The sweet smell was almost too much, I almost did not even make it. Flowery..dah…it did say it had rose petals. Giving this to my co-worker for her Christmas present. She will love it.
Teas are made for sharing:)
1 tsp PH plus 1 tsp of indian spices. Brewed 3 minutes in my Chatsford.
I still don’t have the ratio right…weak, but drinkable. You can taste the plum very slightly. I added the indian spices to even out this Teavana blend…way too sweet with just the plum harvest. Maybe I should add rock sugar to the next pot. Caffeine free, so I can drink all I want, experiment all I want tonight:) ummmm…This might be a better iced tea.
Try steeping the plum harvest for 2-3 minutes, then adding the indian spice for another 2 minutes.(You could put them both in for 5-6 minutes if the Indian Spice would hold up that long, otherwise, just add the indian spice later). I think the plum harvest must need awhile to develop because the site directions say to steep it for 5-6 minutes. That may be why it tastes weak.
I tried this tea after getting a sample at Teavana :) I wish I enjoyed it as much as I’d hoped I would. It’s a little bitter with the acai, and the flavor really doesn’t last – the berries are good for one steep only. I prefer teas that I can re-steep and really savor cup after cup.
Preparation
Drinking Three Kingdoms Mao Feng after replenishing my supply. Still a great everyday green tea with good flavor. Must say though, I may never shop at a Teavana store again. I’m really tired of the hard sell tactics they use…‘accidentally’ measuring more tea than you asked for, pushing one more tea, and one more tea to make their 1 lb. discount, which isn’t that great of a discount (only 10% on already overpriced tea). I like some of their exclusive blends enough that I’ll keep buying them, but I may start buying exclusively online.
Drinking the new formulation of Six Summits from Teavana…and don’t like it. If I wanted to drink essence of dried fruit, I’d stop by the grocery store. I think Teavana is focused too much now on selling tea to non-tea drinkers; thus, they’ve reformulated many of their teas to have a heavy fruit component. I feel like I bought two ounces of dried fruit with only a little tea mixed in. Not at all what I want.
Okay, the smell of this one SOLD me at Teavana. Those sneaky salesmen are pretty intense in OKC. Geez… Anywho…
I brewed this bad boy up and found that I’m just not a huge fan almond in tea. There is a dough taste, an almond cookie (duh) taste that is just too watered down to really be enjoyable. Side note, I took this with sugar only, no milk
This tea will taste fantastic with cream and more sugar, I used 1/2 a teaspoon for eight ounces. This review is, however, only covering water and light sugar.
So, in my opinion… This tea needs to be richer, a deeper black tea would have suited the other components quite a bit.
