1113 Tasting Notes
Finally completely over my head cold and able to try my final TeaAve sample this weekend!
All of these teas were wonderful. The Magnolia was the most subtle of the floral scented ones I received. The creamy, smooth oolong really shines through!
I really want to order more of the jasmine oolong. It is probably my favorite jasmine tea I’ve ever tried. I’d really like to try the ginger lily next time too. Thanks again TeaAve for these wonderful samples! Definitely recommended!!!
My TeaAve samples are sitting on my desk, whispering, “Drink us!” I’ve been so busy, I didn’t want to drink them until I really had time to appreciate them. This week I’m on spring break, so I believe this will be the week! :)
Thank you for this tea Marzipan and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Roswell Strange <3
Yum!!!! This is the best rice sheng I’ve had. The other one I tried was more bitter. This one is smooth and savory and delicious :)
Also funny…one of my coworkers just asked me why he smells crackers. Pretty sure it’s the rice tea :P
I dunno Dodo, there was a funny story about my coworker smelling this tea and thinking it was crackers…
Thanks to a special tea friend for a sample of this one!
This tea lives up to its name! I like it very much. Very clean and sweet shou. I can’t really think of any descriptors other than that. It’s not particularly fruity or creamy or chocolatey, just good shou! I guess it is a little nutty tasting? Yeah, sweet and nutty :)
I checked the price on ebay and it’s not bad either. Would consider purchasing…trying to not go crazy and hoard too many puerh cakes just yet, hehe.
Last Wymm Tea sample!
These have all been good, especially the sheng. I’m a fan of jingmai…I say it tastes like floral custard. YUM! This one has a great thick mouthfeel, and nice sweetness to pleasant bitterness balance. Thanks again Wymm Tea this one is a winner :)
Thank you so much Wymm Tea for this sample.
This sheng tastes like springtime! Heady, buttery floral dominates, with a honey sweetness, balanced out by a pleasant bitterness. There is a little hay/straw flavor that reminds me of a white tea.
It has plenty of flavor and complexity without the punchy agressiveness some young sheng seem to have.
VERY tasty. Something I would drink again :)
Thank you Wymm Tea for the samples for review!
I was impressed with Wymm’s presentation on the samples. https://instagram.com/p/z8s0NVxhy7/?modal=true It shows how much care they put into curating their teas for sure!
I decided to try the 5th grade shou on this chilly Sunday morning. I rinsed it three times instead of my customary twice for shou. It is a good solid clean tasting tea. Early steeps have a little woody taste. It is rich and a little sweet. https://instagram.com/p/z-J9pMxh7j/?modal=true
Later steeps the wood went away and it developed a dried fruit note. I really like shou with either a cocoa note or a fruit note, so I was quite pleased by this! https://instagram.com/p/z-MXu4xhxY/
Thanks again to Tashi and Sgrodka, I am really looking forward to trying the other three teas!
