When I opened the bag I was immediately hooked, this tea smells just like an almond cookie. The almond comes through immediately as does the sencha, but the sencha remains in the background where it should be in this blend. The coconut rasps brings a nice sweetness to the mix giving it a creamy sort of flavor.

The second steep lost some of the almond scent, but it wasn’t any less delecious. I did try my second steep sweetened, but it really didn’t need it.

I have several almond cookie teas all of which are black, this one made me realize what was missing the entire time with those others. The base should have been green, it just works so much better and doesn’t compete with the almond flavor. With a green base the almond really gets a chance to shine.

I made a decision when I woke up today that I was going to break into my green teas. I’ve ordered so many of them lately, but just haven’t been in the mood for them. My recent order from Georgia Tea Company was sitting unopened on the table so I thought I would start with those. I only ordered sample sizes and I have to say they were quite generous portions, but I wish they were packaged differently. They arrived in cute fold over paper bags which stacked well in the shipping box, then the samples were packaged in plastic that I had to cut open. I don’t mind the plastic since I put all of my tea in tins, but I wish they were in resealable bags. They were also lacking brewing temperature on the packaging, I didn’t see it listed on the website either so I just went with my standard green tea temp.

This is quite heavy on the cherry flavor and very sweet, you defiately don’t need to add any form of sweetner to this one. Since it was 53 when I woke up I decided it was a hot tea day, a rare occurrence this time of year, but I think this would be really good iced. If it ever decides to warm up again I’ll make a batch.

I find that the more I drink this the less I actually like it. I didn’t notice it the other day because my head was all stuffy, but this has a funny sort of aftertaste to it that I just can’t get past. It’s a cross between plastic and something else, but I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it bothers me enough that I decided to change my rating.

I purchased the Adagio honeybush sampler about a month back and have slowly been working my way through it. While I don’t really care for rooibos I’ve decided that I really like honeybush as one of my bed time options. It has a sweetness to it that you just dont get from chamomile.

This tea is pretty sweet on its own, but adding a hint of rock sugar really made the mango flavor pop for me. Without the sugar the flavor fell a little flat, the mango didn’t come across as much as I wanted. One thing I did notice was that the mango was more apparent after I had left the tea in the fridge for 24hrs. I completely forgot I had stuffed my leftover tea in the fridge when I had to run into town at the last minute for groceries last night. It made for a pretty good iced tea this morning with breakfast. This wasn’t my favorite honeybush blend from Adagio, but overall it wasn’t bad.

With my first order from Persimmon Tree Tea Company I received a 1oz sample of White Guava. I’m not really familiar with Guava and it doesn’t seem to be a common ingredient in teas, but I love white peony which is the base of this blend. I do have to say that I was impressed with the packaging of this tea, it arrived only 3 days after I ordered it, packaged in an air tight tin which will keep my tea nice and fresh.

After drinking this tea all day I hardly made a dent in the sample tin, this tea resteeps incredibly well. The main flavor that comes across is the white peony, but the guava gives it a subtle sweetness that works wonderfully with the white peony. I don’t really taste the strawberry and only the barest hint of the ginger. The overall flavor is mild, but since this is a white blend that is really what I expected. This is the perfect addition to my summer rotation, I can’t wait to try it iced tomorrow because I’m sure it will be amazing.

This is my second peach oolong of the day and it is much more like what I was looking for, the first one was a little dissapointing. The peach, oolong, and green tea each come through nicely in this blend. I absolutely love that I can taste all three flavors and the peach doesn’t overshadow any of the other ingredients. It has a nice sweet and juicy taste from the peach that makes this perfect for a hot day like today. What I was most excited about was that this was just as good hot as it was at room temperature and it resteeped well.
