76 Tasting Notes
Thank you Laurent for this sample! This unfortunately isn’t the Earl Grey for me. I love a lot of bergamot and I found this tea was black tea with hint of bergamot.. Out of curiosity I tasted it hot and then let it cool down and tried it iced. Not bad either way but not a full blown Earl Grey.
This tea is quite a mix of different flavors. Between work and wedding planning it has been a very stressful week already (it’s only Tuesday?!) and I heard Tulsi can be calming. I feel a bit calmer and relaxed but hot tea usually does that. This tea tastes of fairly strong lemon and pepper, an interesting mix.
I received this sample from Just Organic. My fiance and I shared a mug of this last night and we didn’t agree on what it tasted like. He tasted black tea, vanilla, and maple syrup. And I swear it tasted like vanilla indian food to me. I have no idea why but I thought it smelled like I walked into an indian restaurant. Cardamom, curry. So I didn’t love it because my tastes buds seemed a little off.
I haven’t tried any of my Just Organic samples yet, but the samples were only in tiny single bags and I noticed that pretty much all the teas smelled like the spice one. So maybe that’s where you’re getting the vanilla indian food taste (which sounds terrible btw).
I had this one yesterday afternoon but I didn’t have a chance to review it. This one is has less of a flavor in comparison to the others I have tried (Caramel, Caramel Popcorn). This one tastes creamy and vanilla, it reminds me a bit of the vanilla protein powder I have but with a green tea bitterness. I had to add a little sugar to help flavor this one. Very tasty but not my favorite of theirs (because the rest are AMAZING.)
This is a sample I’ve had for a while from a David’s Tea order. I’ve been avoiding it since fruit teas aren’t my favorite. The tea leaves/pineapple bits smelled quite sweet when I opened it so I was worried it would be too sweet. Once brewed it wasn’t too bad. More tart than sweet. There’s a lot of pineapple flavor and less oolong flavor. Definitely an interesting mix.
I really want to rate this one 100 after today’s discussion because this tea makes me want to have a tween moment. OMG IT’S SO GOOD! #bestteaever #heaveninmymouth
On to the review – Seriously this matcha is amazing. I’m officially addicted to Red Leaf Tea’s flavored matchas. I’m working on placing an order right now. I had it over ice with almond milk this morning instead of my usual coffee and it hit the spot. It’s perfectly buttery and caramely goodness. I thought I would get my fiance addicted to these but luckily for me he prefers his coffee in the morning. This is another homerun from MissB!
Another from MissB. I had a feeling this tea would be a bit to sweet for me when I saw Honey in the label but I thought I’d give it a try. It tastes artificially sweet to me and it’s hard to get past the sweetness to taste the lemon and ginger. Meh but I’m happy I tried it.
Another one from MissB. I think this is the first rooibos tea I’ve loved. Maybe it’s a rooibos tea hater’s gateway drug tea? From the intense lemon smell I expected it would be more tart but it’s perfectly creamy and a little sweet. I will definitely order this one!
