Such a nice mother’s day tea! I brewed a pot of this with 650 ml boiling water and two teabags for 6 minutes. I shared it with my grandmother and mother over sandwiches and fruit. I added 1 tsp creamed honey to sweeten the tea slightly, and I think that was the perfect amount for me, but some may prefer 2 tsp.
It was such a warm beautiful day today and all the flowers were blooming, this spicy citrus tea went perfectly. I could see this going really well over ice as well.
Nothing really stands out for me in this tisane, it is a standard lemon ginger, but I thought the flavour was pleasant and fresh.

This is my first note so hopefully this goes well. Anyways I love black teas and this is one of my favorites. I usually drink this first thing in the morning before I pick up my students from bus wait. I like the wonderful aroma that the tea gives off, Bergamot. I know some people find this a little overwhelming, but i enjoy it. I let mine steep for awhile, instead of a light brown color, mine is very deep. Over all I enjoy this tea and I find it well worth the price.

I had taken a majority of the “unwanted” teas to work a couple of weeks back to help me rid the cupboard of their presence. It allows me to make room at home, but also force me to drink down the tea at work. I usually don’t have the time to sit back and enjoy a cup anyway, so I decided that the best option of drinking these down was to drink them at work.
I will admit that this particular Earl Grey had allowed me to turn away from Teavana’s products. I remember a coworker introduced me to his “outside tea” while working one day, and I clung to this tea. At the time, I would buy this, brew it, add cream, and sip. However, I no longer take my tea with anything but the tea itself. And I must say this much: It’s bittersweet that I had finished this at work tonight.
It’s quite nostalgic.
To think that Earl Grey ultimately brought me out of the Teavana realm and into the vast world of tea that I’ve come to love today. I may not like this as I once had, but it still carries the memory of knowing that there was more than Teavana—there was a larger picture than I’ve ever began to imagine.
This tea may have not been the first cup of tea to welcome me into the world; however, it was the one to allow me to change my perspective, and reach for a different kind of cup….
Quick Review
This was a quick snatch and grab this morning. I think that mornings are best to revert to the oldies. Honestly, I’ve found myself disliking Earl Grey tea more and more as I convert to newer flavors. Despite that, I think that Twining’s makes a pretty solid Earl Grey, and it’s great to add sugar and cream to; therefore, I can see myself drinking this from time to time. There’s something about this E.G. that keeps me going for it now and again; however, it reminds me of the days when I thought E.G. was the only decent tea—which was before the time my friend had introduced me to anything but E.G. It’s almost nostalgic drinking this tea.
Side Note: The students were nearly sleep walking this morning, and didn’t want anything to do with me or school. However, I have that ONE student who loves mornings, and can function much better than any of us. She approached me and proceeded to tell me that her grandma drinks Earl Grey tea every day. Anyway, she decides to go on about drinking tea, when, as I’m listening, this is a child who can actually talk tea and drinks tea.
I give perks to her parents and grandma for introducing her to tea, and allowing my mind to wake up by having tea-talk with an eight-year-old at such an early time in the morning!
Flavors: Bergamot, Citrus, Cream
This is my go to tea when I want a milky cuppa. It’s nice and comforting when I am feeling not quite myself. I like it black but prefer it with a dash of honey and milk. It’s lovely with toast on quiet, slow Saturday mornings.
Flavors: Caramel, Malt

I really like this combo because it doesn’t have any acidic herbal teas like most assorted boxes do. The cinnamon spice one is my favourite. The others are quite good as well. For the price, this is a really nice set to buy if you are like me and need variety.

This is the third Twinings product I bought in the last week. I nabbed it along with a box of Prince of Wales and a box of Darjeeling while all were on sale. It is my least favorite of the three so far, but that being said, it really is not all that bad.
In the glass, this tea is lovely. It shows a warm, dark orange-tinged amber. The nose is fairly nondescript. I can just pick up faint aromas of dried grass, straw, toast, malt, honey, and perhaps a bit of almond. In the mouth, the tea is on the lighter side of medium in terms of body. A crisp, clean entry reveals fleeting impressions of toast, almond, dried grass, malt, and straw with a hint of honey. Even though there is not a ton going on flavorwise, this tea is clean and smooth in the mouth with little bitterness or astringency. The finish is clean and clipped, imparting a touch of almond, honey, toast, and grass flavors.
With an addition of cream, the tea completely transforms. As expected, it becomes smoother in the mouth. The light maltiness and nuttiness of the tea becomes more pronounced while the honey sweetness and dry, crisp grassy notes take a backseat. I imagine that this would be even better with both cream/milk and honey. I will have to give that a try sometime.
In the end, this tea is okay. Truthfully, I am not the hugest fan of most Ceylon teas, and in general, I find orange pekoe to be kind of a basic tea. What I mean by that is I’ve just never found a pekoe that really sticks out to me. In my opinion, pekoe is good to give a blend body and a little bit of crispness, but in terms of flavor, I find it to be too soft, clean, and sterile to really stand up on its own. This product does virtually nothing to change my opinion of pekoe, but then again, it could serve a purpose as an easy drinking breakfast tea to pair with food. Even though it doesn’t do much for me, I guess I’m just not willing to write it off completely.

I really like this tea so much! Such a lovely flavour and one of my favourites!! I don’t drink this as often now as I am staying away from caffeine most of the time, but this is so pleasant!
I drink this with milk and sugar/sweetener.

I had a long work training today from 8-4:30. It seemed to last an eternity, but thanks to Twining’s Prince of Wales, I managed to get over the four hour hump in the middle of the meeting.
I had thirty minutes to run to a cafe or eat lunch, and my boss said that this coffee house in downtown Akron had great coffee and teas. So, I went.
While she was looking at the coffee display-case, I happened to find a small wall of teas. There, I found Twining’s Prince of Wales. I asked the barista to make a cup, and bought two ounces of the loose leaf. It was excellent.
I just had it on its own. I must say that it was naturally sweet, smooth, light and mellow. It was soothing for an afternoon tea, and it helped the remainder of the meeting to go by nicely. Before I headed home, I made another cup with a pot of hot water provided by the trainers.
Let’s just say that the 4:30-5 o’clock traffic wasn’t too bad with a cup of tea.

Yup, this again! I forgot my ~ fancy teas at home this morning, so I am having Work Tea.
This is less strong than the stuff I had last night, I think. Maybe. At the very least, it’s less of a squeaky-teeth tea. I wonder if the differences are legitimate differences of Twinings Canada and UK blending? Or if the differences are all in my head?
Anyways, it’s almost time for lunch, and it’s gloriously sunny outside. I hope I get some fun mossy pictures for Instagram. :)

This brings me back to my childhood – we always had Red Rose, Twinings Earl Grey, and Peppermint teas in the house. I loved to horrify my father (still do!) by putting milk in this one. :D
So while this is a very furniture-polishy, tooth-squeaky type of tea, it’s also something I love because I used to drink it all the time.
I have a feeling this came from MissB, when she was in London. Thanks so much!
Preparation
Weird! I’ve nearly always drank my earl grey with a little milk. Does he despise it terribly? Then again, I guess that reminds me of my mom and her aversion to coffee with sugar in it.
On the 13th day of sipdowns..
I feel terrible, my brother has been sick for the past few days and I’m pretty sure I caught it because I slept all day. When I woke up I did not want tea at all, especially since I finished up my Ginger Beer tea the other day. I rifled through my box o’ tea and found a single bag of this from when we went to London.
Holy cow is it lemony. Granted I’m sick so maybe my taste is a bit off but this would be fantastic iced with a little bit of honey or sugar. A few sips into the cup I can’t taste any ginger at all but I can feel it (Ginger has this fresh, tingly feeling to me) and about halfway through the cup it hits you in the face.
Overall, I’m bummed I only had one of these. It’s really really good and I’d love to try it iced or with scones or at a time when I’m not feeling sick.
Flavors: Citrus, Ginger, Lemon

I like this one, too.
