Picked up this box on a whim today. My girlfriend was judging me since it was one of the more expensive boxes, but it seems to be worth it so far! A very interesting flavor I’m not used to, maybe since I haven’t had many pu-erhs yet. Something about it is very familiar and comforting. The grass/earth/forest smells and tastes are very enjoyable. Excited to keep drinking it and see how I like it later.

Flavors: Forest Floor, Grass, Wet Earth

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 4 min, 0 sec 10 OZ / 295 ML
White Antlers

This is probably the only pu erh I have ever found to be enjoyable. I always double bag brewed when I used to drink it.

Madeline

Ooh.. double bag brewing it right now. Interested to see how much more strong it might be

White Antlers

I did not find double bagging made it necessarily stronger; it just seemed to increase how well I could taste it being that I am an old lady with failing senses. When I used to buy Numi teas, I would always double bag them as I use a 12 oz. mug for morning tea.

If you want to stick with Numi, their chocolate pu erh was also quite pleasant. Don’t assume it will be like having a cup of cocoa, though. It’s just more of a variation on Emperor’s Pu Erh.

Madeline

Thanks! I’ll have to try that next :)

I haven’t tried this one but the Chocolate Pu-Erh White Antlers mentioned is a tasty, mild shou puerh. Very mellow cocoa taste, moderate spice.

White Antlers

Madeline I always add dairy to Emperor’s when I make it. If double bag brewing tastes harsh, try adding half and half or full fat milk. The dairy addition is also good with the Chocolate pu erh.

A solid english breakfast tea. Steeped for 5 minutes. I didn’t pick up on any suprising flavors, and it wasn’t quite as heavy and bitter as I expected. A nice change of pace from my more overwhelming english breakfast teas. Thank you again to Martin!

Another tea bag from Martin (thank you!). This is only the second green tea I’ve had that I can remember. And, I’m a fan. Mild, smooth green tea flavor. Good slight amount of bitterness. Would happily drink it again – makes me realize I need to try green tea more often!

Love the smell of this tea. I thought I didn’t like fruit tea, but after this bag it’s growing on me more. Very warm and Christmas-y, not like any fruit tea I’ve had before. Thanks, Martin Bednář, for sending it!

This tastes to me like a strong somewhat sour plain red apple flavor. It was a little too fruity for my taste. But, afterward I was actually craving more, so I guess I did like it, haha. A good flavor for fall. Will probably try it again to see if it grows on me.

Welcome to Steepster. I hope you will enjoy this place. I know this is far from perfect tea, but I will be happy to hear about others as well.

Madeline

Thanks! I’m already obsessed with this site. I sent you an email about the tea you sent me. If you haven’t gotten it, let me know and I’ll send it as a postcrossing/steepster message. Also – you have so many teas!! I’m impressed, haha.

Martin Bednář

Well, most of them are small samples only! But I count them in.
