Once again Della Terra doesn’t let me down. I am constantly on the look out for the ultimate Earl Grey tea, it’s always been one of my favorites. I’m not sure if this is it, but this is pretty darn good and if you haven’t tried it, you should. I’ve been drinking it pretty much non stop for the last two days, which considering how much I crave variety in my tea, really says something.

This is my first Earl Grey Creme and I’m wondering how I made it this far without trying one before. This isn’t an EG that hits you in the face like many of the others I’ve tried. This is much more subtle, with the vanilla coming through the strongest giving a nice creamy taste, followed up by the citrus bite from the bergamot. I was surprised a bit by how little bergamot was present in this, it tends to be much more present in EGs in general. I’m not sure if this is typical of an EGC or just Della Terra’s take on an EGC. Guess I’ll have to go buy some from a different company and find out (and boy won’t that be a hardship)

I’m really interested to find out how this works as a tea latte since EG is my tea of choice for those. It’s a shame I didn’t order more of this with my last order, I’ll have to wait awhile to find out.

This is one of the least earl grey-y earl greys I’ve ever had, but that’s not a dis on it because it is so, so delicious. Haven’t found a creamier, richer EGC yet.

I just received this from momo with a bunch of other teas she was selling off, thanks momo :) I’m enjoying them immensely. In fact two of them are completely gone already (I’m such a glutton).

I don’t normally like chocolate teas, but this one was absolutely perfect. It has a great balance between the chocolate and the mint while the vanilla flavor gives it a creamy sort of feel with each sip. The black tea is pretty mellow and totally hidden by the flavoring, but for this particular blend that doesn’t bother me.

I have to admit something, I really hate sprinkles in my tea. I’m not a tea purist by any means, but something about them seems a little odd to me. They rank up there with tea that sparkles… my tea shouldn’t do that either. All that being said, those mini candy cane sprinkles are just so darn cute.

It really is a shame this is a seasonal tea since I have so little of it.

The taste, oh wow, the taste… it reminded me of those bulk sized canned oversweetened things they tried to pass off as pears in the cafeteria when I was in elementary school. I refused to eat them then and I really don’t want that flavor in my tea.
This tea just disappointed on so many different levels. I wanted it to be less sweet and more of a suble pear flavor, allowing me to taste the white base. I love white tea and even in a flavored blend I want to be able to taste it, not just the flavoring. I also think the apple pieces may have contributed to the oversweetness of this blend. I can really taste the apple while this is hot, so I pulled one out of the mix to taste, it’s incredibly sweet for an apple.

I am always interested in swapping so if you see anything in my cupboard that you want to try just send me a message. Please keep in mind that I order most of my teas in sample sizes and may not have a lot to swap. I’m also trying to keep my swaps limited to one a month so I don’t break the bank.

My favorite tea companies to order from are American Tea Room, Rishi, TeaVivre, and Single Origin Teas, however I am constantly lured away from my favorites by a good sale.

Ingredients I love in tea
rose, peach, oolong, osmanthus, vanilla, marshmallow root and peppermint

Ingredients I dislike in tea:
spearmint, chocolate, orange, hibiscus, sage and for the most part lemon.

I am a firm believer that sage only belongs in my thanksgiving stuffing/dressing and absolutely not in my tea.

Allergies
Cinnamon, Chocolate, Burdock Root, and Goji Berries

Teawares:
FORLIFE Curve Teapot, 24oz
Adagio ingenuiTEA, 16oz
Adagio Iced ingenuiTEA, 32oz
Zojirushi Water Pot, 4L
Libbey Country Fair drinking jars for ice tea
TeaVivre Travel Gaiwan

Rating Guidelines:

100 – 90: Pantry essential and some of my all time favorites that I can’t live without.

89 – 80: You’ll have a pretty good chance of finding this is my pantry on a regular basis, but it isn’t the end of the world if I run out.

79 – 70: I might consider restocking this at some point if the price was right.

69 – 40: Not undrinkable, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it again.

39 – 20: What in the world were they thinking? Probably still finished this just because I hate to waste anything.

19 – 0: Wow, that’s so terrible chances are pretty good I dumped it out and gave away the rest.

My current top five favorite teas:

China Black – Rishi Tea
Earl Grey Cream – Zen Tea
Lemoncello – American Tea Room
Nonpareil Anxi Qing Xiang TieGuanYin Oolong – TeaVivre
White Tea Rose Mélange – Rishi Tea
