This tea might be colored by disaster. Let me explain:
I resteed Raspberry Pineapple Luau last night, enjoying my last cup of that particular tea in front of my laptop. I wanted to read an article while waiting for my tea to cool, and didn’t listen to the little voice in my head saying “Maybe directly in front of your laptop isn’t the best place for your tea…”
The article was interesting and, in recapping it for my fiance, I gesticulated a bit too much and spilled 10oz of tea all over my keyboard. :-(
I flipped the computer over in time and kept most of the tea out. However, when my keyboard refused to work afterwards … my fiance and I tore the whole laptop apart to dry it out. This is why you don’t spill drinks on computers in a household of two engineers — all problems are met with “I can fix that, just let me get my toolbox!”
While we were working, I made this tea to calm myself down. I’d been hiding it on the top shelf of my tea cabinet and, with Raspberry Pineapple Luau a distant memory (and stain on my carpet), I decided it was time to open this. Dry, it smells like sweet chocolate oranges — absolutely delicious, I would keep my head permanently in the bag if that were possible. It steeps up to a dark brown color with a dirty film on top that’s not particularly appetizing. And it tastes like a bitter orange. I don’t have many orange teas to compare this one to, but while it gets the citrus flavor (it’s doubtlessly orange) it completely misses on the sweetness of either fruit or chocolate. The chili threads don’t help this at all. Heh.
On the bright side, my laptop is working normally again. And, because this tea is so heavy, there’s not a whole lot of it that I have to go through.
