429 Tasting Notes
I’m really beginning to love Yunnan teas. This one is 100% Dian Hong (Yunnan Red) tea. it has a full body and a malty-sweet taste. This one is organic and Fair Trade which is a plus. This tea is not as bold as some I have drank, but it has that raisiny sugar smell and taste. I found a health food store in Freeport today that carries all of the Rishi and Mark Wendell teas. nice….
Preparation
I found this on sale at my supermarket on clearance for 3.99. The date was good so I bought it. This is a very interesting tea, you can smell the jasmine and rose petals. It is kind of an aromatherapy. The jasmine and rose flavors are light and mixed with the white tea. Its not heavy Jasmine like Andrews and Dunham Jasmine. Its a very nice tea for relaxing and sipping during the evening. This is not a tea I would drink everyday but it is good for a change of pace.
Preparation
I was surprised at central market (HEB Supermarket) yesterday when I noticed they sale adagio tea (in teabags) and Republic of Tea in the serve your self part of the health foods dept.
I really like this tea. Its robust and brisk without being bitter or astringent. It comes in a huge pyramid tea bad which I cup open and steep. I think it taste better, I know its only in my head but oh well. I wish I knew what teas were used but what ever they used it works. Its organic and has an underlying sweetness to it.
Preparation
This tea steeps up a nice light amber. The smell is like sugary raisin and the taste is very delicate with fruity notes. There is no bitterness or astringency that I can find. It has an underlying sweetness and is very enjoyable. The finish is clean with no aftertaste. I’m not very familiar with Darjeeling teas but I enjoyed this one.
I love having this tea around. I’m not quite sure how it won an award…but it’s a damn fine cup. But it can get bitter pretty easily.
