624 Tasting Notes
An above average green tea. Definitely better than any green tea I’ve had while being out for lunch or supper (I’m looking at you Bigelow and Higgins & Burke!) For a grocery store tea, it’s pretty good! Tastes like what I imagine a green tea should taste like, strong on the plant-like flavour which I enjoy. What lost points on this one for me was the tea bag itself. I hate these plastic-y tea bags. I just don’t imagine them to be healthy or eco-friendly. The other thing I didn’t like was the metallic after-taste at the end of every sip. If it wasn’t for that, I would have given it an even higher rating. I like it but I don’t love it.
Flavors: Grass, Green, Metallic, Seaweed
The first thing I noticed about this tea is the strong smell of the dried tea leaves. My goodness, so strong that it could take your breath away if you inhaled too deeply! Once steeped, the strong smell is still there and it carries over into the taste as well. This tea should have been named “Almond Extract.” Way too heavy on the almond flavouring. It nearly masks the green tea base altogether. I was hoping for a natural, toasted almond flavour but that’s not what I got. Too artificial tasting for my liking. I liked it much better on the re-steep when I could taste more of the green tea and less of the fake almond flavouring. Not the worst tea I’ve ever had by any means but far from the best. This one won’t be a re-purchase.
Flavors: Almond, Artificial, Cherry, Green, Nutty, Sweet
