150 Tasting Notes
Christmas present from the sister-in-law.
This tea smells EXACTLY like that tub of Betty Crocker vanilla icing. That sickly sweet smelling icing. You know the stuff your boyfriends and husbands would probably sit and eat in a whole sitting straight from the tub… or is that just mine?
This tea does well with added sugar and cream/milk. On it’s own it’s pretty lost. The smell is what I can’t get over. For TJ pricing, I would probably buy this again. I’ve walked by people with this tea in my hand and have had them come up to me and ask me what it is… so I guess it truly smells good.
Preparation
Another cold brew. I really like this one. It’s a very soon to be sipdown and I will be kind of sad. I haven’t been able to find it again in stores. They might have re-branded it to something else. Either way an excellent iced tisane. Berry-liscious!
Preparation
My second time with this tea. I still am not really sure how I feel about this tea. I even think I will be lowering the rating. I will have to try this brewed cold and see how it fairs. I find the more it cools, the less intense the thyme taste is, so I will follow MissB’s suggestion at a lower temp for steeping and for less time. I like this tea, but it is definitely a tea I have to be in the mood for. Today was not really one of those days, so I drowned it with whole milk and some stevia.
Preparation
The more I drink this tea, the more I am swept up in the romance of it. I really needed this tea yesterday. I was having one of those days and it was Friday and it wasn’t my Friday. I also had to make my niece’s smash cake for her 1st birthday photoshoot. It’s very pretty in pink and I am really proud of what I accomplished. I wouldn’t say it looks 100% professional, but it’s damn near close and with some fine tuning of my skills, it could.
Anyways, I digress. Back to the tea. This tea IS my favourite DavidsTea they have made or are making. I think they need to rethink discontinuing it. It takes me to a different place in time. I love it.
Today I had it as a latte with whole milk and stevia and it was absolutely delicious.
Preparation
I thought I had reviewed this, but I guess not.
At first sniff: Smells of spices and cherry or that sweet yoghurt smell. I also smell almonds. It’s pleasant with a little sour at the end.
At first steep: Smells the same, sweet and sour kind of. I had mine today as a latte with whole milk and stevia and was very creamy and pleasing. I did enjoy this when I was sick but didn’t get the full benefit of it because my taste buds were off. This one benefits with over-leafing (as do moves DT teas) and also benefits from a bit of a longer steep. In general though, for a blind buy, I would say I am pleasantly surprised.
Preparation
I’ve heard that this is quite similar to Glitter & Gold. I’ve not tried the latter but I did enjoy this one and have been contemplating getting it on sale but I don’t think I’d get through the whole 250g on my own…
I don’t find it similar to glitter and gold at all. I find glitter and gold is more like a cinnamon heart and this one is more like spiced apple or cherry. Both are good. It’s not a bad black tea, makes a decent latte, so I would recommend it at the price for the sale amount. I know 250g is a lot, but I usually give it away to people as samples etc.
This is a classic for me and reminds me of summer time. Starbucks use to have Valencia syrup (orange) and I use to have a Passion ice tea with 1/2 classic and 1/2 Valencia and it was delicious. They have since discontinued the syrup. I continued to brew this at home and ice it. I don’t ever have it hot. Sometime about fruit herbals being hot doesn’t appeal to me.
I love this blend and regularly brew it up iced to up my water intake. I don’t sweeten it anymore because I find that it doesn’t need it. It’s a treat when I do get it from Starbucks and sweeten it, so I will leave it to Starbucks. I’ve also mixed this with some frozen berries and ice and served it in pretty punch cups and people have loved it, not knowing that it doesn’t have any added sugar in it. A good go to!
Preparation
Another morning with this tea. Today I had it with almond milk and stevia. The almond milk brought a different quality to the chai, but it was very pleasant. This is still my favourite chai. It’s spicy, warm, comforting and tastes quite authentic to me.
An excellent decision for me this morning!

I love when my friends and family give me tea gifts cause even though most of them know nothing about tea, they show how much they care :-)
