Rumpus Parable Send Message

I know this is supposed to be a complex white, but I find it fairly simple on first steeping. A generic white tea taste is the main flavor, followed by a tan sweetness in the back of the throat during the swallow. Almost no finish. It lightly coats the tongue.

I don’t like this. It has a cloying aspect to it. The tea is strong and, while not absolutely horrid, is quite unpleasant.

First steep, 5 sec: Musty and minty. Kind of a woody taste as it cools.

Went with the “traditional” brewing instructions on the package.

First steep, 5 sec: This is very light and sweet in the roof of the mouth. You can tell your sipping a green, but it is subtle, soft on the tongue.

Second steep, 10 sec: A very light bitterness is coming through on the middle of the tongue… not unpleasant, just a touch. It still has that light sweetness. It makes the swallow and finish refreshing.

Third steep, 15 sec: Bitterness is gone. It’s now a mildly grassy sip.

Fourth steep, 20 sec: The green is a bit stronger now and there’s a definite astringency there.

Over-all? A good tea, but not a favorite for me.

Unhappy to say that on further drinking I’m not enjoying this much at all. The tastes that first grabbed me are cloying after having more. I really loved it until the last half of the second cup… then today made a third and couldn’t finish it.

I haven’t had any green tea in a while and this is surely a strong one to return to. The vegetal nature of it is Intense. Makes me think of the skin of zucchini in it’s strength and bitterness.

As it cools I’m able to get more out of the flavor. It has a sweetness around the back of the tongue and throat.

Very pleasant cup.

First steep, 15 sec: It tastes like a wood camp fire smells. There’s also the faint fishiness that many pu-erhs have, but it’s barely there. I can’t tell if I like it or not. It assaults the palate, but after swallowing you want to take another sip. Hm.

Second steep, 20 sec: Same, no noticeable change.

Third steep, 30 sec: Again, not any noticeable change. This seems a pretty straight-forward tea.

I’m going to do some more steepings but am done with my review unless something special pops up to add later.

This is a simple and straight-forward ceylon. Nothing special, nothing bad.

A just-grab-a-nice-black cup of tea.

This has a zing to it. It definitely does not taste like a “standard black”, to me. I don’t get the sweetness that others mention, but I do get something that reminds me of peaches… again, not a sweetness, but the peach taste without, if that makes any sense. Say, more of the skin of the peach than the flesh.

It has a very warm, cinnamon-colored flavor up through the nose.

The finish is very short.

Something that, pleasantly, puts me in mind of soap, too.

Odd tea. Very good.

I’m not a fan of coconut, but I got this as part of a Steepster package and tried it.

It has that toasty coconut flavor to it and it doesn’t overwhelm the tea, but no.
