Sample sipdown because I’m passing the rest on to a friend!
This is an old one from TastyBrew.
It’s not bad…Not sure if it’s due to age or just one of the flavourings added, but I’m getting a sour sort of note with a weird vegetal aftertaste. Perhaps the cheesecake flavour is doing that.
Not my favourite pumpkin tea (I’m still looking), but definitely worth a try, anyway!
Thanks TastyBrew :)
4th tea in the tea box. Brewed 2 cups to be enjoyed by friends and family. Nothing added. Considering adding but i dont want to ruin the flavor. Its the after taste that is the best. Surprisingly the rooibos doesn’t over power the rest of the flavors which it usually does. Also, think this is better slightly cooled.
Preparation
I’m not generally a fan of green tea, and while I didn’t love this one, it also was better than many of the other green teas I’ve had in the past: nice light fruity, lemony aroma, and the lemon and strawberry negated whatever bitterness or grassy notes that can be prevalent. I added a teaspoon of honey which muted the lemon and strawberry flavors.
Flavors: Lemon Zest
Preparation
This is one of my absolutely favorite teas: It’s got a gorgeous aroma, both before and after brewing, and does smell like carrot cake. I love this especially with a vanilla or sweet cream creamer (makes it creamier).
Flavors: Cinnamon, Coconut, Nutmeg
Preparation
Sample sipdown!
After a five minute steep I’m getting a weird bit of flavour in this. It implies eggnog but there’s some kind of aftertaste. And there are none of the spices one would associate with eggnog, and it’s missing the creamy note that makes Butiki’s Creamy Eggnog my ultimate tea.
This flavoured black tea doesn’t hold a candle to that, but I’m glad I got to try it, though I’m hesitant to finish my cup, it tastes like chlorine or something. Blech.
I remember who sent me this, it was TastyBrew!!(OMG it’s been so long I can’t remember if that’s how you embolden a name or not…ugh) (edit – yay it worked)
Soooo this smelled and tasted a lot like what I remember of Butiki’s Creamy Eggnog Tea….which I LOVE, but haven’t had in awhile. Though this is black and Butiki’s is green, right?
Anyway, I did enjoy this. I have so much tea to get through that I decided to only use my leaves up once (1-2 tsp per cup, steep, then toss) to ensure I get through my stash faster,
It’s been a year after all.
It’s probably all stale by now :(
Anyhow. I’m kind of regretting not reusing my leaves, though I have more anyway. I enjoyed it, though wouldn’t have minded a stronger flavor. Eggnog FTW!
Thanks TastyBrew!
Thanks so much for this one, QueenofTarts! I’m very pleased that I was able to buy this one, as I’m not sure why not many people seem to be a fan of Necessiteas. I’ve tried five of them so far and they are GOOD. I wish I could try all of their teas! I guess it is difficult to invest in their teas though, since they only sell them in 3 ounce amounts. I would love if they had samples! Can you tell I liked this tea? Both of the steeps were the same:
There are actual blueberries in this one! This just SMELLS like blueberry cheesecake and the taste is very present and accurate as well. Impressed already. The flavor is more like cream and butter (maybe from the buttery green itself?) with a little bit of tanginess very sweet and definitely blueberries! I’d say the blueberry and cream/butter/tang are equally represented. This is one of my favorite flavored green teas, definitely. It’s almost like if you mixed one of 52Teas blends and their BooBerry Cotton candy. I really wish Necessiteas would sell samples!! You’d think their lovely sounding blends are gimmicks or something, seeing as how you have to buy three ounces, but the five blends I’ve tried so far have been some of my favorites. If I had the money, I wouldn’t mind investing in entire three ounces of their teas without trying them first. I don’t think I’d be disappointed in any of them.
Preparation
I took a look at their site and didn’t see any. Also typed the word “sample” into the search and came up with nada.
This was light on blueberry flavor compared to the Blueberry tea from David’s..
I admit, I have fallen in love with David’s teas.
This particular tea has it’s own merits…it does have that cakey flavor
But in a really SMOOTH way that screamed I am cheesecake with decadent blueberries.
This is a nice tea and although not my favorite blueberry tea it is
Supa Nice
Try it, you will like it…
…Mikey… ;-)
One of my favorite teas, especially since I got it from Iheartteas on facebook who had an amazing sale going on in spring. I used some vanilla almond milk to give it some creamyness and it only made it better.
What a wonderful start to a lovely Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving to anyone else in the states with me!
Preparation
Love this one! thanks for selling it, QueenOfTarts! The one tea I actually added cream to before was a hojicha and that was ages ago! It does taste like that cup did. (Honestly, I have a feeling I may have seen this tea on Steepster and had the idea to add some cream.) Oddly, there aren’t many steeping instructions for most hojicha teas. But I waited for the water to cool a few minutes and steeped for a couple minutes. The flavor is so nice! Creamy yet roasty, sweet from the chocolate. It’s perfect and just like I wished it would taste. I wouldn’t say it’s marshmallow and hazelnut but it’s delicious for what it is. The second cup tasted as good as the first, but that may have been because of a higher temp.
Thanks TastyBrew! This one smells amazing so I was waiting to try this one until I had a moment to really enjoy it. It’s pretty nommy :) nice creamy cheesecake flavor going on. The pumpkin kind of lies in the aftertaste but I think it’s a good blend of flavors. Thank you again!
Received this one in round 1 secret pumpkin swap from RogersCK.
I was a bit skeptical but this one is pretty decent. There is a rooibos taste, but there is also a kind of carrot cake type taste. I would not say there is much cake flavour in this. But I do get hints of cinnamon and nuts. I would have guessed almonds until I read the description and it said walnuts. I am getting the slightest sweet tart taste that you get in real good homemade cream cheese icing. There is a bit of a carrot taste, maybe. There is something I can’t quite put my finger on. I think if I would have tried this without knowing the name of the tea, I would have called it coffee cake, or greek shortbread.
Preparation
Another one I get to try from TastyBrew’s awesome package! I really appreciate it! I found some eggnog yogurt in the fridge in my dream last night, so I thought I’d try this one this morning! This one sure has a strong scent. The dry blend is long twisty black leaves with a few yellow flowers. To be honest, this one is very much like the pumpkin cheesecake. But they are both spicy dairy products, so maybe that is the case. I think the cheesecake has more of a flavor than the eggnog. This one has a bit of spice (again that mysterious spicy flavor while not actually having spices in it), not so much eggnog. Flavorful, I just couldn’t guess it was actually eggnog. It seems to have the same flavor both hot and cold which is odd for any tea. The black tea itself has a mid-level strength flavor profile. Light, yet still a bit dark. I like all three of the Necessiteas I’ve tried! (And oh man I want to try them ALLLL.) I can’t believe I had to add this one to the system… but it wasn’t even on NecessiTeas site!
Another awesome blend from TastyBrew! Thank you so much! This blend certainly had a nice scent in the super long twisty dry leaves that I thought would make the flavor actually have a cheesecake flavor. It does! I think I had pumpkin cheesecake ONCE. It was great! This cup has a “pumpkin spice” flavor even though there aren’t actual spices here.. not sure how they did that. And there is a creamy taste that could very well be cheesecake. The black tea base is mild enough not to overpower the flavors. Very well done!
Additional notes: I’m having this one again. I think it’s still my favorite chai though I was wondering why it wasn’t as strong, then I thought I had previously used two teaspoons. Looking at the tasting note says I used 1 3/4 teaspoons. I’m still amazed at the big cinnamon pieces. I love that it has both longer leaves and CTC leaves. Also, I think I noticed some pieces of rock sugar this time around, though it doesn’t taste much sweeter. Maybe it makes it perfect while using 1 3/4 tsps. I’m sad I’m still the only one with a tasting note for this one. All of the NecessiTeas blends I’ve tried have been delicious. I wish they sold their teas in smaller amounts than three ounces. Steepsterers could at least be splitting orders!
Well, my tea monies will sadly be going elsewhere for a while, but maybe someday! And I’m trying to see where NecessiTeas source is. It seems they have some of the same teas as Fusion Teas & Two Tea Guys (and both of them have cheaper prices.) But neither of those two have the awesome blends like Blueberry Cheesecake.
Oh my gosh, TastyBrew sent me an amazing generous package of teas today!! I appreciate it so so much! THANK YOU! This one was first up. I felt like chai. I used a teaspoon and another 3/4… which was a bit risky, as this was a CTC and also black tea! But it is so so so good. I love a good chai. There are huge cinnamon chunks. A lot of ginger flavor, which I normally do not like unless it is in chai. This one has the perfectness briskness. My tongue is buzzy at first then the aftertaste is sweet. I never know why many chais are called “vanilla” when there doesn’t seem to be any vanilla. But I really love this one. I should have added milk!
ETA: This might be my favorite chai. It’s between this one and Ovation’s that I know I haven’t written a tasting note for yet!

Holiday Pumpkin Pie by Fava Tea is awesome. Unfortunately they don’t ship to Canada at all. Le sigh.
I recently tried Butiki’s Pumpkin Milkshake 2.0 and I LOVED it.
Awesome! May have to add those to my list
