The first time I tried Matévana, was in a blend with Cococaramel Sea Salt. It was simply delicious, and I would really suggest you all try that blend.

So I guess you can all tell that this will be a good review ;) This is another coffee-like tea mixed with rooibos. This one is more chocolatey. It’s not a rich chocolatey flavor, but it’s noticeable. there is also a slight floral note from the marigold petals, and the rooibos tea just brings it all together and makes the tea very smooth and wonderful.

This also makes a good morning tea, served hot is best, in my opinion.

drank Currant Affair by DAVIDsTEA

I remember when I was younger when I would have a sore throat, I would take these black currant flavored lozenges. I didn’t even know what black current was at that point. This tea triggered my “flavor memories” or what ever you like to call them.

It tastes EXACTLY like those lozenges; very medicinal, and artificial. After a few sips, it became a bit sickening to drink. There was not even a trace of the rooibos. But I could imagine that if you had a sore throat, this would help it very much..

For all of you coffee drinkers out there (and I would include myself in this group) this will be right up your alley. There apparently is no coffee beans in here, but it does manage to get that coffee taste from roasting the maté leaves and flavorings. Then they add in a bit of cocoa, to deepen the flavor profile.

It’s a really great morning tea, but I find that when if you’re going to drink it straight, it’s best hot. It get really gross when it cools off. But this is a really great tea to blend and add things to. Have fun!

drank Creme Brulee by DAVIDsTEA

It’s not that it’s bad or anything. It does actually, kind of taste like crème brûlée, but of course it’s in tea form, so it’s like watered-down crème brûlée. You can’t really expect a tea to be all that rich and creamy. We have to be realistic here. The rooibos acts as a fantastic base, for this tea, I can really taste it, and it brings all the other flavors together.

this is one tea I can’t really tolerate straight. But if you make instant hot chocolate with it… OMG

Seeing as this is a straight black tea, I was not expecting a huge flavor profile. It has a lovely black tea base and a strong and powerful hickory-smoked type of flavor. I would not say that it is overwhelming (considered that it is brewed properly), it is just strong, a good strong. I think that if it was more subtle, it would still be great!
