One of the great things about working on my sipdowns is that I’m rediscovering teas, and also have no excuses to consume them.
I’m not done with my sipdown goal yet, but I’m working on it, and this tea is one that will need some more drinking to get it gone.
I love a fruit black comination. Its one of my favorite flavor profiles, and I’ve always liked the taste of Black Currant. But this has an after taste that I find a little sharp. I don’t think the base and the flavor are balanced as well as they could. That’s too bad, because, on paper, this could be magnificent! As it is, its perfectly fine, but nothing to sing about.
I sort of forgot I had this tea, so I wanted to get reacquainted with it.
I’m beginning to pale on this. There is something almost a little bit sour about todays pot, and so I’m a bit less than full impressed.
Still, I’ll be able to drink it all. I don’t hate it, but I’m not going to bring it back into the cupboard.
I think, when I finish this tin, I won’t run out and get it again. I feel like a lot of my reviews are “there is nothing wrong with it, but its not magical,” but it holds true here. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing exceptional!
Sometime I’ll have an interesting opinion!
Gah! Why does it take so long for me to get a single tasting note in? I drank this this morning, which was one full work day ago. Sheesh.
I like this, its an uncomplicated fruit and black blend, something I really like. Its not an especially memorable or exciting fruit/black blend, but there are days when simple and too the point is exactly what you want. Bingo, Black Current. Keep on being dependable!
Today was full steam ahead, all hands of deck, and other seafaring metaphors about being busy.
Gah. I was, through fault of my day, late for everything-lunch, leaving, etc. So when I did get a lunch break I needed tea. Boy I’m glad I got it. Fantastic.
Still enjoyable, still good, still an easy choice.
I hope tomorrow goes much better.
Daylight savings time is throwing me for a loop. But at least its a loop where I get to sleep in a bit more.
We have entered that time in the year where I still feel “fall”, but the teas coming out are “winter”, but I shall stick with my more autumnal flavors right now.
Still, not going to stop me from looking at, and possibly ordering, some new winter teas!
Cup at lunch time! I am feeling the vibe, from this mornings fruity Cranberry Autumn cup, to keep the fruit and black blends going. I love a fruit/black tea blend.
This is not quite as good as Cranberry Autumn, but still very enjoyable. The fruit and tea are well balanced, and this cup just tastes “juicy” to me.
And its finally cooling down around here! I drank a cup of tea and wore a sweater and did not overheat! Victory!
I think I said this in my last review, but I really should just get some of this to have at home. Its raining, I have a free cup of tea card, and I almost always get this juicy blend.
It was good this afternoon. Its Friday (hooray!) and I have fun dinner plans (hooray!) but it seems like the afternoon is going to drag. (boo!)
Well, tea helps! Onward, to conquer Friday!
Was in dramatic need of tea today, so stopped for a cup of this during lunch.
I’ve had this before, and was stuck by how juicy this tea is. And in a very good way. Its lush and fruity, without seeming like some kind of hot punch. Just what the doctor ordered on this long afternoon.
C’mon, when is Saturday going to get here?
Its cooled down here just enough that its not agony to get a cup of tea during my lunch break, so I headed to Peets, and got some of this.
It might be weird, but this reminds me a bit of juice. The currant flavor is very light, and pleasant too.
A good choice for today.
Backlog: This afternoon, my daughter and I went to Fred Meyer and as I was passing the Peet’s Coffee & Tea shop that they have in the store, I noticed a sign that advertised their Raspberry and their Vanilla Matcha Lattes. I couldn’t resist … it just sounded way too good.
I ordered the Raspberry, but then I asked if they could make it a Raspberry Vanilla latte, and they did that for me. It was a yummy, creamy, smooth experience – a little light on the Matcha flavor as it sort of hid behind the raspberry and vanilla syrups added. It was a bit sweeter than I typically like my Matcha, but, it was still a very refreshing drink, and I could taste the Matcha … even though it wasn’t as strong as I think I would like it to be. In the future, I would probably want them to use a little less syrup, although i don’t usually indulge in Matcha lattes from the coffee shops because I’d rather save the five bucks and go home and make my own Matcha so that I can eliminate the sugar added.
Not bad … but not something I’d drink daily.
My parents, who are devoted coffee drinkers, will go into the local Peets for their beans. When you get beans, you also get a free cup of coffee or tea, and if my parents don’t want the free beverage, they get an IOU and pass it off to me.
This means I get some lovely free tea cards, which are great on a rainy lunch break.
I should have got a black tea, but wanted something that I did not have to fuss over, so I got this.
I never really do know what I think of this one. Suitable, does its job, but does not particularly stick in your mind.
My stomach was a little upset after lunch today, so I went to the local Peet’s to use a free cup of tea card I had. This is what I got, and its done well on the settling of the stomach.
I’ve had this before, and, as then, am a little conflicted. I like all the parts, but something just seems a touch off about it, when I have a cup.
Further study is obviously required.
Hmmm. This is not going to be a concise or scientific tasting note. This tea puzzles me. It combines some things I really like, but I’m never really satisfied with it. However, I do keep getting cups of it, when I dodge into Peets for a cuppa. Hmm.
The only conclusion that I can come to is that this weird tea is a good occasional thing, but I’m not going to make it a habit.
I got this as an anniversary present! A propos, right? Oh my gosh, where to start: first of all, it is so good. Yum. Lots of flavors and nuances going on but all harmonizing gorgeously. You’ve got your sweet, malty, mouth-puckeringness and a little smoke and a little earthiness. Total tea party in one blend. Love!
Irish Breakfast blends have a reputation for being robust and flavorful, and Peet’s Irish Breakfast? Check and check! It has a sweetness and an astringency; a subtle malt and fresh floral flavor; a strength and delicacy. One reason I love tea so much is that there can be so much going on in a single cup, in a single cup.
