My favorite weird green tea, though I think my tastes have become kind of boring with regards to tea flavors. It’s super good, not really much I can say beyond that. You’ve got Matcha. You’ve got Genmaicha. Together. Very green. Genmaicha is still my everything so that’s not putting it down, just observational. I love Den’s for really good quality tea, so it’s just a nice good quality tea. :D

It’s been my cheap and easy accessible choice for a bit over here. Plus I’m lazy and enjoy the re-steeps. Herbaceous and buttery, pretty savory. Not bad, my roommate and I quite enjoyed. I think the best flavor comes from 2nd and 3rd re-steep. If the water is too hot I think it takes on a more vegetal flavor, more astringent? On the hunt for others. :D

Very pleasant! Slightly minty, definitely get the "orchid fragrance " floral flavor from this. Not even the slightest bit bitter at first steeping. Earthy, tastes very green. Reminds me of a nice floral garden. Okay this is going to be a really weird analogy but it kind of tastes like I’m chewing on very pleasant, very fresh cuttings in a perfume shop, but in a good way. Really… good way. It’s kind of confusing, but the flavors combine well and create a generally very nice experience. I’m still getting my bearings with unflavored oolongs, so I might update this score later, but this is pretty darn good.

Very nice oolong! Flavors very complimentary. Smooth and mild, slightly sweet but no single component is overwhelming. Smells absolutely brilliant. Another limited tea I wish weren’t limited. Truly becomes exponentially more enjoyable after the first steeping.

I really dig bagged genmai cha in general for a quick, cheap tea fix when I go out. I feel like “milks” and sweeteners kind of ruin the appeal of most green teas, genmai cha the most of them. Yamamotoyama’s is just a nice middle-of-the-road genmai cha, not strong, great aroma. Just pleasant overall. Great rice fragrance, good body, not overtly bitter. Just really nice, and sooo affordable when I hit the Asian market. On my “must stock frequently” list.

This was actually my first mate, so I didn’t have a basis of comparison for it. To date I’m still pretty fond of it. I’ve had better mates (need to review some O_o) but as an introduction and not having an opposition to chicory I found it pleasant. Earthy, mild, pretty good overall blend. A little chocolate, pretty decent kick. Doesn’t taste overly astringent, I’d say as a first mate it’s a pretty good option, especially with a bit of “milk” or sweetener. I agree that there is a bit of a mocha element to this, which works for me. (I’m an addict of most anything bearing naturally occurring caffeine…) I guess it just works overall. Not the best, not the worst. Functional. …can tea just be functional?
