I’m not a huge lychee fan….not a huge fan of this tea either :/ I wish there were more actual Goji berries instead of mostly lychees. It should be called Go Go Lychee :B

Oooo, if it tastes of lychee then I gotta try this one :D

This was a nice oolog. I prefer it hot with sweetener (I usually use Stevia to sweeten all my teas, but I occasionally use rock sugar). It makes a great after dinner/dessert tea because it has sweet and nutty undertones. It blends well with Hazelnut Dolce Rooibos (Teavana).

This was a very good white tea! It was nice both iced and hot. Great without sweetner, and I imiagine it would be good with sweetener as well. I prefer this to Silver Needle because it has the slightly fruity/peachy undertone as opposed to Silver Needle’s grassy/herbal undertone. Delicious!

Put off by it at first but I gave it another chance. I like this tea way better hot.

drank Formosa Nut Oolong by Teavana

Good but not easy to get right. I tried filling about 1/2 inch of the infuser or cup with warm milk, then pouring the water over the leaves and letting it steep. Very nutty and has rasberry and cinnamon flavors.

Teavana is often a bit too bold with flavours, but a few of their staple teas really hit the mark. I steamed (okay, microwaved) half a mug of milk, and then steeped an extra-strong brew to add to the milk. The result was creamy and delicious!

drank Earl Grey Creme by Teavana

As an Earl Grey lover, I was skeptical at first. Earl Grey with vanilla and blue cornflower with creme flavor? But I’m addicted. I work at a Teavana, and it’s my drink of choice when I start my shift. I drink it without sugar and I tend to steep it on the long side. I find it very smooth and almost velvety. Very refreshing.

You can never, EVER go wrong with this tea! Open you tin and inhale the deeply minty scent and it immediately opens your sinuses. Whenever I have an upset tummy, indigestion, headache or sore throat, I reach straight for this! Brewed hot, it warms you up but cools you down at the same time. Brewed then made iced (maybe with some Rooibos Tropica and Samurai Chai Mate—yum!), it’s an INSANELY refreshing summer drink! My all-time favorite tea! :]

Really really good this time. As long as I don’t overbrew it, it’s a great comma after a meal, rather than a full stop. Too bad it’s been discontinued.

I did this one wrong- it could have been so light and delicate if I’d only steeped it half as long. Steeping too long brings out the black tea too much and destroys the nut flavors and sweetness.

This has been my absolute favorite tea since I first had a cup of it. It’s definitely not for everyone, but if you appreciate something different or something with a strong flavor, this tea is for you. Lapsang Souchong is quite an experience – first you’ll notice the smell, which is very smokey, thoughts of a campfire always spring to my mind. The taste combines the flavor of black tea with bacon or other smoked meats. Because of the connection with food, I tend to drink it with a baked snack or other food. I definitely wouldn’t add anything to this tea – drink it straight for the perfect flavor. So good!

For any other fans – have you tried any brand beside Teavana? I bought a large canister of it from there and have just about used it up – now I’m looking for another place buy from to compare. I have heard some places don’t use the authentic process of roasting though, I want to stay away from flavor-by-chemicals stuff.

Enjoyingtea.com does carry this tea. While I have not had this tea from them, I can say that everything I have had from them is definitely fresh and fine tasting.

If you liked Teavana’s Lapsang Souchong, there are a few others you might like to try. Twinings has a pretty decent and consistent loose leaf, that is heavy on the smokey side. Adagio Teas has a slightly milder version, and there are more than a dozen brands reviewed now on Steepster.

You also might like to try Russian Caravan tea, which is traditionally made with a blend of Oolong, Keemun and Lapsang Souchong teas. (Twingings, Upton and Mark T. Wendell make nice versions) EnjoyingTea.com has a Russian Caravan which is a blend of lapsang souchong with assam black tea — a rather nice combination of lightly smokey and nicely malty flavors.

Toni Westbrook

Yeah – I’ve heard good things about Russian Caravan before, I definitely want to give it a try sometime soon – I’m curious to see how that combination of tastes sounds. Thanks for the sources too, I’ll be sure to check them out!

Someone accidentally mixed this with the Monkey Picked Oolong. It was pretty good. Took the fruitiness down a notch.

It’s very very rosy. I like it, others really don’t. It smells strange when you steep it but I think if you blended it with another white tea it would be splendid. I’m still figuring this tea out.

Loves it! It’s fruity and sweet but not too much so. Definitely better than its predecessor, Lemon Blast Mate.

Mixed with Peppermint it tastes kind of like a Peppermint Pattie but you have to get it just right.

Light and Peachy. I over steeped a little but it’s still nice.

I like oolong. I enjoy Jasmine. For some reason this morning this combo isn’t working for me today. Maybe I will like it better on the second, third and fourth infusions.

That’s what I was thinking, and clearly my friend was thinking, who gifted me a bag of this. For some reason, though, this tea and I never got along. I hope your subsequent infusions improve!
