Is not that bad for a powder on the go tea i usually like my chai on the spicy side witch this is not. You can deftly taste the caramel, to sweet for my palate, but my hubby loves it. He has bought this couple of times. I usually would have this when the weather is cold and i’m not felling the hot coco.
Flavors: Caramel
Very boring as a peppermint tea. A bit bland actually. I guess it’s not fair that I compare all of my peppermint teas to Tazo Refresh, since that has a couple of other ingredients, but I can’t help it! Also comparing it to Adagio’s peppermint makes me sad. So no, not a repurchase for me. Glad it was cheap :P
I bought this at Trader Joe’s a few days ago and am just getting around to trying it now. It’s a paper teabag which is definitely one drawback but the price was super cheap.
I decided to steep two teabags up in a large mug. Yeah it definitely tastes like paper to me, oh well. Aside from that the strongest element in here is the clove which seems VERY strong, it’s almost to the point of bitterness. I don’t really understand all the positive reviews of this because I think it’s a bit icky but nothing ventured, nothing gained, so they say. I did add soymilk and a teaspoon of sugar but it isn’t one of my favorite rooibos blends at all… hopefully I will manage to finish the box.
Flavors: Cloves

This was a pretty good tea. I’ve been a long time purchaser of teavana’s dragon pearls jasmine/green tea and wanted to see how this stacked up. Price-wise, trader joes’ jasmine green is more affordable. Flavor: I prefer the stronger taste of jasmine in Teavana’s jasmine green, but this one was still lovely. All in all, not bad and for the price will continue to buy this one.
Preparation
This blend is way too heavy on the clove for my taste. It lives at the office, where I hardly ever drink it because the flavor taints my travel mug. I brought a bag home just so I can review it properly. Turns out there isn’t much more to say than what I’ve said before. The clove just overwhelms everything else. I tried adding rice milk to mellow it out, but that did not help. The rice milk might actually have made the clove even more prominent. As rooibos chais go, this one’s pretty unimpressive.

Passover left me too cranky and tired to write tasting notes. I’m trying to get back into the swing of things, though.
This is one of my caffeine-free afternoon office teas. It’s rather meh. There’s a good amount of spice here, but it’s mostly clove. The rooibos base just doesn’t stand up to the spice. Meanwhile the smell sticks to my travel mug long after the tea is gone. Once I brew this up, I can’t make any other kind of tea until I wash the mug out quite thoroughly. And the bags have an unfortunate habit of breaking open if left in the mug too long. Boo.
This might be better iced/cold steeped (if the bag doesn’t disintegrate). Maybe I’ll try a cold steep if I have any of this tea left when the weather gets warmer.
This is absolutely my favorite tea, and I drink at least one cup a day. As it’s a Trader Joe’s seasonal, I had to stock up, and currently my stash holds about 12 boxes of it, not including the one that’s open.
This is a perfect morning tea, though I’m well aware I brew it for longer than recommended, I like it strong, and I like to bring out the more bitter notes of the black tea itself. While this is sweet on its own, a spoonful of raw honey makes it amazing, and gives it just the boost to get me started on my day.
It’s also lovely to unwind with, as just the calming scents of the cinnamon and vanilla when its brewing are enough to make one relax. The cinnamon is very subtle, supporting the vanilla and complementing it, unlike Trader Joe’s other cinnamon offerings (Specifically the cinnamon tempest and the harvest blend).
Flavors: Vanilla

This is a delicious tea! I see a lot of people brew it 195°F. This seems a little odd to me since I’ve always heard white teas should be brewed at around 160°F. Anyways, I think cooler temperature brew comes out great!
Preparation
The first time I had this tea, I thought it was really quite tasty and looked forward to having more of it. After a little while though, you get over it. Now it doesn’t taste that great to me at all and hence why I had to change my rating of this tea. It’s still quite fragrant when I make it, but the taste isn’t much of anything anymore.
Preparation
Way too sweet for me and most others I’ve served it to. However, I don’t like sweet, sugary drinks. I don’t add anything to my teas and drink them straight. If you like a lot of strong, sweet flavor, then you might like this.

I got this as a gift. I love getting gifts and what could be sweeter than a gift of cinnamon tea in this lovely tin! My notes are thus: a very light bodied cup of tea, with definitely cinnamon flavors first and foremost. I’m pleased to say that the cinnamon flavor tastes like cinnamon stick, not fake cinnamon candy. I now feel as though I’ve written the word cinnamon more times than I ever have before. In conclusion cinnamon cinnamon, I would recommend this tea to cinnamon lovers who like a light cup of tea rather than a robust, well rounded cup of tea. I personally would have preferred a nice balance of blended teas and the cinnamon. The cinnamon End cinnamon.

I’ve had this box since the fall when I bought it impulsively and then neglected it for months. I finally brought it out to cold brew in my brand new pitcher! I put 3 bags in and left it in the fridge for four hours. The resulting tea has a very candy-like mango taste. It also tastes slightly medicinal to me, which is odd and not very pleasant. I may experiment with mixing this one with plain black tea to see if I can maintain the mango without getting the medicinal taste, but I will not repurchase when I’m done with the box. I’ve just found so many higher quality teas since I bought this box!
Edit: I now see that hibiscus is listed as one of the ingredients. Maybe I’m just interpreting that tartness and medicinal?
this is actually delicious.
after my 2 cups of matcha today & my veggie marathon (i love vegetables!) replete with supplements of Spirulina, turmeric & Neem, i was quite full and couldn’t really fit more tea. lol.
for dinner i made a spinach salad with basil-infused olive oil from Colavita (my new favorite thing in life) to which i added a generous sprinkling of salt, lots of cracked black pepper and topped it off with toasted almonds & coconut flakes. i know that might sound bizarre but it is actually amazing. toasted almonds are everything. also, while in the toaster- there is such a small window of time during which they toast & get perfectly dark around the edges just before burning! i have mastered this art.
sometimes i’ll add Jyoti’s Jaipur Karhi to the salad in place of dressing & it’ll be this perfectly yummy, tangy, spicy & coconutty experience with mustard seeds (!!!) and the toasted almonds are just the crowning glory. i really need to stop talking about toasted almonds.
anyway, after my salad i had a cup of Eden’s organic Hojicha, which i love dearly. it tastes like dark roasted popcorn omg. maybe slightly burnt popcorn. in a sort of wheatish reed kind of way. then a while after that i was feeling sleepy so i made me a cup of this!
this is the exact same thing as Candy Cane Lane by Celestial Seasonings, which i also have. when i first got it during the holiday season, i remember thinking it was nice, but just an ordinary mint tea. now i think it’s really amazing and great before bed. i also realize that there is vanilla in this along with the peppermint and i think i can perceive some cinnamon as well, thinking back on Nutcracker Sweet. when i add honey to this, it comes pretty close to tasting like a candy cane! which is odd that i should be excited, considering i don’t really eat candy canes around Christmas. but okay, it works for this tea!
tummy-soothing, comforting & inviting to sleep. i guess that’s why mint is a key ingredient in all CS’s sleepytime blends!!
thanks @teabrat & @teafairy! :)
if u want to try n replicate the salad, toast the almonds in a toaster, let them brown n even burn a little…but be quick about it because slightly burnt can become completely burnt in a matter of seconds! ;p
@teabrat- i take neem for all the purported health benefits. i read in a lot of places neem is a miracle tree, can prevent cancer, improve your skin, cleanse your blood, etc. i take neem leaf in capsule form. i heard it can also help your immune system & has similar effects to that of Echinacea and Goldenseal.
This is a great cinnamon tea. With honey or agave it really brings out the cinnamon and spice notes in the tea.. The best cinnamon tea I have found so far. Unfortunately the last time I went to Trader Joe’s they were out and told me it was a seasonal tea? Odd since I had been purchasing it for almost a year? I really hope that more people express interest in this tea so that they can have it year round. If you do find it, I would recommend stocking up as you will really enjoy it.
