drank Double Chocolate by Tealish

This is some fantastic stuff! I’ve brewed according to instructions and added a little bit of milk and – wow – tastes like chocolate milk. A treat to have before bedtime, or when you’re relaxing watching a movie. Also that’s the kind of tea you want to offer to those friends who “don’t like tea”. I’m sure they’ll be impressed. It’s amazing. Smells and tastes good, like a good night in. I’m in love.

drank Coconut Bongo by Tealish

After trying over 100 different teas in my time, I have to say this is my all time favourite. It can be drank in every way possible while still tasting fantastic. I haven’t yet oversteeped it or put in too much or too little of anything. It smells a little bit funny but its taste is UNMATCHED.

Another important note here is its ability to be mixed with other teas. I have so far mixed it with a vanilla tea, and the red velvet cake tea from Davids with delicious results on both occasions. This tea also works wonders as a milked tea. Essentially, any way you want to drink this – it is to DIE for. Enjoyed most (by myself at least) with some soy milk and vanilla tea mixed in.

drank Lemon Meringue Rooibos by Tealish

Pleasant, but not my favourite rooibos. However they do do a good job at capturing their intended flavour the meringue comes out in the aftertaste especially as the tea cools. The lemon tastes like those store bought pie mixes followed by a bitter tang from lemon peel. It kind of has a retro diner/tv dinners feel.

Sipdown! 291/365!

I believe I finished this off with honey while I was sick (I’m still sick, but I mean when I couldn’t taste anything), so my final memory of this tea is vaguely herbal + HONEY. Definite emphasis on the honey part.

Interesting. Not sure what I was expecting here, but not what I’m getting… The hibiscus is thankfully not overwhelming; I can taste apple, and possibly lemon/lemongrass? And a host of other savoury-ish flavours. This tea is not really sweet, as I would have been expecting. In both aroma and flavour, I think I’m also getting a hint of cinnamon.

Not a bad tea; very unique and not a flavour I have experienced before. Not something I’d likely crave, either. Thanks for the sample, Indigobloom!

drank Creamy Caramel Oolong by Tealish
1908 tasting notes

It’s a damp, cold and foggy day so I’m just as glad to be curled up inside with my laptop and a mug of tea. There’s something about this tea that makes it suited to a crappy day like this. The dark oolong base is slightly toasty but has a smooth finish which goes well with the sweetness of the caramel. I do wish that the caramel was a touch stronger though, as it comes across more as a suggestion than a fact.

Not a ton of flavour left at this point, but what was there was tasty, though a little on the strong side.

Another tea sample from Sil! Soooo maaaaannnyyyy, hahaha. Thanks!

I think I shorted the water on this one too, so it’s a bit on the strong side. However, it’s kind of tasty! There’s not a great deal to the aroma, but there’s a nice caramelly fruitiness to the cup, and perhaps just a touch of creaminess. Not quite what I might have expected, but it’s enjoyable! There is a fair bit of astringency, and a bit of bitterness, but it feels more like I made the tea too strong than a problem with the tea itself. Perhaps I will go add a bit of water and see if it improves.

Love this!! Very similar to DAVIDs Forever Nuts blend. But this one is a more real tasting nutty brew. I love apple and cinnamon flavours together. And this brew has them! Gonna try a cold brew of this which should be super yummy!!

drank Irish Breakfast by Tealish

This is a tea my hubby enjoys so this is really his review :) He likes a straight, strong black tea so this one fits the bill nicely for him. He adds a splash of milk and a pinch of sugar. He told me taste wise, its very bold. Any recommendations for other black teas along these lines would be appreciated!!!

drank Milk Oolong by Tealish

Now this is a nice milk oolong! I can taste buttery notes and a nice sweet milk after taste. Also has a bit of nuttiness to it.
I didn’t get these various tastes from my DAVIDs milk oolong. A very nice satsifying cup of tea before house cleaning :)

I wasn’t as impressed with the DavidsTea milk oolong once I tried another one. Theirs seems to be a low-grade one.

Backlogged cuppa from yesterday:
POW!! It is like an explosion of orange and almond goodness from the moment you smell this tea dry. And to me it tastes as good as it smells. I have not had a tea infused with orange and I really like it. Very comforting to me for some reason. Thankfully, it is not too overpowering but does seem to invigorate me! This would make a great tea to go to for an afternoon pick-me-up!

Oooh – this tea is divine! Cannot believe there are no previous tasting notes! Love the aroma and taste of the Lychee. Just a nice all around green tea that supposedly detoxes as well. Another re-purchase!

drank Earl Grey Cream by Tealish
34 tasting notes

Well, spent a fair chunk of change today at one of my favourite tea stores in Toronto – Tealish! This was one of my purchases. I am really starting to appreciate Earl Grey Creams. Tealish’s version has a lovely aroma and to me, just the right amount of bergamot. I don’t like letting it steep for too long. I find that it gets less creamy tasting if I do. This really is a yummy tasting Earl Grey Cream! Not too bergamot-y and not too creamy. Will mos def be repurchasing!!

drank Sweetie Pie Rooibos by Tealish

I decided to try this one again, but with some alterations. I added a bit of dried ginger and 4 cardamom pods to the tisane, and I think it helped. I’m still getting a bit of a fake almond taste, but it’s not nearly as strong as before. The spices help to balance it out a bit. Still no coconut flavour, though. Maybe I’ll add some coconut next time.

There’s a woody taste underlying every sip of this tea (the rooibos I’m sure), and its marzipan flavouring is very heavy. I’m afraid I don’t taste the coconut at all, which is unfortunate. I’ve tried this hot and cold, and find it better cold.

I think I’ll have to do a bit of experimenting mixing this with other teas to try to make it more drinkable and balance out the artificial almond taste.

I don’t taste the patisserie aspect, but it’s nice and sweet and creamy. Great for cozy breakfast.

Coworkers kept stopping by my desk to ask what smelled so good!

Sweet, nicely-balanced almond-y/apple-y flavor, quite mild.

Very pronounced smoky odor and taste; feels a little harsh going down. Okay with or without milk. Probably not one I’ll return to.

A little over-sweet from the grenadine. Good to try once but not as a regular purchase.

interesting coconut and spice tastes, but not much tea flavor—I often toss a black tea bag in the pot to up the tea-ness.

The first time I smelt this tea, I had to sit down. An intense desserty smell that makes me go weak in the knees every time. Tastes just as good as it smells!

drank Rooibos Provence by Tealish

This is an awesome rooibos. Slightly floral with a zing, and a barely noticeable bitter edge (moreso as it cools).
The fruity part plays nicely with the floral, creating a candy like taste. Not quite cotton candy, but definitely something fluffy and soft!
When I run out of rooibos blends to try, this will be on my repurchase list.
and yes, I can hear you all chuckling. AS IF there will ever be a shortage of teas to sample. Ha!

Sil

I dropped by tealish last? weekend or maybe it was the weekend before. Sadly I left rather unimpressed with their store. I think what concerned me most was how WARM the store was…and with all that tea sitting there in the warmth. Not only that I’m not as big a fan when i can’t have smaller sizes or when I have to ask them to take down canisters for me (especially when it’s busy). We’ll see though…maybe i’ll have to “borrow” some of your favs from them…

Indigobloom

I hear you on that. Usually it is really cold in there so I guess they have furnace issues??
Since I don’t make it out there very often, I only have maybe three of their teas. This one was a free sample they gave me. You’re welcome to have some! :)
