I have a soft spot for banana flavored black teas, so I had to add this to my order. It tastes more like bananas and caramel than a tray bake, but that’s fine by me. It’s sweet and it has nice banana flavor. There’s a bit of cinnamon which makes it taste a bit more like a baked good, but, overall, it’s just a sweet black tea with decent banana flavor. I’ve had a few cups of this – hot/straight, latte, iced latte. They’ve all been pleasant cuppas. Again, not a tea I’d rush out to repurchase, but I shouldn’t have any trouble finishing off my 100g.
Flavors: banana, Caramel, Cinnamon, Sweet
This is one of the better pancake-inspired blends I’ve tried. The black tea base isn’t really anything remarkable, but it blends well with the flavors of vanilla and cinnamon. I enjoyed it hot and straight, but I preferred it with a splash of milk. It’s not a tea I’d repurchase, but I might hold onto the rest of the 100g. It’d probably make a nice latte.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Vanilla
As a lover of vanilla black tea blends, I was fully expecting this to be my favorite of the breakfast teas I purchased during T2’s Black Friday sale. To my surprise, it wasn’t. It’s nice enough, but it’s certainly not one of the better vanilla teas I’ve had in the past year or so. I don’t think I’ll be sipping the rest of my 100g, unless I can find something to mix it with. Life’s too short to carry on sipping teas you don’t enjoy.
Also, while I love the cute orange boxes, I loathe the way these teas are packaged. How on earth am I meant to seal these bags? I’ve just about used up my entire stash of tiny binder clips. I think I’ll just have to transfer the teas to ziploc bags. So annoying.
Flavors: Vanilla
Ayup, bags that are ridiculous to reseal are most annoying and will weigh in to how readily I am going to be purchasing from that blender.
Tried this one again today, in my timolino while I host nursing interviews away from my usual office. I know it’s supposed to be a pancake blend, but that’s really not what I’m getting from this one. I get chocolate and caramel, on a pleasantly malty black base. It’s great with milk, and an excellent dessert tea. But it’s not pancakes. I find it odd that the ingredients list cinnamon, because I can’t taste that at all.
I like this one, but I feel like I’m not experiencing the same thing as everyone else?

I used a recipe from T2’s website, and made this one up as a salted caramel latte. The tea itself is described in terms of pancakes, so it seemed a bit of a stretch from that to salted caramel. It worked, though, so that was a surprise! Apparently, adding 1 tsp of honey and a pinch of salt can have a fairly drastic effect!
I can’t say all that much about the tea just now, as I’ve yet to try it plain. It stood up well to the milk and additions, though, and contributed a lot of its own flavour – I wouldn’t say pancakes, perhaps, but there was a certain “bakery” kind of quality, a maple-like sweetness, and a little bit of astringent bite. Combined with the salt and honey, I could definitely imagine salted caramel.
What I wanted from this one was a warming, comforting, just-in-from-work kind of cup, and that’s what I got. I’m enjoying being a bit more creative, too – it’s inspiring to do something different!
I’ll write a more in depth tasting note for this one once I’ve tried it on its own, but for now I’m very happy with it!

My boyfriend’s mum bought me this tea for christmas, I was a bit a hestitant on drinking it as I’m generally not a fan on herbal teas. This tea is not sweet regardless of how it’s described. Despite not being sweet the tea isn’t too gross for me but I doubt I’ll brew this tea as often as my other teas.
The smell of the tea isn’t appealing to me either, it kind of reminds me of the scent of chamomile, and if you know me, you would know I hate chamomile tea. So that was not a plus. I would recommend this to someone who likes herbal and floral teas, especially those who enjoy chamomile.
Flavors: Floral, Herbaceous, Herbs, Jasmine, Rose
I tried this tea in my local T2 and I was suprised with the sweetness of this tea. It was like drinking pancakes with syrup but not in an overly sweet way. It was very confusing though but I enjoyed it regardless. Its now on my wishlist
Flavors: Maple Syrup, Pancake Syrup, Sweet
Let me preface this review by saying that strawberry is not a flavor I gravitate toward in teas. It’s a very finicky ingredient for me. It either has to be the star of the show or an almost overlooked note hidden in the background. It’s basically all or nothing.
As I sit here huffing the tea through the box, I can’t quite place the smell of the dry leaf. It sort of smells like a strawberry fruit strip, but less like a fruit roll-up and more like the kind of no-sugar-added variety you’d find at Whole Foods.
Hibiscus is the first ingredient, so the first unsweetened sip did make me pucker a bit – a bit like tasting one of those awful unripe strawberries that are completely white inside. The addition of sweetener mellowed the tart hibiscus enough to really enjoy the strawberry flavor. It made a very nice glass of iced tea.
I was fully expecting to prefer Fruitalicious, but Strawberry Sensation was the more impressive of the two blends sampled tonight. Is it a tea I need to have in my collection at all times? No. Is it a nice strawberry tea? Absolutely. I’ll enjoy sipping down the rest of my 100g. It’d probably make a nice base for a tea cocktail too. I can imagine it’d go quite nicely with some tequila and fresh lime. #lush
Flavors: Strawberry, Tart
Thanks to Black Friday, Cyber Monday, et al., I’ve had the opportunity to try new brands this past week. It snowed yesterday (in Texas!) and it’s currently 40-something degrees, but I’m craving fruity iced tea. I don’t think I steeped this long enough to extract all the lovely flavors from the dried fruit, but my (large) glass of iced tea still went down a treat. It’s a muddled melange of fruits. Apart from the cranberry, I can’t quite discern any of the other fruits, but that’s fine by me. I think this would work really well cold-steeped or steeped for much longer than the suggested 3-5 minutes. I steeped for closer to 10 minutes and it still was quite light. That may just be the way it is, especially given the lack of hibiscus, rosehips, etc. Perhaps it’s just meant to be a lightly flavored fruit tea. I’m not mad at it.
Now that DT’s discontinued/retired Goji Pop and Melon Drop, I’ll need to find some nice flavorful tisanes for spring/summer. I’ll give it a longer steep next time and see how I fare.
Flavors: Cranberry, Fruity
Thankfully, there wasn’t much of it. That said, people around here don’t know how to drive in the rain, much less any sort of wintry precipitation. Yesterday’s commute to work (by bus) took an hour longer than it normally does. Fun times. What a crazy couple of months in Houston!
Oh dear. I guess the light dusting in Texas is on par with a snow storm we had some time ago when our then mayor called in the army to deal with it. lol.
This is a flavoured tea, not a tea whose flavour complexity comes from blending different tea leaves. It came in a gift box of various black teas, and I thought they were all real tea. It’s like buying wine when the wine-maker has added some sugar and vanilla essence but still calling it wine! It has a cheap maple cla our that has an almost chocolate smell. If that’s what you want, then fine, but I was in the mood for real tea made with a blend of black tea, and I did not get it.

So it’s christmas time and I have been going to T2 and I kept seeing this tea available to drink, each time I had some and I quickly fell in love, so my bf being as amazing as he is bought it for me. This tea is like drinking a gingerbread cookie or drinking pfeffernusse biscuits which I love so much. T2 has this with soy milk and honey and tbh it tastes the best with soy milk and honey. I don’t have soy milk so I have regular milk which is still great. The only thing is I once over brewed my tea and I could not drink it the ginger was too strong so i suggest brewing it for less time.
This tea has strong taste of ginger and cinnamon. Which is perfect as a dessert but I have it for breakfast as it’s when I crave it the most.
The packaging is adorable but I hate how it comes only in bags and with only 25 of them.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Cookie, Ginger, Sweet
This is my favourite tea of all time, I love the sweetness and the smell of this tea. It has taste of cinnamon and is perfect for sweet tea lovers. Sadly a friend has it and I wasn’t aware of it till after easter so I’m hoping they will sell it this easter again. It also has a very cute box.
Flavors: Baked Bread, Cinnamon, Sweet, Vanilla
I’m not the biggest fan of herbal tea but I was at T2 one day and the colours and name made me curious about this tea. I asked the man working if he could brew it for me so I could try this. The tea tastes like green tea with minty and licorice undertones. I usually just brew one cup so it can be a bit strong but once I buy a teapot which is happening soon I will review this again.
For those who enjoy herbal teas and the taste of subtle mint and licorice this will probably be a must buy.
Flavors: Grass, Herbs, Licorice, Mint, Wood
I don’t own this tea but have had it multiple times at my partner’s mother’s house. It has a very cocoa flavour that compliments the black tea. I enjoyed it a lot but haven’t been able to find it at any T2s near me to buy for home which is annoying haha. I personally like it brewed for about four minutes and then put half of the brew in my mug and then top the rest with water.
Flavors: Chocolate, Cocoa, Sweet
Preparation
The tea mostly has a popcorn scent, which is due to the use of Genmaicha as its base. I would prefer a stronger hazelnut chocolate flavor which was, unfortunately, masked by the popcorn scent. Maybe normal green tea as its base would do the trick. Then again, its just my preference.
Flavors: Popcorn
Preparation
Black loose leaf tea with a mid-sized leaf and generous sprinkle of blue cornflowers. Very fresh and clean, with fruit in the mid-mouth and spearmint flavours on the aftertaste. Low tannin; the cup refreshed four times without losing flavour quality, though the intensity faded. A good working afternoon tea.
Flavors: Apricot, Floral, Spearmint
