2810 Tasting Notes
I keep finding the same thing over and over with the Bird and Blend teas- namely that the taste never lives up to the smell.
I wish this tea was just… more. Its in no way unpleasant, but it is not special.
Its the current work desk tea, which is sometimes what I do when it is time to sip a tea all the way down.
There is nothing unpleasant about this tea, it’s just a big forgettable…..
I do this every year, I somehow kill off my tin of Boston faster than I drink anything else.
Alas! A sipdown!
And this blend belongs to the autumn time, so I don’t think I’ll get more of it before the year is out, as much as it breaks my heart to say it.
Farewell, beloved autumn in a cup!
I am a big Wizarding World fan, so when this tea was available earlier this year I pounced.
It smells amazing, but it never quite brewed up as luscious as it smelled.
Well, a sipdown none the less!
I’ve brought this with me to the office, to drink it at my desk.
Poor tea has been sadly neglected, which it doesn’t really deserve. Its an ordinary, but generally nice rose black tea.
I really like rose teas, but it is a delicate thing to keep them from being soapy. This one manages to walk that line, and its going to work well on my work desk.
So, in addition to being a tea drinker, I am also a knitter. I am a total cliche, but I adore the times where I can be curled up in my cozy chair, with a big mug of tea and my knitting, and just feel like Miss Marple. So, when I saw that this yarn company (Churchmouse) I snapped it up.
So Churchmouse has a collaboration with Smith Tea Maker, and there are four blends, one for each season. I am predictable, so I grabbed up the one for autumn.
Its a really nice breakfast blend. Sturdy, just the tiniest bit astringent, and well balanced. I think it would take milk and sugar very, very well.
It would also be a great cup of tea to drink while sitting in a big cozy chair and work on a knitting project!
Love this! Does cross stitching count? ;) I just picked it up again after several years away and spent the weekend just as you described, sitting cozy under a blanket with a big mug beside me.
Happy Halloween!
I’ve been drinking this at work, where it does very well. Its a very gentle sort of breakfast blend, so it does very well at work, where I am sipping and distracted, rather than in a place of drinking tea in full mindfulness.
It also is appropriately named for today, with all the implied spookiness of Halloween!
