310 Tasting Notes
This is a very pleasant tea. But I prefer their Dragon Pearl Jasmine. This tea is scented 3 days longer than the other and you can tell.
I had thought that maybe you wouldn’t be able to, but decided to buy some to try it out in case there was, indeed, a difference because of those 3 days.
There is. The jasmine is quite more prevalent… with the other tea it is a whisper, with this one it’s a clear voice.
Beautiful for those that like more jasmine flavor to their jasmine scented teas. It’s lovely tasting and of good quality, IMO, but I’m one who likes their jasmine softer. I’ll stick to their non-supreme version and gift or trade this one to someone who can enjoy it more.
Preparation
I brewed this one a bit strong, 5.7g of tea to 12oz water, due to finishing off the last bit I had.
Again the scent is strongly tobacco and something faintly, beigely bitter. -But again, not unpleasantly so.
The flavor is very much the smell but with the addition of a light sweetness. The finish is lasting and roasted tasting. There’s also a berry quality to the roof of the mouth and nose when swallowing when it cools some.
Again I like this but probably won’t buy it. It’s tasty, quality, but doesn’t hit my “wow, gotta have!” button. I’m glad that my husband bought me the sample to try, it was very pleasant.
Preparation
This smells of green tea and cherry syrup… not badly, but there’s definitely a candy aspect to the cherry scent.
The taste while very hot is a pleasant mix of the green tea with the cherry flavor a little more Sucrets-ish but not strong. It is lightly there overlaying the green.
As it cools the flavor stays quite nice, but that Sucrets lozenge feeling stays in your mouth (especially along the roof) after you swallow. Not as a flavor, just as a feeling.
It’s not bad but I doubt I’ll have another cup.
Preparation
Warning to those who read this: My tasting may be a bit off right now due to some meds I’m on that make my mouth taste funny.
This one’s scent catches you from about a foot or so away. Up close it gives to mind hard-rock candy, woodsy notes, but mostly that strong sweetness.
Tasted while still quite hot this is surprisingly spicy. It also carries the sweetness smelled over to a honey tone. Not strong in the flavor, more of a faint whiff or thought gotten when swallowing. The finish has the sweetness again in a back of throat coating feeling/taste.
As it cools it somewhat reminds me of a black tea in it’s heaviness and medium burnt taste. The sweetness now seems more like brown sugar. The spicy has faded away almost completely.

Preparation
The scent of the steeped tea is very light and floral. It is also sugary-sweet.
The taste when very hot is almost unnoticeable, I’ll have to wait for it to cool for better tasting.
As it cools the floral notes come out along with a smooth, coating feeling with a hint of the seedy/nuttiness common to Oolongs. The floral tones are the majority of the flavor, for sure. The more it cools the more intense the flowers get, but never perfume-ish. Very pleasant.
I’ve not been very impressed with the Oolongs I ordered from American Tea Room. This one is quite nice and my favorite, easily, out of those I have.
Preparation
We are most sorry that you have not like our teas. Most of our teas – especially our oolongs are very highly regarded. If I might inquire have you been following our steeping instructions on the label and using spring or filtered water? I find our Bao Zhong very appealing and it is among the favorites of all of our teas, but then again that is just me.
The scent from this one reaches you from a couple of feet away. It reminds me of burnt walnuts.
I forgot to give a per-sip review of this one, so going to give a final summary:
I’m underwhelmed by this Oolong. It wasn’t one I’d have a second time just because there was nothing great about it.
