drank Honeysuckle White Tea by Shang Tea
2252 tasting notes

Life lately hasn’t been conducive to lingering, reflective cups of tea or notes about them. After a day in jet-engine adrenaline overdrive, I grabbed this hoping that a cup of something delicate and elegant will help crank down the blood pressure.

I was going to write that the flavor is spot on, but that’s stating the obvious—it is honeysuckle, rather than honeysuckle flavored. The scent is wonderful and I keep wondering where the bees are.

I think my friends and I used to try and eat honeysuckles…so this sounds super good!

I remember squeezing them from the stem up to get the “juice” out of them. It’s very lightly sweet, but the white tea tones it down a little bit.

Sounds delicious! We used to do that with the honeysuckle in the yard as well.

Somebody asked me once when I became a tea junkie; I think it dates back to college when I needed caffeine for a 7 a.m. class but chose not to do coffee. My favorite teapot is a medium-sized Brown Betty given to me by my Mema; the painted flowers are chipping off, but the size and feel is perfect. I rejoice when I get a morning to brew a pot of loose tea starting with a kettle; not a bag and a hot pot.
