I am enjoying this one right now as I type this. It is most definitely still one I enjoy a great deal. I say still only because my palette changes periodically and I start craving one type of tea all the time or sometimes the unfortunate happens. An old favorite goes by the wayside only to be replaced by something else. Lucky for me I still enjoy this one a great deal. It held up against the test of time and countless cups of tea. There is an marzipan quality to this tea that is just so warming and so appropriate for this time of year. Delicious!

It has been a while since I have had tea with almond; quite sometime. I may add this to my cupboard wish list. Thank you!

Wow, so excited to be trying this. I just got my first order and I dug in. I am enjoying this one a lot. The dry leaf smelled wonderful and strong. I think I saw coconut flakes in there and I did not expect it. The flavor is smooth and sliky, it is like the essence of an almond croissant. Very delicious and will drink again.

My only wish is that there be a complete list of ingredients somewhere online before I order and some recommended steep parameters.

Good news. Their Facebook page announced they will be launching a new website (tentatively the first week of Sept 2011) that will have all the information you mentioned, complete ingredients, steeping recommendations along with flavor profiles, caffeine levels and more.

A lovely aroma of milk chocolate and subtle notes of mint, this tea reminds me of The NecessiTeas’ Peppermint Pattie tea. Adding milk and sugar brings out the chocolate and slight hints of mint, but in the future I would use more than 1 tsp. per 8 oz. serving, and perhaps steep for a bit longer as well; it needed to be a bit stronger and had tasted a bit weak when I tried it.

Smelled really nice – lovely blueberry aroma. Not much of a blueberry flavor that I could determine, but there was a mild sweetness that countered the green tea. Loved the aroma!

A truly flavorful flavored tea with deeply rich spices and a unforgettable carrot flavor. I don’t eat cake, so this was a wonderful treat! Enjoy with a bit of cream and sweetener for a more decadent experience.

Sweet without being too sweet. Cakey. Creamy. The walnut is a brilliant touch.

drank Banana Split by The NecessiTeas
902 tasting notes

The last of my decaf samples from Rachel. Sad face.

It’s been forever since I’ve had a banana split, but for a rooibos blend, this came pretty close. There’s definitely banana flavored, and it’s more of a true banana than a Runts candy banana flavor. In fact, it almost even gives you the mouthfeel of a slightly under ripe banana. There’s also a bit of strawberry, and the end of the sip is a bit chocolatey as well. Overall, very nicely done, but only if you like rooibos and bananas!! Thanks so much for letting me try this, Rachel! Yummy!

I had this tea at the end of a late lunch. I figured, if I was going to have a guilt free dessert, might as well make it a dessert-flavored tea. And this delivers. The green tea base – which I guessed was a Chinese sencha (with its natural berry notes) – worked well with the freeze-dried blueberries and natural flavoring.

I gave some to my brother and he said it was “pretty hot and tempting.”

Took the words right outta my cup.

This is exactly as you expect it to be from the title. It’s fruit pieces with flavoring, and it does its job rather effectively. It tastes like strawberries and kiwis. I had high hopes for this blend because I love the combination. Always did ever since having a strawberry kiwi frozen yogurt. It more or less lives up to that, but it’s a lot more subtle than I thought it would be. Odd for me to say this, but I think it needed more hibiscus or something. More tartness. But that’s just me. Other than that, quite good.

The kiwi bits handled the desire for tartness that you mention for me. Although, I would have liked to have seen more of them in there.

Oh my. I find this tea absolutely… delicious. Almost… delicate? I got a small haul from NecessiTeas this week and I’m already planning another order. The blueberry smell is very in your face, when steeped it feels like it perfectly compliments the the other flavors. I’ll have to revisit this when I’m feeling well (I have a cold at present), but at present this is one I would definitely like to keep on hand. I really wasn’t expecting to enjoy this one as much as I am. :) Hopefully when I’m better any licorice flavor doesn’t… become apparent (can’t stand the stuff) but in the interim, yes!

I just made my last pot of this tea and I am kinda freaking out because I can’t find this on her website right now! This is one of my staples because it is delish. Nice amount of caramel, some tasty apple and rooibos…what more can a girl want with pretty much zero calories?

drank Carrot Cake by The NecessiTeas

Um…YUM!!! Thank you Doulton for a wonderful sample. I brewed this with some sugar, half & half, honey, and vanilla bean paste in a big mug. I am not into brewing teas flavored as such naked. The spice in it blends so well with the kiss of carrot and alittle nut. The rooibos is great in this, too.

I have been gluten free for awhile, and this is a great way to please my gluten cravings. Not a everyday tea for me, like I couldn’t eat a piece of carrot cake everyday!

I like this with french vanilla creamer or a tblsp of sweetened condensed milk. A FAVE of mine.

The first couple of sips, I could taste the strawberry but not so much on the cheesecake, but by about mid-cup, the cheesecake flavor really developed nicely.

It has a very lovely flavor. It tastes fresh and slightly buttery and berry delicious! YUM!

I haven’t tried this one yet. I’ve had their Strawberry Daiquiri, though. It was “delish”.

LauraR

I’ve had it and need to order some…delish!

I would love to try this one too! Anne – you’re killing me! LOL jk

First Thank you Doulton for sending me this tea.

As of late I have contemplated making a purchase of my own from The NecessiTeas and I am racked with some many potentially great choices but I don’t like spending money on shipping especially if I am not sure if I will like what I get. I hate to buy all samples and then pay $6.75 on shipping or buy just one $10 tea and then $6.75 on shipping. If I am going to have to spend money on shipping then I want to take advantage of the flat rate and buy as much as I can or afford. Then it dawned on me that I did in fact have a tea from them so I decided to have it now. At least then I get an idea on quality and if I think I may like their offerings. First, it is a rooibos and I find like so many far and in between. Next, banana in tea is hard to wrap my head around but still I will try most things at least once. With that said it wasn’t too bad. It is slightly sweet. I get the chocolate flavor way at the end and even after the swallow. I am not getting the Banana Split taste but it is yummy. I would drink it again and I am glad I got to try it. Having this does give The NecessiTeas one point towards a purchase but it wasn’t the slam dunk I was hoping for. Although, I bet an order will come into play sometime soon. The problem is I don’t know what to get.

I have a number of recommendations for flavored blends from there. The Carrot Cake Rooibos is awesome and I really love the White Goji. I have tried the majority of their stuff. If you want more info pm for recs.

Thank you LauraR I will PM you for recommendations. :-)

Ahhh….sigh. This tea will carry you away to a tropical island. The leaves are strongly scented of cherry, pineapple and coconut. Makes me think of higher calorie blended beverages that are oh so sweet and delicious. The leaves are a medium length green, maybe a sencha? I’m pretty new to green teas, so not sure, and they weren’t listed.

The aroma is similar to the scent of the dry leaf, sweet and fruity. The taste is sweet, fruity and comes through with a strong green base. I’d like more coconut flavor in the blend, but it is definitely part of the blend. Great pairing for a green tea. I found I liked it better hot than iced. The flavors came through stronger in the hot version than in the iced.

Thanks LauraR for including some of this in the tea swap package:)

That sounds awesome! Sounds like it would make quite the mixed drink too! ;)

Sounds so good!!

A pretty smelling GREEN tea that I have to say might actually be crave-able! And that’s saying quite a bit coming from someone who automatically looks for faults in every green tea she tries!

If you have this tea, go out and buy you some NesQuik chocolate milk. Seriously. It helps calm the lime flavor down, and enhances the coconut flavor. Normally I don’t abide by add-ons (I want to taste the tea), but this combination is really nice, and makes this tea something that I’ll definitely be putting on my shopping list.

I always drink this one with a splash of chocolate milk. Makes it way delish!

LiberTEAS included this tea in our swap (thank you, thank you, thank you)! I had never heard of such a tea before reading her log of it. I love limes, even to the point that I ask for sliced limes at a restaurant to put in my water or Diet Coke. Limes in tea had never crossed my mind until I say this!

I love the smell, which is pretty much straight, strong lime. Made me want to cut up a lime and drop it into the tea. I had no lime to do this with, which is probably good, since the lime taste is fairly strong as well. It also either evaporates out, or you get used to it as you sip, because as I drink it, the lime isn’t as strong, and the coconut and chocolate come out more. The chocolate isn’t strong, just a hint coming through toward the end of the sip. Definitely would like more chocolate.

It’s definitely different; tart, with kind of a creamy texture. LauraR commented that it’s really good with chocolate milk…and I just happen to have some that’s not gone bad yet (we’re not big milk drinkers around here). Gonna try that with the next cup.

So sad I am drinking the last of this sample, will definitely order more but not until I finish the many samples I have right now! I am impressed with this tea, it’s pretty impossible to mess up. I put about 2 tsp. in my Libre infuser mug and left the leaves in there through 3 servings, 8 oz each time, and it still tastes really yummy! I may just keep adding hot water and see how long I can keep this going…

I don’t normally add anything to teas that aren’t chai, but I think that if a new tea smells or tastes like it might be good with creamer I should try it at least once. Vanilla coffee creamer(I ran out of vanilla silk) made this tea extremely coconutty and dessert-like. Delicious, but in the future I won’t add creamer to it.

I stuck my nose in the sample package and-suntan oil! That’s not a bad thing, but it’s dead on-SPF 4 (really? 4?) basting oil. The flavor is wonderful, none of the ingredients outshine the others at all. I will buy more of this soon!

I have to say that this is one of the most unusual tea flavor combinations I’ve come across that I’ve actually been willing to taste. (I still won’t try peanut butter tea, sorry Frank)

I ordered it because of the word Chocolate in the name. That should come as no surprise to anyone who is at all familiar with my likes and dislikes when it comes to tea. But I felt.. somewhat confident that I might like it… I mean… I like chocolate. I like coconut. I like lime. I like lime and coconut together, and I like chocolate and coconut together. I don’t know if I have ever tasted chocolate and lime together… and I know I haven’t tasted all three together.

It’s a little weird… a little outside of my comfort zone… but I’ll give it a try.

OK… the first flavor I’m noticing is the lime. I wish the lime flavor was a better lime flavor because it is a little off. Not a lot off, but it is a little… I don’t know. It’s not so off that it’s putting me off on the tea all together, I’m thinking it might grow on me.

The coconut and chocolate together are quite a nice pairing and they hit right at mid-sip… it’s like… ok, you’ve just tasted that weird lime taste so now here is your treat, coconut and chocolate. I wish there was more chocolate… in fact, I think that this particular blend if mixed with the Tisano’s cacao tea would be astonishingly good.

This IS growing on me, and now that I’m about midway through my cup the lime doesn’t taste quite as weird now as it did at the start. It’s decent.

LOL I thought your 1st sentence even before I read it:)

Jaime

Want this tea. Need this tea.

LauraR

I used to drink this one everyday. It still takes a turn in my cup now and then. I still like it, but I think she has changed something with the lime. Overall, I still like it though. Oddly, this one is best with milk…make that chocolate milk if you have it.

LiberTEAS

Laura: I made a second cup of it, and gave it a splash of half & half and it really IS better with the addition. It’s good both ways… but I like it better with the dairy.
