429 Tasting Notes
I’m craving chocolate so I did the next best thing to eating too much of it. I actually enjoy drinking Florence more than drinking Paris. The cocoa and the hazelnut are both there and its a very enjoyable tea. Just sit and relax and sip.
Preparation
Nice green tea, I added 1/2 tsp of honey to it. The tea tastes slightly nutty and very smooth. It has the green tea taste and has no bitterness.
Preparation
I like the emphatic nature of the name “EXTREMELY Green Tea” ! Not just “Moderately Green Tea” or “Slightly Green Tea” but EXTREMELY! : )
I’m used to drinking black teas. I think I need to try more green teas as I really know nothing about them. So far the only one I like is Kukicha.
This is a very rich and tasty cup of tea. Its a huge tea bag so I used 14 oz of water. It looks like a huge mini pillow after steeping. I’m going to try and use it again when I finish this cup. At first I thought this was Keemun tea but I think its too brisk and robust to be that. Maybe Kenyan? I wish I knew more about teas so that I could tell, but I’m no expert. No bitterness and maybe just a touch of astringency. This is a very nice breakfast tea and its organic to boot.
2nd steep;
I’m surprised, this cup was almost as good as the first. No bitterness or astringency and still kept most of the robust and brisk taste. I can’t do this with most pyramid bags, very nice cup.
Preparation
This gets better every time I drink it. I rinsed it for 15 sec and then steeped it for 4 min. Its a very earthy, very dark brown tea. It tastes like it smells, earthy. It would not be an everyday tea for me, but its great once in a while. I tried the 30 sec steeps and the tea just had no taste to it for me. It tasted like dark water. I guess thats why everyones taste is different. This way just works for me and I like it.
Not sure what the weight of that would be, but that may be the problem. I use 1g/1oz of water when I do short steeps (which is always). Due to the large leaf amount I normally make 2-3oz cups.
Definitely worth it! I got one that reads to .01 (which I recommend if you’re gonna bother buying one at all) for $15.
I’m getting to the bottom of my tin, which means I will have to get some more of the fantastic tea. It is one of the best teas I have drank. I find little nuances every time I drink it. The smell is like sugar and raisins and it smells sweet. The taste is hard to describe as it depends on the steep time, temp of water, and how much tea you use. It is slightly sweet and tingly on the tip of my tongue. It almost has a caramel taste and a light mouthfeel.( to me coffee is a heavy mouthfeel). I’m getting a nutty like aftertaste (pecan?). Just a great tea.
