Another BB for today!

This one is pretty good. It’s Orange and Spice…just like it says. Possible a bit more clove than the other spices but overall it was quite pleasing.

Bleh! Very fake tasting. I took one sip and poured it down the drain. So sad.. I’ve tried pear flavored white teas before that were delicious.

This is a serviceable and pleasant tea. The dominant flavor comes from the honeybush and the roiboos. Like others, I had been hoping for more of a caramel flavor, but once I got past that I enjoyed it.

Sometimes I really like INTENSE Pom Flavor when done correctly. Sometimes I prefer a more subtle Pom flavor. THIS is one of those more subtle Pom flavors that I am enjoying and appreciating. It’s a nice flavored white. The after taste is more of a Pom/Black Berry type flavor tho. There is a bit of an ‘odd’ texture in the middle of the sip that pops in and out quickly, too. It’s almost like Burts Bees Lip Balm or something. But the texture is brief, thankfully. It’s not bad, just something I noticed.

Overall – this is fairly pleasant.

I’m thinking it would be even better iced.

I’m generally skeptical when it comes to bagged tea, especially when it comes to bagged Oolong. Oolong usually expands more when it brews than other tea types, and it needs adequate room to fully express itself.

However, I was very happy after I steeped this tea and saw that there was still room to spare in the pyramid sachet. It gave me hope that the tea would be tasty.

And it is. It has a pleasant, smooth flavor, with a touch of smoke and a nice roasted fruit flavor … as if someone took peaches and apricots and roasted them to concentrate their sweetness … that’s what I taste here. Very enjoyable, a soft texture and a light flavor that is well-balanced and nicely round.

THANKS TO REVOLUTION TEA FOR THIS SAMPLE!
This has a distinct pear flavor, which is good. Not too pear-y. Really light, but I think it would be better iced.

The honeybush is really lovely. It was hard to get that caramel flavor BUT I DID IT! I had the bag in there for about 15+ minutes! As it cooled in that time I could then pick up the caramel. It’s alright flavor-wise but takes a lot of TLC for the caramel!

I have been craving some Earl Grey Lavender tea for the past several days & of course I was all out & my order won’t be delivered until Monday… so while I was at Walmart today picking up the ingredients I needed to make my own laundry detergent I took a walk down the tea aisle. As always I was underwhelmed by the selection at Walmart & longed for the better stocked tea aisle at my local Target, but I noticed this tea sitting on the shelf (almost hidden) and decided it was worth a try.

I like the pyramid sachets that this comes in. They give a lot more room for the tea to expand than a traditional paper teabag which is good because the tea leaves were larger than I expected for a bagged tea. Not really full leaves, but definitely not the shredded dust that a lot of companies use. I also liked that the sachets were packaged in a resealable bag to keep their freshness.

The scent of lavender was nice and strong when I opened the bag, and as the tea steeped in my cup. But while the lavender was nicely present in the flavor, I felt that the bergamot was lacking. It tasted like a standard black tea with lavender in it rather than an Earl Grey.

While this will make do until my tea arrives on Monday, I would only ever purchase this tea if I found myself with another shortage while waiting for the postal service to bring me the tea I really want!

Preparation
Boiling 3 min, 30 sec

The Earl Grey lavender by Upton Tea is delicious.

Tawny Kira

I’ve heard that it is (as well as other teas from Upton) but I haven’t gotten around to checking out all they offer just yet! :) I will definitely be doing that soon though! I have a whole list of teas to try from different websites and I’ll have to add that to it as well!

I’m always excited to try pear teas – I love pear! Unfortunately, it doesn’t always translate well in tea … let’s hope that is not the case with this tea.

Well, I can SMELL the pear, as well as the sweet hay notes of the white tea. Yes, the pear flavor is there. It is soft, but, then, the white tea typically a soft flavor too, so they seem pretty nicely paired. (peared?)

I love this. It is sweet, light, and the flavors are really nicely balanced. The light flavor of the bai mu dan is gentle and hay-like, but I agree with TeaEqualsBliss – I can taste the “baked goods” kind of taste in there too… YUM Pear Tart!

This is really tasty. I think I may have oversteeped it slightly because I forgot to set the timer… but, surprisingly, it doesn’t taste bitter (I say surprisingly because this is an Assam blend, and I usually expect Assam to become bitter when it’s oversteeped). It is a good, strong tea with a lovely peach and ginger flavor. The tea is the strongest flavor (as it should be) with lovely sweet peach notes and a hint of ginger’s fire.

I like the way this one comes together. Very enjoyable.

I was obsessed with this tea last year.
I still like it a lot:)

This one is alright. It’s a gentle chai with gentle spices but it’s also floral smelling and tasting, too…somewhat perfumy.

Thanks to Revolution Tea for the sample. I tried this earlier this morning to kick off my birthday. Talk about lavender tea! The smell of the lavender nearly knocked me over…in a good way! I liked that the bergamot took a back seat with this tea. Full review coming soon to the blog. :)

Oops! Forgot to log this one until now…backlog-a-thon, folks!
See other notes. Gets a tad bitter if over steeped.
Pretty good cold, too!

I THINK Hesper June sent this to me…if I goofed…so sorry!!! Thank you! This has been on my wishlist for nearly 2 years!

The one store regionally I have seen Revolution Teas in – only sells about 5 of them and THIS is never one of them!

This is subtle in every way! It’s certainly pear!

I oversteepted this too just to compare the flavors and when I over steeped it the one thing I did notice is that it got a little bake-E like a Danish. So…like…a Pear Flavored Danish. I like both attempts.

Sometimes…I just need a little pear break.

Hesper June

Yup! this was from me:)
I peeked at you shopping list to see if there was anything that I had that you might want.
I am glad you like it!

Awwwww thanks!!!! BTW…I HOPE to have your Mystery Pack in the Mail tomorrow! I will keep you posted :)

This is a cute lil single-serving bag from Hesper June – thanks!!!!

It doesn’t have much of a scent to it. It brews to a medium brown. The taste is a more gentle English Breakfast Type. It’s a mellower yet relaxing black tea. It’s not very potent but it’s alright! Soooo glad I got to try it!

Hesper June

Those little packets are so fun:-)
Revolution sent me a bunch in my last order.

TeaEqualsBliss

Coool! The boxes were CUTE :)

LiberTEAS

I need to place an order with this company soon, from what I understand, they provide the tea to PF Chang’s and I really loved the tea that I had there for lunch on my last visit, but I was busy “reviewing” the food to really jot down my notes about the tea to review it…

TeaEqualsBliss

They sell the bagged at Wegmans :) I will try and pick some up the next time I go :) And Share Liberteas :)

Hesper June

Yes, LiberTEAS, they DO provide PF Chang’s tea!
That is where I first had their tea and actually is what got me back into tea in the first place:)

LiberTEAS

Yes, they sell this brand at my local grocery stores as well, but, I don’t trust grocery stores with tea … I’ve found too many disturbing trends with grocery stores selling teas well past their expiration dates.

I’m really sorry for not being so active lately — my tea budget has dried up and I’ve been drinking tea more for the caffeine than for flavor nowadays.

Anyway, I’ve also noticed that I like to put milk in everything I can — especially oolongs. This will probably annoy some people here on Steepster, but really, it brings out the flavor, especially for this tea. I bought this tea as a little stocking stuffer for my sister about two years back, so it’s old and probably not as tasty as getting a fresh bag. However, straight from the box, it had a flowery, warm scent which was similar when brewing. The taste without milk was slightly malty, round, and warm. There were some nice middle notes of what I can only describe as “Asteraceae-like,” which probably means that it was the safflower. With milk, it was easier to taste the warm oolong and sweet peach notes.

I liked this tea, especially with milk. …I think I should revisit it, though, with a fresher sample…

After lunch tea — I thought I’d revisit this since I had a HUGE vegetarian burrito for lunch and maybe something with ginger would be good. This still tastes like a huge bunch of fake peach with hardly any ginger detectable. I’m still not a big fan as you may be able to ascertain.

We were able to get some of this for the office, I am trying to upgrade us to slightly better stuff even though I drink loose leaf tea most of the time anyway.

This was steeped via regular mug method and they’re teabag sachets. I like ginger and I like the black assam/ceylon blend here. My only beef with this one is the peach flavoring is a bit too sweet and artifical for my tastes. I feel like I’m eating a jolly rancher or something… I may try to make iced tea out of this, it might be better that way.

Tried this tea for the first time this morning and I was impressed.

I used two of the tea bags because I drink out of a big University of Oregon mug. It has a very full body that does not lack in peach flavor. The ginger is balanced very well, not at all overpowering. Would be improved even more if I had honey to add to it.

The one downside to this tea that I experienced is that the tea bag before steeping smells kind of like peach liquor, a weird alcoholesque smell, not at all pleasing.

I found this full leaf bag tea in the cupboard in its own cute little travel tin and I have no idea how long its been in there but Yum! I added sugar in the raw to this and have enjoyed it more than any black tea so far. It’s the same ingredients as my adagio black teas but for some reason, this one is highly satisfying!

This is the first time I’ve tried tea with sugar in the raw so that might be why and I must try it with my other black teas.

More about this one, it just has a rich taste without any bad aftertaste.
I don’t particularly like it steeped twice but I’m probably over doing it.  It looks just like my loose leaf!
I’m happy to say this cup definitely brightened my morning.

Had it after dinner at a restaurant, I was in doubt about it but it was nice, tried it with one sugar. Had this strong taste from the 2 black varieties that is made of & a barely but recognizable woody taste from the oolong, never crossed my mind it paired so well. The taste from the lavender & bergamot are quite nice. I want to try it again, it reminded me of the Blue Earl Grey by Tealosophy.

Full-bodied, yet wonderfully light, the award-winning black tea blends traditional earl grey with fragrant blue lavender to make a wonderful taste. This tea is great at late at night hour.
