I’m still getting used to the idea that I can have caffeinated tea as often as I’d like at work, so it’s taking a while to get back into the routine of making a cup. For now, the bags have it: making it easy to make multiple cups in the course of a day. I’m looking forward to when the bags won’t cut it anymore and I’ll be inspired to move back into loose leaf. :)
Another tea I get to decupboard! I do enjoy this one, and will revisit it.
Oh, and has anyone else heard the Twinings radio advert? I heard it on the drive last night…was amazed that a tea company was advertising on the radio! And it made me realize that I wasn’t pronouncing the name right. Woops!
Preparation
I always wondered, but I’d never heard anyone say it (or at least, anyone who would know). Thanks for clearing that up! :)
Yeah…I have been saying Twin, too! Twine! Twine! Twine! I will have to burn that in my brain! Thanks!
Quite good for a bagged tea. The UK import version is better, less bergamot, and more delicate. The US one is one of my favorite earl grays, beating out the extremely strong Rishi. A local importer has better tea, but for bagged tea in a morning when I don’t want to fuzt with a tea ball, it works quite well. The tastes is really good, not too strong. If you brew it for too long, it can take on a bitter taste.
Preparation
Managed to catch one of my workers boiling water and filled up my travel mug with it. Got to my car (this morning was spent visiting half my schools delivering goodies), pulled this teabag out of my purse, and made it whilst I was trapped in the parking lot by a school bus.
I’m liking it! It’s got a classic breakfast blend taste, and isn’t too bitter or astringent. Not my favorite breakfast blend (ahem…LiberTEAS…ahem), but I can see myself drinking this a lot at work.
Preparation
8:30 am class this morning and I needed something with a bit of a kick – so a robust Assam seemed like a good idea. It’s definitely stronger and has more body than Twining’s English Breakfast and I can taste a bit of that characteristic malty Assam flavour. The tea maybe isn’t as flavourful as I might like, but at this hour I’m not inclined to be too picky.
Preparation
I am pleased with this tea and think it was a great was to transition from teabags to loose leaf. I would recommend it to any beginner to loose leaf tea or even tea in general.
Preparation
Really, there are so many mediocre earl grey blends out there… and this is one of them. I generally like Twinings, but I am definitely not impressed with this tea. Really, it seems like a cardinal sin to make a bad earl grey blend. It’s just that much more disappointing.

Loose is the way to go, but I’m shocked at how good this stuff is.
