drank Iced Green Tea: Peach by Steaz

We got this in an Imperfect food delivery box. We didn’t order it, but sometimes we get extra stuff for some reason.

This is very peach-forward. After the strong peach flavor, I can pick out the sugar. The can says “lightly sweetened,” but it tastes almost like a sweet tea to me. It’s an 18 oz can and has 20 grams of sugar.

I can’t make out the green tea flavor at all. It doesn’t taste bad… but it’s disappointing. I’m glad we didn’t pay for it.

Funny, I was looking up a (completely unrelated, in no way peachy) tea on Amazon and this popped up as a result. Wonder if they are desperate to sell it, heh.

@Mastress Alita LOL, could be.

Another hotel room find. This is a good chamomile bagged tea. It tastes like chamomile. If you like chamomile, you’ll probably like this. Sorry, I can’t think of anything else to say about it.

It’s a teabag from a hotel room, and it looks like that’s how most people have experienced this tea.

I had to evacuate from my home in Boulder Creek because of the fires. Tonight is my last night staying in the hotel, and I’m finally trying the teabags. The hint of cardboard flavor might be because I microwaved the water in a paper cup. For a basic bagged English breakfast, it’s pretty good.

I tried adding a little vanilla almond milk, but I don’t recommend it. It didn’t mesh well, just tastes kind of weak.

Before I drank the second steep, I had some Moroccan garbanzo beans. The spices left in my mouth totally overwhelmed the flavor, and it tastes a bit like chai now. Which isn’t bad, LOL. But that doesn’t say much about the tea, other than that it pairs well with the food.

Flavors: Cardboard, Honey, Malt, Tea

Boo for having to microwave water and drink from a paper cup, and yaaaay to getting to go home to your normal tea stuff! I will miss you when you lose your Internet, though. Hope it isn’t for too long before we can have Zoom tea again. :-)

Todd, I hope your home is intact. Glad you are safe.

Zoom tea won’t be too far off, even if it has to be in my car somewhere with signal, LOL. Thanks! The house is fine. We’ve been back there already. Just no power or internets, and questionable water that’s only trusted for flushing the toilet till it’s checked out.

I’m glad you are getting to go home.

This tea is bergamot-forward, but the lemon myrtle and ginger are right behind! I think this is the first tea I’ve had with bergamot that doesn’t quite seem like an earl grey to me, not that there’s anything wrong with earl grey. It’s a different blend entirely, and I like it. It’s perfect for enjoying with friends who are a bit mad.

Flavors: Bergamot, Ginger, Lemon

It’s hard to pick out the individual flavors, but I think that’s a good thing here. They blend together in my mouth quite nicely, like a good mulled wine. I can imagine Tyrion enjoying this on a rare day where he wants a few minutes of sobriety.

It does remind me a bit of Bigelow’s Constant Comment, if it were remade from better ingredients and blended better.

Brewed tea tastes of cinnamon! The main flavor is cinnamon, with a bit of pumpkin flavor. It’s summer here, but it tastes like fall! I may have to try it with vanilla almond milk. It’s good for such a simple blend of flavors.

There is something mildly cotton-candy-like about this black tea, right at the end of the sip. It’s also quite floral throughout. It tastes a bit of rose with a hint of strawberry too. I’ll bet it would be great iced.

The leaf smells delightfully lemony!

I was tapping out this tea into my gravity steeper on my kitchen scale, going for 4 grams. I hit 3 grams, and then a bunch lept out, hitting 6 grams! I put some back into the pouch but didn’t want to return any wet leaf from rinsing out the steeper. So I compromised and went with 5 grams.

The lemon myrtle is really the star of this tea. Like the name suggests, it’s like a walk through a garden. A garden with a lot of lemon scents, with other smells peaking at me in the background.

Oops, I let it get cool. So I added a bit of ice. It was slightly overleafed anyway, and it balanced out. Now I’m sitting in that garden on a warm day, cooling off to this tea. A slice of lemon would be great in it, I’ll bet. The vegetal notes come out a bit more for me when iced. This is really a fun, nice tea.

I have enjoyed various teas most of my life, but have recently started exploring higher-end teas. Still, plain houjicha (loose-leaf or bagged) makes me feel like I’m in Japan.
