for a little over five minutes. I actually didn’t sense any smoke but I’m used to very smokey teas so I could have missed it. A little sweetness on its own, but I boosted it with a little sugar as I always do. Enjoyed the tea, a feel good blend.
Preparation
A pleasant cup, although not what I was expecting. I don’t have the most sophisticated taste buds in the first place, but I missed a lot of the notes in the first try of this one. I have some left so I’ll keep trying. What I did get was a very pleasant, malty sort of tea with a rich bready taste. Good and comforting. My leaves weren’t purple, but I love the name and the label.

Preparation
This is a smooth and relaxing too but it doesn’t have as much smoke as I’m used to with my regular Lapsang. I added a little extra and steeped three minutes as instructed – the tea is very dark and I can tell further steeping would have ruined the cup. I don’t blame the strength of the smoke on the amount of time, in other words, but just to describe the tea as it was crafted to be.
Even though not smoky, it’s a nice black cup that adds a small difference for a standard black cup of tea. Would be especially good in the morning or afternoons. A little plain though.
Preparation
Very unique, I didn’t know what to expect. I drank while eating a little piece of chocolate, which goes together with basically any tea.
The chocolate taste isn’t that strong to me really, but the tea is very calming and smooth. Every sip leaves a feel of the spice in the throat. I imagine this would be nice for a cold. It’s definitely a super stimulating tea – I definitely had an extra pep in my step for awhile after drinking this one :)
Flavors: Chocolate, Spicy
Preparation
There was an entire debate on steepster dedicated to whether this tea was chocolaty enough. As an oolong chai, it works wonders though.
I love maple syrup and cinnamon so I was excited to try this one. This tea is one of those where the flavors really pop when the tea cools down slightly. At first I tasted a bread clearly when it was hot and fresh; as it cooled down the mild maple came through and sometimes a touch of syrup feel. Very good. I didn’t sense cinnamon though, or pumpkin. The tea is mildly flavored but smooth.
Flavors: Baked Bread, Maple Syrup
Preparation
Very good! I love Lapsang Souchong tea so I wanted to give this one a try. It’s not as smokey as my straight Lapsang, but for fans of this type of tea who don’t care for heavy smoke this should be perfect. It’s incredibly smooth with a light fruit undertaste (as the website states, a bit jammy). The smell is also great – not heavy on the smoke smell but it’s there.
Flavors: Fruity, Jam, Malt, Smoke
